Chapter 1193: Goal Achieved
Chapter 1193: Goal Achieved
The Supervisor sent Kyle a long contract to his Communicator. As Kyle read through the contract, he saw a clause that he didn't like. Sadly, he couldn't refuse it since that might reveal part of his true power.
He had to pay for access to the four remaining Law Wells of the Immortal Elements.
The remaining parts of the contract were okay. He had to produce a minimum number of materials every year. The minimum number of materials would not be rewarded since it acted as some kind of rent or fee. Everything above the minimum number would be paid out.
'Hitting the minimum isn't hard. I can reach the yearly quota within just ten days,' Kyle thought.
In the end, Kyle signed the contract.
"Follow," the Supervisor ordered as the reality around them distorted.
A moment later, they teleported out of the hall and traveled to the other side of the Harvester. As soon as they entered, Kyle saw several big halls with different people. Surprisingly, half of them were actual Immortals, while the other half consisted of False Immortals.
'I thought there would be only people from outside the Cosmos here, but after thinking about it for a bit, it actually makes sense that there are also a bunch of people from this Cosmos. Creating materials requires knowing Laws. I would assume most outsiders are Materializers.'
The Supervisor brought Kyle to his new Workshop, which was quite a lot bigger than his last Workshop.
"The basic training manual can now be accessed," the Supervisor transmitted. "Read through it. In 50 years, you will receive your tasks. Make sure to hire at least two Stone Conjurers."Kyle nodded. The contract had mentioned Stone Conjurers, or as they were called by most people, Stone Slaves.
Stone Slaves were people from the other Cosmos who could conjure Energy Stones at ten times the speed of people from this Cosmos due to their Specializations. Half of the people who had failed the Screening became Stone Slaves.
Failing the Screening meant that the participants had to reimburse the FAD for the used materials. The easiest way to do so was to become a Stone Slave. However, Stone Slaves could also use their job to learn more about Formation Arrays. It was a bit like being a dishwasher in a restaurant. As a dishwasher, one could learn a lot about cooking by watching the cooks and asking them for some advice.
"Contact me for your basic certifications before you start your duties," the Supervisor said. "Your certifications decide what jobs will become available to you. You can take each certification once for free. If you fail, you have to pay for the next one."
Kyle nodded again. "I will. Thanks."
"Goodbye," the Supervisor transmitted before vanishing.
Kyle opened the basic training manual and started to read through it. He already knew about most of the things in the training manual, but there were still a couple of new things.
'Shouldn't be too hard,' Kyle thought as he requested a couple of certifications.
Some time later, the Supervisor appeared again. "We will now start your exams."
Afterward, the Supervisor gave Kyle a list of materials he had to create. All of them were related to the Major Fire and Major Metal Laws.
Kyle conjured all of the materials easily, and the Supervisor gave him the certificate of Major Fire and Major Metal Material Conjuring.
Then, Kyle received another list of materials.
Every Materializer needed to have at least one certificate. Otherwise, they couldn't accept any jobs.
After a couple of hours, Kyle collected 15 certificates. Every kind of basic material related to the Major Elements had been unlocked, but he wasn't done yet.
Kyle finished another certificate, and this one was a bit more unusual. This was the Major Omni-Elemental Material Conjuring Certificate. These materials were hard to produce, which made them rare and valuable when compared to basic materials. Sadly, there were still plenty of Immortals who knew all of the Major Elements. As an Immortal, it wasn't difficult to comprehend Level Six Elemental Laws without an Affinity. It just took longer.
Kyle got the certificate without issues, but he wasn't done yet.
Next, Kyle completed some certificates related to four of the Immortal Elements. These materials were worth about as much as the Major Omni-Elemental Materials, but that was mainly related to their Energy content, not rarity. Almost all Immortals knew two or three Laws related to the Immortal Elements.
When Kyle got all of his certificates, he sighed. "I've got a question."
"Ask your question instead of stating that you have one," the Supervisor transmitted.
"Do you think I have a chance of getting a certificate for Advanced Materials?" Kyle asked.
"No," the Supervisor answered. "The records of your Screening have been reviewed by me during your evaluation. Your insights into Advanced Materials are basic and scattered. You've not undergone methodical and structured education in Advanced Material Conjuring. Learning materials are available in the shop."
"Sure, thanks," Kyle transmitted.
"Goodbye," the Supervisor transmitted before vanishing.
'Still a lot to learn,' Kyle thought as he looked at his Communicator. Since he now had several certificates under his belt, he could use the revenue calculator for Materializers.
The revenue calculator looked at the average value of materials, availability of jobs, certificates, and several other things to estimate the productivity of a Materializer.
When Kyle saw the result, his brows rose. 'That's better than expected! I can actually pay for my access to the Law Wells without any problems. I should have it paid off before I'm even done.'
'I will also have enough to purchase several Guides.'
'In fact, this is exactly what I wanted when I came here! The reason why I'm in the FAD to begin with is that I want an easy and cheap way to learn more about Formation Arrays. With these prices and my output, I can basically learn about Formation Arrays without having to take a break, and I will even make money while doing so!'
'The path is finally clear. As long as I keep working and learning, I will become a Beginner Immortal Formation Array Master! At that point, our Excursion Team will also have a Formation Array Master.'
'I just need to look at my actual output and see how much focus I need to dedicate to the Abyss Hammer Team. Then, I can hire an appropriate number of Stone Slaves to optimize production. When everything's put in place, I just have to keep going and learn.'
Kyle planned for his future and prepared everything.
Since he was no longer in the Screening, his Avatars were no longer restricted. Black would remain in the Workshop to conjure materials. White went to the Level Seven Law Wells. White was essentially just idling there since he already knew the Laws. He just had to act like he was comprehending Laws. Lastly, Grey would focus on reading the Guides and exchanging knowledge with other Materializers in the halls.
When the jobs became available, Kyle did a test run to see how much he needed to work to produce materials. After around a decade, he was pretty sure that he had gotten the hang of things. That was when Grey hired six Stone Slaves.
The Stone Slaves would spend 50% of their time conjuring Energy Stones for Kyle. In exchange, they received several valuable materials and free time. They could use these materials to further their studies. With enough work and time, they might be able to pass the Screening sometime in the future.
The Abyss Hammer Team had entered a comfortable rhythm. They were earning money, and Kyle finally gained access to valuable learning materials for Formation Arrays.
In the blink of an eye, 50,000 years passed. Kyle had learned a lot about Formation Arrays during this period, but he still was not a Beginner Immortal Formation Array Master.
Sadly, time waited for no one.
The first Excursion for Kyle's Excursion Team would soon take place.
