Chapter 1029: Rampage [1]
Chapter 1029: Rampage [1]
His expression dark, he quickly regained his balance while trying not to throw up blood and got ready to defend against Max’s follow up strikes.
To his surprise, however, none came.
When he saw Max had vanished into the distance, his expression became incomparably ugly.
He didn’t rush to chase him, however, and instead waited in place.
A short while later…
Swoosh! Swoosh!
His two companions arrived. Seeing the corpses of the dark beasts, their expressions hardened because they could tell Patriarch Mi hadn’t killed them because if he had, their heads would have been smashed.
“…Did the boy kill them, Patriarch Mi?” One of them asked.
Patriarch Mi frowned in impatience but since he needed their help, he responded, “Yes. He is unexpectedly quite strong.”
The duo’s expressions fluctuated. When Max had split Liu Bashan into two, they had already felt some fear but they had told themselves that he had killed him so easily because Liu Bashan had been too reckless and it had given them the courage to continue to chase him.
But seeing these two beast corpses, they knew even if they were fully alert, they still wouldn’t be his match.
Patriarch Mi could tell what they were thinking, so he said, “…Individually, neither of you is his match. I doubt you will still be on the backfoot even if you were to face him together.”
As the duo’s expressions became grimmer, he added, “However, I can kill him. But he is too slippary. So I need your assistance. After I deal with him, I’ll… share the benefits with you two.”
The duo’s eyes gleamed. After exchanging a glance between them, they said, “Patriarch Mi, we can help you, but you have to swear a Dao Oath that you wouldn’t harm us after dealing with the boy.”
Patriarch Mi gave them a look but he didn’t show much dissatisfaction, having already expected this. He then swore an oath.
“Let’s go now. We can’t let him go too deep into the valley.” Patriarch Mi said.
“We aren’t waiting for Song Heiran?” One the two asked.
Patriarch Mi sneered, “That coward, I doubt he has the guts to even enter the valley.”
Swoosh! Swoosh!
The trio shot into the direction Max had left.
…
Crack!
Not long after they vanished, a figure appeared before the beast corpses.
“They think I’m cowardly, huh?” The figure, who was none other than Song Heiran murmured under his breath. He wasn’t made of clay, so he felt humiliated and angry at such disrespect, but… he valued his life a lot more than his ego.
Therefore… After staring at the corpses for a short while, he turned around and decisively left the valley, no longer wanting to follow and watch Max die with his own eyes.
‘If that greedy bastard returns, it means the boy has died, if not…’ He didn’t finish the thought, ‘Let’s just hope he can kill him otherwise, my days will be numbered.’
…
Swoosh!
Max’s expression was cold as he shot towards the depths of the valley. He didn’t like the fact that he had to flee again but he had no choice. He still wasn’t strong enough to face Patriarch Mi.
‘Just you wait, I’ll definitely make you beg for mercy on your knees before I slaughter you.’ He swore.
Right then, he sensed some movement ahead and his senses focused.
A moment later, he saw the origin of the movement and he slammed his feet into the ground and came to a screeching halt, his expression turning incomparably solemn.
He had expected more beasts to appear before him and he would have welcomed their presence because they were his kill points.
However… he hadn’t expected so many to appear at the same time.
His gaze swept across the herd of horse-like beasts, all of whom were well over three meters tall and one of them was over four meters.
“Seven…” He counted the number as his grip on the saber tightened.
The next moment, his eyes gleamed with madness and he unconsciously licked his lips, “Six early-stage Tier 4 and one Mid-stage Tier 4… More than enough for me to reach 6th Layer.”
Khiiiii! Grrrr~
As if the beasts didn’t like the look on his face, they neigh-growled in anger, then rushed toward him furiously with the mid-stage, Tier 4 beast leading them.
Bang!
Not wanting to stay passive, Max shot off towards them, the ground exploding beneath his feet.
Just a few seconds later, Max was less than ten meters away from the mid-stage Tier 4 beast. It was then he suddenly slammed his feet on the ground, lowered his stance before he suddenly jumped.
Because both parties were rushing towards each other very fast and Max’s jump had been instant, before the mid-stage beast could react, Max was already above him.
The beast growled and its neck shot upwards to bite him but it was a bit too late as Max’s saber was already chopping down at its head.
BANG!!!
Crack! Crack!
The saber slammed into its hard head and Max felt the impact in his hands. The next moment, two cracking noises sounded, one was crisp, the sound of the beast’s skull breaking and the other was very faint and it made Max frown because it was the saber cracking.
Grrrrool!
The beast roared in pain and flung its head back which sent Max flying to the back of the herd.
Thud!
A moment later, he landed on the ground, feeling a sting in his shins from the impact. Ignoring it, however, he looked at his saber and saw a crack running horizontally near the tip.
For a moment, he thought how could the best quality weapon among the Low Grade Spirit Weapons be so brittle, then he realized it wasn’t that the blade was brittle, what it struck was just too damn hard.
‘That damned beast. Why did it have to move its head?’ He raged, but then he caught himself and a bitter smile appeared on his face.
He was becoming a bit too unreasonable under the influence of the Garfield Bloodline. But lowkey, he didn’t dislike it because the feeling of genuinely considering everyone beneath himself was… quite good.
Shaking his head, he glanced at the herd and saw the mid-stage beast staggering and thrashing its head around while the other beasts stared at it, seemingly in concern.
“Oye, I don’t have time to waste on your lot.” He shouted, attracting the herd’s attention.
Swoosh!
As they turned around, Max had arrived next to the weakest of the beast and swung his saber vertically from below.
Katcah!
Shing!
A wet sound echoed as the saber cut through its fleshy neck followed by a metallic sound caused by the saber cutting through its neck bone.
Swoosh!
The next moment, blood spilled as the saber came out from the top and the beast’s neck flew in the air.
[You have killed an early-stage Tier 4 Dark Attributed Beast.]
[You have gained +400,000 Kill Points.]
…
[Lust Points: 100,000]
[Kill Points: 400,000]
…
‘Nice.’ His eyes gleamed with glee, then he hurled himself over the collapsing beast.
Swoosh!
Puchi!
A large claw slashed the dead beast’s back, sending the flesh and blood flying. It missed his neck by just an inch. If he had reacted even a split second later than he did, he would have died.
Ba-Dum!
His heart throbbed violently in his chest but it wasn’t because of the fear but… maddened excitement.
