Chapter 1150: Great Shift

"Just Energy?" Kyle asked in surprise. "Does that even count for the Fulfilled and Unique Realms?"

"There is no Fulfilled or Unique Universe Realm," Abyssal Depths answered. "You no longer get rewards or unique bonuses for being exceptionally talented. The world treats everyone the same in the Universe Realm. The Universe Realm has nine levels, and you need to reach the ninth level to advance. There is no tenth level."

Kyle furrowed his brows. This sounded so... simple. This was nothing like all of the earlier Realms. "But Immortals also gather Energy passively, right? Doesn't that mean that everyone can reach the ninth level, even if they never do anything?"

"Theoretically, yes, but in practice, no," Abyssal Depths answered. "When you fully focus on creating a Grade Nine Energy Stone with two Avatars, you can create one of them in 10,000 years if you're a New Immortal. If you have three Avatars, it takes around 7,500 years. You won't be able to focus on any other things while generating a Grade Nine Energy Stone."

"In order to become a Beginner Immortal, you need Energy equivalent to 100 Grade Nine Energy Stones. Assuming you have two Avatars, you would need to spend a million years to advance, and that's just the start."

"With every advancement, the speed at which you create an Energy Stone increases by about 20%, while the Energy you need to advance quintuples. That means the time you need to advance in every successive level quadruples. A New Immortal needs one million years to gather the Energy to advance. For a Zenith Immortal to become a Half-Step Lord..."

"16.4 billion years," Kyle answered with a deep breath. "7.5 million Grade Nine Energy Stones. The total time to go through the Universe Realm would be over 21 billion years."

"Correct," Abyssal Depths answered. "No one has ever managed to become a Half-Step Lord by just creating Energy Stones. A couple of dedicated Immortals have made it their life mission to do just that. From what I've heard, they once tried to get the resources elsewhere but failed to do so. They gave up and started creating Energy Stones."

"Some of them never stopped, and they've been slowly gathering Energy Stones for an eternity. As far as I know, the oldest one just recently became a Zenith Immortal. By recently, I mean about 25 million years ago. To them, 25 million years is a short time."

"Since they have to pay to stay in a Protected City, their speed of advancement is slower. According to them, they've been creating Energy Stones for over seven billion years. They even experienced the First Great Shift."

"The First Great Shift?" Kyle asked with a raised brow.

"The First Great Shift happened a bit more than five billion years ago. Its name comes from the sudden change in Energy movement. According to tales, Energy in the Supreme World used to move more smoothly but also more slowly. Apparently, understanding Laws used to be easier during these times."

"Then, the way the Energy moved suddenly changed. That was also the time when the Cult of Final Fate attacked for the first time. According to the World Seekers, the shift in Energy represents the change between rest and exertion. The Energy is more chaotic because the world is actively fighting against the Cult's God."

'Five billion years, huh...' Kyle thought. 'That's when the fight between this God and the invading God started.'

"If there's a First Great Shift, is there also a Second Great Shift?" Kyle asked.

Abyssal Depths furrowed her brows as she looked at Kyle. "Is this some kind of joke?" she asked.

Kyle blinked in confusion, while Sebastian raised an eyebrow.

"No, I'm not joking," Kyle answered. "Is there a second one? Seriously, I don't know. I've never heard of this Great Shift business before."

Abyssal Depths looked like she didn't believe Kyle.

Was it really possible that someone could become a Fulfilled Ascendant while being that isolated and blind?

"The Second Great Shift was the sudden change in Energy about 70,000 years ago. Don't tell me you didn't notice," she answered.

'70,000 years ago?' Kyle thought. 'If I take the time dilation of Ayuvar into account, that would've been about 700,000 years ago.'

Kyle's eyes widened as realization struck him. "Oh, you mean that!" he shouted.

"So, you did notice," Abyssal Depths commented.

'That was when I made my Refined Law of Death,' Kyle thought. 'When I made it, the Energy suddenly started to change, and it never returned to normal. I thought that only happened in Ayuvar! Are you telling me this happened across the entire Cosmos?!'

'This can't be related to my Refined Law, right? I mean, I was and still am an Ascendant! How could anything I do affect the entire Cosmos in such a big way?'

'As far as I know, nobody in this Cosmos knows the Major Law of Death, which also means that no one has created a Refined Law of Death. This should be a completely new power. If I consider that the sole purpose of existence inside this Cosmos is to make the God of this Cosmos stronger...'

'Wait, is that possible? Can the owner of this Cosmos actually harness the powers of everyone in it? If that's the case, I could actually be responsible for this sudden change.'

'The Cult has access to Death, but they only have a limited amount. They can't make their own Death. The only thing they can make is an imitation of Death. However, the Major Law of Death is probably a Law that exists outside of this Cosmos. The Will of Death acted like the two Gods were just fighting children.'

'Imposing Laws are our own creations, but our creations still exist in this Cosmos' reality. While Death might supersede this reality, our Imposing Laws don't.'

'So, when I incorporated the Major Law of Death into my Imposing Law, I've effectively given the owner of this Cosmos access to my Refined Law of Death. This gives him access to Death.'

Kyle's Divine Consciousness focused on his hammer.

'What if I disperse it? I can disperse and recreate it as many times as I want. Would that weaken the owner of this Cosmos?'

'That can't be, right? I can't have that much power over someone of such a level.'

'But what if I do?'

Kyle considered dispersing his Refined Law for a moment but decided against it.

'Antagonizing the owner of this Cosmos might not be the best idea.'

Sebastian glanced at Kyle. He had also felt the change in Energy, and he had heard it happened shortly after Fierce Breaker and Kyle fused.

Sebastian also knew about the Major Law of Death, and he came to a similar conclusion.

He believed Kyle had caused the Second Great Shift.

As Sebastian looked at Kyle, he felt like he was in some kind of surreal dream. Kyle hadn't even entered the Immortal Dimension, and yet, he had already affected it significantly.

This was Kyle, his buddy.

He knew that Kyle was most likely the most talented Seeker, but this?
