Part 4

The cloud of dust rising from the center startled Ghada and stopped him in his tracks.

Surrounded by enemies, there was no room to spare, but the sight that met his eyes was enough to stop him in his tracks.

“…Has she already advanced that far?”

The red-haired princess had grown remarkably. When he first met her, he had noticed that she had natural talent.

He had expected her to overtake him easily.

“Still, I thought it would take five years… Humans really are a mass of possibilities.”

This was a trait that the demon race, blessed with a strong body, did not have.

The demon race was “complete” from birth, while the human race was “incomplete. In terms of growth potential, humans were superior to the demon race.

This was only natural.

The human life span was short and limited. Therefore, they sought their potential until the time of their death. On the other hand, demons and the long-eared race lived three times longer than humans, and because they were finished products, they had more time to spare and had little concept of possibility or growth.

Therefore, few of them achieved great success compared to humans.

“Why are you just standing there, big man?”

Luca, who crushed the monster’s skull, gave Ghada a suspicious look.

Ghada returned from the sea of thoughts, only to be confronted by a piercing, murderous stare from his ally.

“No, I just thought the Grantz army’s momentum was tremendous. I was stunned.”

“Are you an idiot? You must be an idiot. This is not the time to be impressed. We need to get ahead of those people.”

Saying this in frustration, Luca finished off another prey, but she didn’t stop there. She swung her Vajra Mallet at the monster, already out of breath, and attacked it relentlessly.

“But that is not to say. If we attack too hastily and recklessly, we will be beaten back. We will complete our mission at our own pace.”

Ghada said with a dumbfounded look on his face, but suddenly, his huge buttocks were blown away. Luca’s Vajra collided with him with great force. Ghada managed to defend himself, but he landed farther forward than he had been in the front line.

“T-that woman… why did she attack an ally…?”

If he had not been able to defend himself against her attack, he would have died.

In other words, she was serious in her attack.

However, before the anger, he broke out in a cold sweat. He was surrounded by monsters.

They were drooling and staring at Ghada as if they were happy to see the bait raining down on them.

But he could not be killed so easily. Determined to win the battle, Ghada swung his great sword and slashed. He took aim at his next target and was drenched in a shower of blood.

“Nee-san, what are you doing?”

“Hugin, I’m sorry. My hand slipped.”

“If it slipped, how could Big Brother be sent flying so far ahead?”

“He’s a strong man; he’ll be fine.”

“Th-that’s not the problem…”

The wind carried their conversation, devoid of any suspense, to Ghada’s ears as he struggled desperately not to be killed by the monster.

“I-I have to go help Big Brother quickly! I-I’m coming!”

“Hugin, wait! If you attack too hastily and recklessly, you will be beaten back.”

He heard this sentence somewhere before.

Angrily, Ghada slashed the monster’s torso with his great sword, cutting it in two.

“I cannot put her in such danger. Munin, go to the big man.”

“Ehhh… that is outrageous.”

“Do you want to fly like the big man?”

“Follow me, all of you! We’re going to save Big Brother!”

Ghada heard a cry of confusion.

“Did that woman use me as bait to lure up the front line?”

There was no one around to answer the question. The monsters were eager to kill Ghada, and they attacked him. He slid his blade into the large mouth of the monster that tried to bite him, kicked it to the ground, and pushed it into the ground to cut off its head. Using the recoil, he slashed the arm of the next monster in a flowing motion.

“Damn it, I’ll never trust that woman with my back again!”

Feeling a chill from the dangerous thought, Ghada continued to finish off the monsters.

It was getting tedious to count how many he had already killed.

The new armor he had just bought was already starting to break under the monsters’ attacks, and his big sword was losing its sharpness from blood and grease.

The situation was getting worse and worse,

“Big Brother! We are here to help you!”

Munin appeared with his cavalry, and a new great sword was thrust in front of Ghada.

He threw the old sword at the monsters, then grabbed the hilt of the new sword and swung it.

Three monsters sank to the ground, and Ghada stepped forward and swung the sword down again.

“Sorry. Munin, I am in your debt.”

As the cavalry began to overrun the area, Ghada thrust his large sword into the ground, took off his helmet, and wiped off a large amount of sweat. You could say he was ready to die, and he was filled with rage against the woman who had thrown him to his death. But he told himself not to let his eyes glaze over.

