Chapter 1030: Rampage [2]
Chapter 1030: Rampage [2]
Max fixed his predatory gaze on the beast that sneak attacked him.
SWOOSH—!
He then rushed towards it in a beeline, weaving through the other beasts. The beasts weren’t going to just let him go unharmed, especially after he had seriously injured their leader who was still thrashing its head around. They attacked him furiously.
In his stimulated state induced by the Overdrive, he no longer cared whether he would be injured, his eyes fixed upon the beast.
Still, he hadn’t completely lost his mind so he did his best to dodge the attacks. Thanks to his heightened reaction time, he was quite successful too, unfortunately though, because he was rushing towards them, it was inevitable that he would be hit—several attacks landed on him and ripped deep wounds all over his body, causing hot blood to pour out in streams.
Bang!
When he arrived before his target, his entire body was covered in blood but there was only increasing madness in his eyes which had gained a golden tint.
“Let me return the favor.” He said with a wide smile on his face before he put himself in a spot where the beasts couldn’t attack him immediately and swung the saber.
SHING—!
Dark blood and a horse neck flew in the air.
[You have killed an early-stage Tier 4 Dark Attributed Beast.]
[You have gained +450,000 Kill Points.]
…
[Lust Points: 100,000]
[Kill Points: 400,000→850,000]
…
“Haaa!” Max exhaled deeply and watched the beast collapse with dark satisfaction burning in his chest. At the same time, he also felt his Garfield Bloodline stir as if it was cheering in joy.
‘Oh?’ Suddenly he felt a vague tug in his mind but before he could investigate it, the remaining five beasts lunged at him.
“Come on!” He bellowed before meeting them head on.
Immediately…
Ripp!
One of the beasts’ claws tore through the back of his upper robe while also tearing a long wound on his back. If Max hadn’t thrown himself forward, he would have met the same fate as Liu Bashan.
However, this injury was worth it because the next instant…
SHING—!
His saber had beheaded the second beast.
[You have killed an early-stage Tier 4 Dark Attributed beast.]
[You have gained +410,000 Kill Points.]
…
[Lust Points: 100,000]
[Kill Points: 850,000→1,260,000]
…
Swoosh!
Bang!
Instantly after the kill, Max threw himself to the side and slammed against one of the beasts.
Bang!
Just a split second later, two large claws landed where he had been, causing the ground there to explode.
Ba-Dum! Ba-Dum!
His heart beating violently, he stabbed the saber into the beast’s belly before he let it go and rolled to the side.
Slam!
Just a moment later, another beast slammed its head where he had been. Since he had moved out of the in time, the beast’s thick head slammed into the saber hilt and drove it into the earlier beast’s belly, making it let out a pained neigh.
‘That wasn’t a smart move.’ Max pursed his lips, regretting leaving the saber behind just to inflict some meaningless injuries on the beast.
Excluding the mid-stage beast that was now sprawled out to the side, occasionally twitching, there were four beasts still alive. Without the saber, especially because he had accumulated significant injuries, it was going to be extremely difficult for him to deal with them.
Swoosh!
The thought only lasted for a split second before he charged out of their encirclement and glanced at his status screen.
The (+) symbol behind his cultivation had appeared. Just as he was about to click it, another system message flashed before him.
[You have killed a mid-stage Tier 4 Dark Attributed beast.]
[You have gained +730,000 Kill Points.]
[Kill Points: 1,260,000→1,990,000]
Max’s eyes flicked to the mid-stage Tier 4 beast, his lips curving into a grin, “You couldn’t have died at a better time.”
Instantly he clicked the (+) symbol and selected the option to use only Kill Points.
The next moment, 1.3 million Kill Points were deducted and he staggered as his body convulsed which made him frown.
He then realized what had happened. Because the Garfield Bloodline’s ability, Overdrive, was active and at a deeper level at that, he didn’t feel the pain brought by the increase in his cultivation realm but it was there, burning in every part of his being. So he was naturally affected.
Growl-!
Swoosh!
The momentary pause allowed the beasts to catch up and the ones in lead immediately slammed their claws at the top of his head, wanting to smash him into a meat patty.
Fortunately, he reacted in time and jumped to the side.
BANG!
“Grrrrawwlll!”
The beasts growled in rage when they hit nothing but the ground, then they lunged at him, their large mouths opened wide to rip him into shreds.
Max rolled to the side, dodging three of them but it put him right in front of the fourth beast’s wide maw.
“Screw off!” He snorted in disdain as he reached out, grabbed its upper and lower jaws and exerted all his strength.
Crunch!
The beast’s mouth slammed shut and the impact broke several of its teeth.
Swoosh!
Max then rolled to the side again before he jumped to his feet and rushed away.
The beasts chased after him, overwhelming murderous intent swirling in their dark eyes.
A short while later, Max suddenly stopped in his tracks, turned around and grabbed one of the beasts by its neck with both hands. Then he exerted force, hurled it overhead before slamming it on the one other beast.
BANG!!!
CRACK!
Max’s cultivation had smoothly advanced to the 6th Layer of Bone Tempering and though the increase was of just one layer, he had become significantly stronger, so the impact of the beasts smashing against each other was very powerful.
The ground under them caved half a foot and the sound of their spines and rib cages snapping echoed in the area.
The other two beasts had stopped in place for a momentand stared at their companions, whimpering in pain, with a hint of fear in their eyes.
Max noticed the intent to escape appear in them too, but then their gazes landed on him and it vanished, replaced by wild rage.
He casually reached out and grabbed the hilt of the saber sticking out from the beast at the bottom and muttered, “You lowly animals dare to get angry at me?!”
“You really want to die.”
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
The moment these words left his mouth, he and the two beasts rushed at each other.
…
In the distance, Patriarch Mi stood with his two companions, watching this scene playing out with grim looks on their faces.
“He… has he lost his mind?” One of them asked, seeing Max’s bloody figure rampaging and slaying one beast after another.
At this moment, he was even having a hard time believing that Max was a human.
This ferociousness and ruthlessness…
Gulp!
He gulped and muttered uneasily, “He is definitely possessed by a demon.”
Patriarch Mi and the other person’s expressions turned grimmer.
“…That should be the case.” Patriarch Mi hesitantly said after a while, “This also explains why he suddenly reached the Bone Tempering.”
