Chapter 1208: Rock Turner Team

The Energy moved through Abyssal Depths before going to Sebastian. Then, it traveled to Blue before entering his hammer. The onlookers could see the movement of Energy, but they weren't sure what its purpose was. Was Blue gathering the Energy of everyone inside the Formation Array?

At the same time, the Karmic Energy Source shook. Moments later, the entire Formation Array shone with an iridescent light that could even blind Spirit Lords. It was like a gigantic star had appeared on the surface of the Planet.

Abyssal Depths became shocked when she realized something. While the onlookers couldn't see the purpose of the moving Energy, she could.

It was...

Just a show.

It didn't accomplish anything!

The silhouette reached them, and Blue swung his hammer forward with a mad grin. The silhouette launched an attack, and Blue's hammer hit it.

BOOOM!

The hammer and the silhouette clashed. Blue's hammer shook tremendously under the clash. Bursts of Energy shot out of Blue, reducing his Energy Storage to merely 20% of its maximum.

Yet again, Kyle was merely acting like he was taking damage. Sure, he was essentially fighting an attack that had three times the Energy he had access to when adding up the Energy of his Human and Weapon Avatars.

However, these attacks were launched with Imposing Laws that only had a quality of 60%. Such an Imposing Law had roughly the power of a Level Six or Level 6.5 Complex Law. Meanwhile, Kyle's body was infused with a Level Nine Law, and his Refined Law had the power of a Level 9.5 Law. There were three Levels of quality separating the two sides.

BANG!

The silhouette exploded into Energy, shaking the surroundings. The geyser of Gravity Water was dispersed, spreading across the battlefield.

The onlookers fell into shocked silence.

The attack had been blocked?

How?!

The Rock Turner Team couldn't think anymore. Their minds refused to believe that this had just happened.

"I've used most of my Energy to block yours," Kyle transmitted. "Sorry if my counterattack won't be as impressive."

Just when his voice transmission arrived, Red swung his hammer as well. He weakened his Refined Law to just 20% of its power before launching an illusory hammer.

The illusory hammer shot out of the Formation Array at incredible speeds, targeting the Leader.

A feeling of mortal threat washed over the Leader.

"Defend!" one of his teammates transmitted as she summoned her Domain. All five of them had the Infused Law of Primordial Forces.

The other four also activated their Domains, warping reality as much as they could. Several tears of reality appeared between the hammer and their team. At the same time, they moved to the side, trying to avoid the attack.

The illusory hammer broke through the tears, weakening in the process.

When they saw that it hadn't been stopped yet, they used their External Laws to create several barriers.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The hammer broke through the defenses, growing even weaker.

Finally, it reached the Leader.

"All together!" one of them transmitted. Without hesitation, the four members joined their Leader and launched attacks. During this critical moment, the team had decided to stand united against the incoming attack.

BANG!

Energy exploded out of the Leader's body, pushing the other members away. The other members looked at their Leader in shock and horror, while the Leader just looked at the attack with conviction.

'I made this choice,' the Leader thought. 'The consequences of my actions are mine to bear.'

The Leader released a punch.

The punch and the illusory hammer hit.

There was no sound.

The hammer just vanished.

During that moment, the only one who experienced time was the Leader.

A world of shadows. Grimaces in the darkness that were gnawing at his soul. Existence hated that he was part of it. Hostility and hatred. Images of people he had killed long ago.

Karmic Calamity.

Storms of Energy burst out of the Leader as his body grew unstable and uncontrollable.

The others didn't know what had happened to him, but they knew one thing.

Their Leader had survived!

Luckily, he had only been hit by a severely weakened version of Karmic Calamity.

"Protect him!" one of the members shouted as he saw a terrifying lance of lightning shooting towards their Leader. At the same time, Abyssal Depths launched an illusory attack with her Imposing Law. Naturally, Kyle wasn't alone in this battle.

They combined their Domains to block Abyssal Depths' attack since she was the only Adept Immortal on the enemy team. Abyssal Depths' attack shot through several Space Tears, weakening a bit. Then, several defenses appeared between her attack and its target.

At the same time, the team also defended from Sebastian's attack, but they didn't dedicate as much Energy to it.

The lightning lance shot through the hastily-constructed defenses.

The eyes of the target, a random member of the team, opened in shock and horror.

The lightning lance reached her.

BANG!

She exploded, and at the same time, materials, equipment, and Energy Stones appeared around her annihilated corpse.

BANG!

Abyssal Depths' attack also hit one of the members, but by working together, the team managed to save that member.

"We have to retreat!" one of the members transmitted to the Leader, who was still looking around in confusion.

When he heard the urgent voice transmission, the Leader regained some of his bearings. The Energy in his body was still chaotic, but he managed to keep the chaos under control.

"Retreat!" the Leader transmitted to his team. "I'll buy you some time!"

"Here's one for the road!" Red transmitted as he swung his hammer again. Once more, an illusory hammer shot towards the Leader.

The Rock Turner Team was almost out of Energy. Defending from this attack would prove to be impossible. However, they knew that Kyle couldn't possibly launch more of these attacks. Most likely, this would be his last one.

The Leader looked at the attack with conviction. He would block this attack for everyone else.

BANG!

A blue-haired woman from his team suddenly grabbed him and threw him in the opposite direction. The Leader's mind stopped as he saw the smile on her face.

"Why?!" the Avatar of the Leader in the Excursion Lobby transmitted to the Avatar of the blue-haired lady beside him.

"I have three Avatars. You only have two. You're our Boss. I can afford to lose one," she transmitted with a smile.

"No! This is a Soul Attack! You will die!" he transmitted. At that point, the hammer had already reached her.

She just smiled.

"I know."

The hammer hit.

The Leader's eyes widened in horror.

The hammer vanished.

On the Planet, in the Excursion Lobby, and in the headquarters of Extended Family, a blue-haired lady lost all strength and fell over.

The Leader just looked at the two Avatars he could sense with horror and disbelief.

Slowly, her Avatars started to disperse into Energy. Her Spirit had been destroyed.

Moments later, all of her valuables appeared around her dead Avatars.

"NOOOOO!" he screamed.

His two remaining comrades grabbed him and pulled him away. "We must leave!"

The Leader gritted his teeth in unwillingness. He wanted to fight to his last breath, but he knew that he would just be wasting his comrade's sacrifice.

Team Ankylosaurus watched as the three remaining members of the Rock Turner Team fled into the distance. If he wanted to, Kyle could keep launching more attacks. However, he had to act like he was out of Energy.

"Sorry about your teammate," Kyle casually transmitted to the other team. "I told you that it's hard to control this thing."

When the Leader heard Kyle's comment, his mind reached a new level of hatred.

"You'll pay! I'll make all of you pay!" the Leader transmitted.

"Extended Family will kill you and everyone you love! Mark my words!"

The Rock Turner Team fled into the distance.

"Very dramatic," Green said as he turned to the Avatars of the Rock Turner Team in the Excursion Lobby. "But your words have made things awkward. How are we supposed to keep sitting beside each other in the Excursion Lobby after you've made such a dramatic exit?"