“Big man, you are full of openings.”

“What?”

When he turned around, a large spray of blood stuck to his face.

The monster that was about to jump on him fell to the ground. He wiped the blood away and opened his eyes to see Luca, who had placed the Vajra on the monster’s corpse, and snorted.

“I saved you. You should be grateful.”

“…..”

He felt like cursing… since she was the one who had thrown him into the death trap.

But it was also true that he had been saved, and Ghada had an indescribably complicated expression on her face.

“No words of thanks?”

“S-sorry… I’m indebted to you.”

Although he was not satisfied, Ghada thanked her, remembering that a favor was a favor.

“All you have to do is understand. Don’t just stand there, let’s go.”

Luca, carrying the Vajra, rushed out to where Hugin and Munin were fighting.

Ghada watched in dismay, then looked up at the sky and sighed.

“One-Eyed Dragon… This is all your fault.”

Murmuring a boisterous grudge against Hiro for leaving the troublesome woman behind and promising that he would beat him up when he returned, Ghada also grabbed his great sword and began to sprint.

*****

A dark emotion began to rise in her.

It took her a few moments to realize that it was called jealousy, and the woman who had never dreamed that she could develop such an ugly emotion was more than a little surprised.

“…You have truly grown stronger.”

Claudia, the queen of the Levering Kingdom, muttered something like that and looked at the center of the battlefield.

The red-haired princess, who could easily slaughter monsters many times her size and easily destroy the enemy’s front lines, knew no end to the momentum generated by her tremendous fighting power.

And the soldiers of the Grantz who followed her also had some of that destructive power.

They were no less powerful than the brilliant red-haired princess.

Even the ordinary soldiers showed more strength than they were capable of, as they killed the monsters. They used their strength beyond their limits so as not to drag her down.

It was because of the presence of the red-haired princess that this situation occurred. It would not have happened if it were any other person.

She was like a goddess guiding an apostle―a sight that blew away any doubts one might have.

The Grantz throne could not have been more fitting for anyone than for her.

Her powerful and heroic figure, which gives energy to the soldiers, was truly a “Vessel of Heroes.”

The way she led her soldiers, praised by the people, was truly the “Vessel of an Emperor.”

The red-haired princess, who had achieved remarkable rapid growth and leaps forward, was also growing in stature.

“It’s only been four years…but four years…and she’s made a difference without even knowing it.”

Where did the difference come from? Claudia had not played around in the last four years.

Even after becoming queen, she had never slacked on her training and had built up her achievements.

Then maybe it is the difference in the environment.

Compared to the red-haired princess’ upbringing, Claudia was blessed.

She was loved from birth, her “Elfinization” was approved by her father, and she was secretly raised as a queen. There were twists and turns along the way, such as her brother’s rebellion.

However, compared to the life of the red-haired princess, she could be said to have achieved the position of queen without much effort.

Perhaps that was the difference.

Those who wanted to be a queen and those who wanted to be an empress.

Those who were satisfied with achieving their goals and those who continued to run towards their dreams.

Those who had started and those who were still running.

“It’s just a matter of feeling – that’s all, but it’s the most important and indispensable.”

The strength of the mind was directly related to growth.

No matter how many times they were trampled, beaten, covered in mud, or fell, their hearts never wavered, and they looked ahead and picked themselves back up.

It was because she had overcome numerous trials, that the red-haired princess existed today.

“When I think of all the hardships that have befallen Her Highness Celia Estrella, I can’t help but wonder if they were all meant to make her stronger.”

No one knows who was responsible. But there was no doubt that there was a will at work.

It was not the Five Heavenly Kings. The red-haired princess was walking on a path prepared by a higher being.

There were many obstacles along the way, and the highest honor of becoming “Empress” awaited her after she overcame all the challenges.

“Was it His Majesty the Black Dragon King who orchestrated this? No, he may be one of the pawns.”

Hiro worked for his own purposes. There was no room for anyone to interfere with his brilliant plan. That was why even the “Five Great Heavenly Kings” had been used as pawns. But Claudia wondered if someone who knew of his abilities would try to outsmart him. But there was no one in Claudia’s memory who could do that.

“At first, I thought that time had moved on from His Majesty the Black Dragon King, but…”

She might have been wrong. If Hiro was not the center of the story, but he was also one of the pawns that had been prepared for the growth of the red-haired princess…

Claudia shuddered as she imagined it.

