Chapter 1195: Unreachable Valuables

Chapter 1195: Unreachable Valuables

Team Ankylosaurus settled into one of the free spots. Sebastian and Abyssal Depths left one of their two Avatars here, while Kyle left Green here. Choosing Green to stay was the correct move since it was objectively the worst Avatar.

Technically, the team would be leaving with five Avatars since Sebastian's weapon was also an Avatar, but nobody knew that. Leaving with four Avatars was considered a bit risky, but it wasn't much worse than leaving with five.

"Alright, ready to go?" Red asked the team.

"Ready," Abyssal Depths and Sebastian replied.

"Then, let's go!" Red transmitted as he activated the catapult for two Grade Nine Energy Stones.

Energy gathered around the team as a humongous Formation Array moved them upward. If they wanted, they could resist the force moving them, but there was no reason to. After all, they had paid for this service.

The team was pulled towards a height of over a million kilometers before they stopped. Then, more Energy gathered around them, which moved them towards a random direction.

Gravity, time, and space warped around them as the warping reality accelerated them to speeds they couldn't reach with their own powers. Within just a couple of seconds, they reached speeds that surpassed their top speeds by over a hundred times.

They circled the humongous Planet for about a minute before Kyle sent the launch signal.

BANG!

The force keeping them anchored to the Planet suddenly vanished, and the team was catapulted away from the Planet.

This was the catapult. Going on an Excursion without the catapult was risky since the surroundings were covered in Excursion Teams preying on other Excursion Teams. On their journey back, the Excursion Teams would still need to get through the net of waiting teams, but with the catapult, they didn't need to traverse this dangerous area twice.

Within moments, the team left the surroundings of Wild's Summit. Their Divine Consciousnesses were suppressed to a pitiful level, but it was still enough. In a second, they could traverse a distance that outclassed the range of their Divine Consciousness over twenty times, but a second was also a long time for an Immortal. If someone launched an attack from just outside their Divine Consciousness, they would still have enough time to react.

In the wilds of the Immortal Dimension, close distances were navigated with Divine Consciousnesses while long distances were navigated with one's eyes.

As Kyle flew through the emptiness of space, he saw a complicated web of Planet Chains. No matter in which direction one looked, at some point, their vision would be blocked by a Planet or a Planet Chain.

The four Avatars used the force granted by the catapult to move as far away from Wild's Summit as possible. Over a couple of minutes, they flew past hundreds of Planets of different sizes.

"This should be a good spot," Abyssal Depths transmitted. The team used their Energy to slow their speed and slowly veered to the side, aiming for a Planet.

Their target Planet was covered in a thick sheet of volatile ice. The ice was partially cold and partially hot, creating several spots of instability. The differences in temperature led to explosions and implosions all over the Planet. These explosions were nothing to laugh at. Several Immortals had already been killed by these explosions, but the danger of this Planet also made it a good spot to land. Many hunting Excursion Teams used Formation Arrays, and the unstable environment made it almost impossible to create Formation Arrays here.

"This is a Failed Law Well, right?" Kyle asked as they approached the Planet.

"Yes," Abyssal Depths answered. "This Planet most likely used to be filled with Sentient Water, but a Planet filled with Sentient Fire either collided with it or appeared inside of it. The two Elements are fighting, making it impossible for a Natural Law Well to form. It's possible to split the Planets, but the resources needed are unreasonable."

Kyle looked at the Planet. 'This is the first time I've seen an Elemental Level Eight Law in the wild. Sentient Water... as far as I know, Sentient Water doesn't try to mimic life like Immortal Water. Instead, it technically is already alive. It can feel and somewhat think like a small animal, but it can't assume the form of life.'

'Based on what I heard, the Sentient Elements all have different personalities. Sentient Water is usually peaceful, but it can turn violent if attacked. Sentient Fire, on the other hand, is always violent. Due to their instincts, the two Sentient Elements are fighting, trying to eliminate each other. Luckily, we're still below the threshold. We're so weak that they don't consider us a threat. From what I've heard, Major Immortals have to avoid these kinds of Planets unless they're powerful enough to resist their power.'

The four Avatars approached the Failed Law Well but stopped just a million kilometers away from its surface. Sufficiently powerful explosions could still hit them from this distance, but they would most likely not get hit. Getting any closer would be suicidal since the explosions were almost constant.

Luckily, Sentient Water and Sentient Fire absorbed the potential of reality to fuel their powers like the Major Elements. This lessened their gravitational pull significantly.

"And we've arrived," Kyle transmitted. "What do we do now?"

"Now, we search," Abyssal Depths answered. "Valuables are abundant yet rare. Finding them isn't that hard. Harvesting them is the hard part."

Abyssal Depths pointed towards the Failed Law Well. "Can you see it?"

"I sure can," Sebastian commented.

Near the surface of the Failed Law Well were countless small whirlpools of Elemental Energies. They appeared, disappeared, and moved around.

These were Vortexes that gathered Sentient Water and Sentient Fire Energies. If the team could harvest all of these Vortexes, they would have earned tens of Grade Nine Energy Stones.

"We can't harvest them from here, correct?" Kyle asked.

"No," Abyssal Depths answered. "Sentient Fire and Sentient Water Vortexes are unstable. If you try to put them in your Soul Space, they will collapse. You have to stabilize them with your own Energy. Using your Spirit won't work since you're not directly interacting with the Vortexes. Alternatively, you could also create a Vortex Harvesting Formation Array, but I don't think you can make one of those."

"Sadly, I can't," Kyle answered. "I don't know the blueprint, and even if I had the blueprint, I wouldn't have the skills to build one. I've heard that Vortex Harvesting Formation Arrays are on the level of Minor Immortal Formation Array Masters. I'm not even a Beginner Immortal Formation Array Master yet."

"We can see something valuable, but we can't harvest it," Abyssal Depths commented. "Get used to this feeling, because you're going to experience it many times. In fact, you can feel it again just by looking in that direction."

Abyssal Depths guided Kyle's eyes, and moments later, he could see something in the far distance. Even for an Immortal like Kyle, it wasn't easy to clearly discern what was happening from so far away.

A long, long distance away, Kyle could see several tiny dots moving back and forth, explosions occurring around them.

"This is a Feeding Frenzy," Abyssal Depths commented.

"Oh, that's a Feeding Frenzy?" Sebastian asked. "I thought those were rare."

"Relatively speaking," Abyssal Depths answered. "They rarely appear anywhere close to you, but you can see them regularly in the far distance. If you look closely, you can see a distortion in reality close to them. That's a Space Distortion. Several Excursion Teams noticed, and they've started fighting each other over it, creating a Feeding Frenzy."

"Assuming the winning team can harvest it, they would've made..."

"At least 15,000 Grade Nine Energy Stones," Kyle finished.

"Based on the size, more like 25,000," Abyssal Depths added.

Kyle looked at the Feeding Frenzy in the distance.

'Enough for a New Immortal to become a Medium Immortal.'
