Chapter 1207: Learning About Kyle

Chapter 1207: Learning About Kyle

Red narrowed his eyes.

'You know what? I think I should answer the question that everyone wants to ask.'

Sebastian waited while Abyssal Depths tried her best to stop herself from interfering. She had accepted Kyle as the leader, and she had to follow his orders.

However, if Kyle didn't accept the offer, they would be attacked by at least five Adept Immortals. She knew that Kyle was powerful, but he couldn't possibly win against three or more Adept Immortals with only two Avatars. She just hoped that Kyle wouldn't make a stupid choice.

The Leader of the Rock Turner Team narrowed his eyes as he noticed Blue moving towards the surface of the hole, a complex network of Formation Arrays in tow. Shortly behind Blue was a stream of violent Gravity Water. Naturally, since Blue could no longer stay at the bottom, he couldn't suppress the stream anymore.

"I think we're going to decline the nice offer," Red answered as he pulled out his hammer.

Sebastian smiled while Abyssal Depths became horrified.

Why?!

Why would he make such an idiotic choice?!

Abyssal Depths could see her Avatar dying. For what purpose? What was the point of refusing this offer?! They couldn't harvest all of the valuables here anyway! They simply weren't strong enough yet!

And now, this idiot had doomed them!

Abyssal Depths' hands shook as she tried to keep her reaction in check.

Should she abandon the team? Nobody would fault her if she refused such a stupid order. Sure, abandoning one's team was frowned upon, but nobody would judge her. After all, her leader had made an insane decision that would kill the entire team! She could still save her Avatar.

"Why?!" Abyssal Depths transmitted to Kyle with enraged urgency. "What can we possibly gain here?!"

Red just smirked with arrogance but didn't answer. For once, Kyle would allow himself to go wild, within reason. He still couldn't show his true power, but today, he would show a little bit.

'I'm going to answer everyone's question today,' Kyle thought.

Blue appeared behind Red, surrounded by several complex Formation Arrays.

'Why did the Protector talk to me? That's what you all want to know, right? Well, I'll give you an answer. That answer might not reflect the truth, but it will be believable enough.'

The Leader looked at Kyle with disgust. "For pride, you've doomed your team. Leaders like you are the curse of the Immortal Dimension. You promise safety and riches for your team, but when you have to take a step back to protect your team, your pride overshadows your mind."

The stream of Gravity Water shot out of the hole around the team.

Abyssal Depths gritted her teeth as she tried to make a decision of her own.

Run or fight?

She glanced at Sebastian, who seemed surprisingly calm.

Why was he so calm? Did he have so much faith in Kyle?

"You don't even realize that you've been played," Kyle transmitted to the Leader of the Rock Turner Team. "Don't you think that you're having it a bit too easy? I assume getting first dips on our treasures wasn't hard."

"Empty words," the Leader answered. "You see your weakness and try to stop the battle via intimidation. You believe you sound like a mighty wolf, but to us, you merely sound like a small cub."

The other members of the Rock Turner Team appeared beside the Leader. All of them had already changed their Imposing Laws to focus on their self. Different Elemental Energies gathered around them as they readied for battle.

The other teams in the surroundings watched silently. They had all heard about Kyle's meeting with the Protector, and they wanted to find out why the Protector had been so interested in a mere Beginner Immortal. There were plenty of possible reasons, ranging from unimportant to extremely important.

Kyle could be some kind of exceptionally powerful genius, but he could also just be someone with a suspicious background. Some of the people had noticed Kyle's confirmation status. He had undergone a Karmic Origin Search as a Beginner Immortal, which was very unusual. After all, Karmic Origin Searches were extremely expensive.

Most likely, the Protector had paid for the Karmic Origin Search, but why would she do that? Why would she pay so many Energy Stones without directly recruiting Kyle? Was there a problem with his identity? Was he a secret member of another Higher Supreme Organization?

They wanted to learn more about Kyle. Was he a buried treasure or a landmine?

The Rock Turner Team gathered Energy, preparing five individual attacks with their Imposing Laws. With so much Energy gathered in one spot, they couldn't possibly lose the clash.

Abyssal Depths gritted her teeth. Kyle seemed like an impulsive person, but she also knew that he was exceptionally powerful. If he could become that powerful, he couldn't be someone who misjudged his power. He had to be someone who knew when he couldn't take a fight.

So, even though she couldn't see any way in which they could emerge as the victors, she still decided to follow Kyle.

Kyle noticed that Abyssal Depths had entered the Formation Array together with Sebastian and smiled a bit. 'Sorry, but I couldn't resist. You've tested me as well, remember? Glad that you've decided to stick with us.'

"Any last words?" the Leader of the Rock Turner Team asked coldly. Their attacks were prepared and could be launched at any moment. On average, the five members had Imposing Laws with about 60% quality. This meant that their gathered attack would have 300% of the Energy an Adept Immortal had access to. This attack alone had more Energy than all of the reserves of Team Ankylosaurus.

"Yeah," Red answered as a Karmic Energy Source appeared behind him. "I can't control this very well. Be careful, okay?"

When the other teams saw the Karmic Energy Source, a small light appeared in their eyes. Creating a Karmic Energy Source was the first step to becoming a Beginner Immortal Formation Array Master. This was one of the major hurdles. Most likely, as long as someone managed to create a Karmic Energy Source, they would eventually become a proper Formation Array Master. They just needed time and resources.

Was this the reason why the Protector had talked to Kyle? As far as they knew, Kyle had just arrived in the Immortal Dimension. If he could create a Karmic Energy Source as a newly advanced Immortal, he might be exceptionally talented in the field of Formation Arrays. Did the Protector want to recruit him? Did she want to ask him if he was part of Inner World?

The Leader of the Rock Turner Team snorted. "Arrogant to the last moment. There's no point in talking to you any longer. Goodbye."

The Energy around them moved forward, mimicking the silhouette of a human body. All of the appendages of the silhouette had different colors since they were imbued with different Energies. This was a combined attack of five Imposing Laws.

"Goodbye," Red transmitted with a smile.