“If this war goes the way he wants… I don’t even know what the outcome will be.”

The very act of a “God,” an existence that transcended even the “Five Great Heavenly Kings” who reigned at the top of the world.

A mysterious figure who may or may not exist―the outcome of today’s battle would tell.

“He will reveal himself sooner or later. Until then, shall I rampage as well?”

She tapped the horse’s belly with her heel and began to ride. Increasing her speed, she skillfully maneuvered the Magic Sword left behind by Founder King Rox and smashed the monster’s head in.

She must make up for her late departure from the red-haired princess. She had not yet accepted defeat.

They were born at the same time. She wanted to be her eternal rival.

Life was long, and Claudia was too young to give up.

She would grow up with jealousy and envy wherever she wanted to go.

She would not run after her. She would never follow. Her path was not Claudia’s path.

Her path would be different, and she would continue to sharpen her blade until the time they crossed.

“It’s starting to be fun.”

Even though the battle with the monsters would end and peace would arrive, the peace of life was not over. As long as everyone in this world lived, they would continue to be tested.

“Right now, you are the star of the show, shining beautifully on your way to becoming an empress, so let’s get you drunk. It would be rude to disturb you.”

Claudia took one look at the center front where the red-haired princess would be, smiled, and turned her gaze forward like a sharp blade to concentrate on the war.

There was no room for afterthoughts.

The front lines where the fighting was fierce, and Claudia’s lovely subordinates were being torn to pieces.

The strong man, battered by the rain of blood and flesh, smiled eerily.

“If they’re only this good, no wonder they didn’t conquer the world a thousand years ago.”

A tall man with brown skin and patterns all over his body was swinging a Levering soldier around like a baby.

How beautiful it was to see the back of a soldier fighting hard even though he knew he was no match for him, and how hateful it was to see the big man trampling him like an insect.

“You there.”

Claudia kicked the horse’s back, leaped into the air, and readied her Asura.

With a bolt of lightning, she slashed down at the Marked Tribe.

“Huh?”

“You should apologize to my lovely soldier.”

“Wha!?”

The Asura slashed deep into the Marked Tribe’s right shoulder, but the blade stopped halfway. Claudia clicked her tongue and immediately pulled the Asura out.

A huge amount of blood gushes from the wound, and immediately Claudia aims at the neck with a flash, a white flash, but it was caught by the huge axe and the clash showered sparks in the air.

But Claudia didn’t stop. She turned and launched another attack.

The Marked Tribe was slow to react to the stabbing, high-speed attacks that were unleashed.

“That’s nice.”

All of Claudia’s attacks hit the Marked Tribe, who smiled and spread her arms.

With one blow, she shattered its bones; with one blow, she ripped out its heart, and with one blow, she froze it. The ice sculpture of the Marked Tribe appeared in front of Claudia, who has stopped moving.

A cheer erupts behind Claudia.

The enemy that had caused so much pain to the Levering soldiers had been defeated by Queen Claudia’s hand. It was impossible not to rejoice, impossible not to praise her.

However, Claudia stopped the soldiers who tried to approach her by thrusting her arms out to the side. Before her eyes, the ice sculpture was undergoing a change.

A large number of drops began to flow. Gradually, cracks formed in all directions, and they began to make noise. The Marked Tribe’s smile deepened, and the ice covering its entire body cracked as if it were about to burst.

“Huh… you are quite strong, aren’t you?”

The Marked Tribe, who inhaled and exhaled vigorously, put his hands on his neck and made a gesture as if to turn his head and look at Claudia.

“I’m Null, and I’m the one who unites the Marked Tribe. Can you tell me your name?”

The words, the confidence, the arrogant attitude, as if he were superior.

The way he looked down on her, the way his self-esteem was so high, it made her want to crush him.

You’re not strong, you’re not that strong, the sadistic feeling deep in her heart came out.

“I am Claudia Van Levering, Queen of the Kingdom of Levering.”

The finest marbled bait―Claudia smiled, trying not to show it in her expression.

She smiled innocently as if there was no animosity, but the smile never reached her eyes.

“I am the woman who will tear you to pieces.”

She exhaled in ecstasy, her lips twisted into a glazed beauty.
