Strongest Mage with the Lust system

Chapter 1028: Bloodline Ability: Overdrive

Chapter 1028: Bloodline Ability: Overdrive

Shing!

His saber flashed and the beast was decapitated.

Thud!

By the time it fell to the ground, he had also rushed away. But the slight delay had allowed Patriarch Nie to close the distance between them a bit more. Now he was just 350 meters away from him.

Max didn’t mind it. In fact, he wasn’t even thinking about it as his shining eyes focused on the system screen that showed the notifications.

[You have killed an early-stage Tier 4 Dark Attributed Beast.]

[You have gained +300,000 Kill Points.]

With a thought, his status screen appeared before him.

[Cultivation: Bone Tempering, 4th Layer] (+)

[Lust Points: 200,000]

[Kill Points: 700,000]

Without wasting even a moment, he clicked the (+) symbol.

[Do you want to use 100,000 Lust Points and 700,000 Kill Points to increase your cultivation to Bone Tempering, 5th Layer? (Yes)/(No)]

‘Yes’ he clicked yes and pain exploded throughout his body.

“Argh!” He growled and because he had to continue running while enduring it, his eyes became bloodshot.

As if it wasn’t enough, he heard the beastly growls followed by footsteps rushing in his direction from the side.

Glancing over, he saw two horse-like beasts rushing over, their dark eyes filled with dense murderous intent as if he had killed their family members, which the last two beasts were most likely.

Both of these beasts were well over three meters, meaning they were stronger than the last two beasts he killed. And since they were two, the fight wasn’t going to be easy.

This was precisely what Patriarch Mi thought and began pushing himself to run faster so he could save him. After all, if Max died, he might not get either of the things he wanted from him.

However, suddenly…

“Come on, you lowly beasts!” Max let out a loud growl that reverberated throughout the area and his eyes became filled with incomparable madness and a hint of regal authority.

Ba-Dum! Ba-Dum!

His muscles compressed, his breathing became sharper and his heart began to beat faster, pumping more blood to provide him with more energy to use while his mind grew calmer despite his hyper excited state.

He had activated the bloodline ability of his Garfield Bloodline: Overdrive.

Swoosh!

Bang!

Max met the beasts head on and slashed towards one of their necks. The saber was significantly faster than before but before it could touch the beast’s neck, the other one slapped its clawed legs at it and the impact made him lose balance while the beast’s claws cracked.

The first beast, who Max had almost killed, became more enraged and taking advantage of him being off balance, opened it maw wide and bit at his head.

Katcha!

Max saw its sharp teeth just half a foot away from his face but it didn’t scare him. His hand moved and the saber came from an impossible anger and stabbed through its jaw, coming out from the top.

Unfortunately, because its mouth was long like a horse, he missed its brain and the beast didn’t die.

While the beast neighed in pain, Max noticed the other beast swiping its claw at the back of his neck.

He could have let go of the saber and easily dodged it, but a ruthless glint flashed in his eyes. He raised his shoulders, covering the back of his neck with his iron-hard muscles then planted his feet beneath the first beast, grabbed the saber’s hilt with both hands and pushed in the direction of its head.

Puchi!

A second beast’s claw tore through his shoulder muscles, but the pain it caused was nothing in front of what he was already feeling because of his cultivation leveling up.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The saber tore through the first beast’s mouth, then slashed through the middle of its head, then neck before coming out.

Max stared into its eyes as the signs of life vanished from them.

Next moment, he completely ignored it and spun on his heels, his dark, emotionless gaze fixing on the second beast who was in the midst of stretching its neck out to bite him into two.

“Stupid beast!” His voice rumbled as his muscles, starting from the upper back to his wrist tightened and he swung the saber with all his might.

Crack!

The blade clashed with its teeth which broke instantly, then the saber’s blade cut into its jaws, slicing off half of its mouth.

Clang!

Bang!

He slashed again, this time to decapitate it but the beast raised its front legs up and swiped both its claws at the saber. The sound of metal striking against metal echoed and the saber slowed down significantly.

Max saw a hint of joy flash in the beast’s eyes and he sneered.

The next moment.

Crunch! Bang!

Its touch claws snapped and the strength Max had put into the saber propelled it forward.

Katcha!

The saber flashed through its neck and a crisp sound of blade slicing through the flesh and bone echoed. A moment later, the beast’s neck slid down its body and thudded to the ground.

Almost at the same time, the Patriarch Mi arrived and the pain Max was feeling vanished as his cultivation entered the 5th layer.

Holding the saber dripping with dark blood of the beast in his right hand, Max slowly turned towards Patriarch Mi, who now had a solemn look in his eyes, and touched his ripped upper back with his left hand.

Glancing at his blood, he glanced at the now-dead beast and his lips curved up in a condescending and said, “After injuring me, you should be proud in the afterlife.”

He then shifted his gaze to Patriarch Mi and took a strong step toward him.

Crunch!

His feet stepped on a rock which broke into pieces.

“You are Mi family’s head, huh? Want me to hand over my secret and the Golden Book, is that right?” He asked.

Patriarch Mi’s eyes narrowed. While he was taller than Max, at this moment, he felt as if Max was looking down upon him.

“Speak!” Max snapped when he didn’t respond immediately.

Patriarch Mi felt a rush of rage and he also took a step forward, “You insolent brat! Killing a few fourth tier beasts doesn’t give you the right—”

“Shut your trap, you old bastard!” Max’s cold shout interrupted him and the next moment, he shot toward him, his saber raised overhead, gripped with both hands.

Rage burned through Patriarch Mi but before it could erupt, he saw Max attack and became stifled.

Gritting his teeth, he took out an iron mace out of nowhere and met the incoming saber with it.

Clanggg!

The moment their weapons collided, however, his heart skipped a beat because the strength behind the saber strike was a lot more than he had expected. And because he had launched a hasty block, he wasn’t able to output as much power.

‘How can he be so powerful?!’ He inwardly cried out in disbelief but didn’t forget to put more strength into his mace to properly block the saber.

Right then, he suddenly felt much of the force behind the saber vanish.

Immediately, his danger sense flared but before he could react…

Bang!

A hard kick struck his abdomen and sent him staggering back.
