Chapter 1471: Combination

"You... are going to die as brutally as possible. I will make sure you do!" Soul Eater roared while rushing toward Vivian.

Vivian’s expression turned grim. The power he unleashed had increased drastically. His speed was doubled at the very least.

In just an instant, Soul Eater was already right in front of her. However, Vivian’s reaction speed was much faster than his speed.

Right before he could reach her, a wooden wall had already appeared between them, blocking his path.

"It’s useless!" Soul Eater punched the wooden wall. The punch sucked the life out of the wooden wall and broke it apart.

However, Vivian had already seen this before. It had been playing in her mind for so many years.

Right after the wooden wall was destroyed, Vivian was already in motion to jump back.

"Heh. You’re not fast enough." Soul Eater acted as if he had expected this movement. It was good, but he was already prepared. His hand was moving faster than Vivian’s body, so he would definitely catch her.

First, he would get her eyes so that she couldn’t see anymore.

Unfortunately for him, this was what Vivian wanted in the first place.

Once he became complacent and thought he had the upper hand, three wooden spikes emerged from the ground and pierced his arm.

"!!!" Soul Eater widened his eyes. "What?"

The black cell was protecting his arms, but it wasn’t enough. It turned out that the wooden wall’s purpose was to block his view.

Vivian had already prepared a magic circle on the ground. Without the wooden wall, Soul Eater would see it and avoid it.

This magic circle increased the piercing power of the spikes, allowing them to pierce through the black cell.

Vivian smiled. These spikes were not ordinary spikes.

"Although I don’t like her, I don’t hate her either." Vivian muttered. Suddenly, the spikes released additional magic circles, which actually caused multiple spikes to grow from within his arms, ripping apart his flesh.

"Aaahhhh!" Soul Eater screamed in pain. He didn’t understand what was going on. He was supposed to be much stronger than her, but why would he be the one injured?

Vivian’s trick actually incorporated the idea from three people. She was using her own magic circle as the foundation, but the spikes that emerged later formed a pattern that made it more robust, making it impossible for him to pull his hand back. This came from her second father. The technique of the elf who was living in the wooden tree.

Last but not least, the technique of her rival, Melissa. She hid ’traps’ in her spikes so that the magic circles would be activated the moment they pierced the targets.

As a result, she could trap his entire arm.

"Kh." Soul Eater gritted his teeth. "Move!"

Before he could get away, Regina landed next to them with her sword slashing the arm.

"Aghhh!" Soul Eater screamed again. Regina redirected her swing to his neck this time, but Soul Eater twisted his body and punched her instead.

"Tsk." Regina wasn’t specialized in defense like Vivian, so she couldn’t react fast enough to block the attack.

The punch ended up blowing her away as her body bounced several times on the ground. She got back on her feet and pointed her sword forward while wiping the blood that leaked out of her mouth.

The punch was extremely painful because it was sucking her own power.

It was fortunate that she managed to muster enough power to withstand it and not let a single organ get damaged, but the amount of power required to block it was much more enormous.

Vivian, on the other hand, saw this as an opportunity. Since the other party was too busy to attack her, she could form her own magic circle. "Arrow of Schelnia."

"!!!" Soul Eater got blasted by arrow-shaped magic power and pushed back for several meters until the black cell transformed his feet into some sort of anchors, stopping the momentum completely.

Then, the black cell invaded and corroded the magic power, neutralizing the power.

Regina rushed to Vivian before speaking, "Your target is him, right? As we discussed, just focus on defending and finding a chance to attack. I will cut him as much as possible and deliver you that chance."

"Thank you. It’ll put a huge burden on you." Vivian was grateful for this arrangement. If it were Gaia, she would end up taking over the fight, so her revenge wouldn’t be satisfying.

But with Regina’s arrangement, she would be the one to end everything.

"Thank your man for this. It’s really a blessing to have him by your side." Regina wanted to add, ’It’s a shame that I’m not a part of it,’ but of course, she abandoned the idea since it would end up as a distraction on the battlefield.

Soul Eater’s eyes turned bloodshot. Even with the transformation, he didn’t expect that Regina and Vivian were still able to injure him this much.

This wouldn’t do. He had to kill both of them, even if it meant he would perish with them.

"Haaaa!" Soul Eater charged forward.

Regina did the same and waved her sword, clashing with Soul Eater’s fist.

Since the energy would be sucked by him, Regina intentionally produced a sharp but quick clash every time, reducing the amount of energy from being sucked.

In the meantime, Vivian waved down her wand. Multiple branches coming from the trees within this forest domain expanded, surrounding Soul Eater.

Then, those branches turned sharp like swords and stabbed him from all directions.

"Kh." Soul Eater endured the pain as the branches pierced his body.

Regina saw this opportunity and slashed him, but Soul Eater suddenly smiled.

Even though he got stabbed, he hadn’t finished his movement and wasn’t in the position to be stopped. So, he let the branches stab him to make Regina think she had the chance.

Then, she suddenly punched her.

"!!!" Regina widened her eyes. "Not good."

Fortunately, a wooden wall rose, blocking the path. It was a thin wooden wall so it would fit the gap, but it bought her enough time, not to dodge the attack, but to channel her energy into her left cheek.
