Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1623: Focus

Chapter 1623: Focus

"What a surprising statement from you." Anubis chuckled.

"What?" Orochi’s eyes twitched.

"You’re not supposed to be that rational. That’s what he means." Nidhogg rolled his eyes.

"What did you say?" Orochi felt like spitting his poison at them instead.

"However, what he says is true. Let our summoner handle the tactics. So, focus!" Xolotl took the lead this time.

Tiamat didn’t say anything. She had enough memory to understand what kind of Nathan was. However, this would be the first time she saw Nathan solving a hard problem.

They could probably overwhelm the enemy by working together, but they would spend too much energy. If there were another group of aliens, they would have to retreat.

That was why Tiamat was curious about how Nathan was going to solve this problem.

Evelyn and Luna didn’t understand what was going on. However, looking at Nathan just standing there without doing anything, they chose to leave him behind.

They had already gotten accustomed to Nathan’s weird tactics, so they thought this time would be the same.

Nathan took a deep breath. As Orochi said, it would be better if he focused on finding the solution.

"Hmm... the alien has immunity both to physical attacks and magical attacks. In other words, even Fenrir will have a hard time taking care of it. Tiamat’s attack doesn’t seem to be working that effectively either.

"On the one hand, this advantage can be considered a flaw as well. Since it has immunity, it means the alien’s attacks will be straightforward. It only has tentacles. In other words, size is its only weapon.

"On the other hand, that means its defense is absurdly high. We need to somehow negate that power.

"How? Can we focus our attack on one target? Or is the immunity the same in every part of its body?"

Nathan narrowed his eyes. "Tiamat, Xolotl, Nidhogg, and Orochi. Can the four of you focus your attack on a single spot?"

Nathan sent a destructive bullet and let it hit the alien’s tentacle. "There!"

Tiamat was still a little confused, but she chose to attack the spot together with the other three.

They released their breaths at the same time, overwhelming the tentacles.

Ultimately, the tentacle melted, causing the rest of the tentacle to fall off.

"What did you see? Can we overpower its immunity?" Nathan asked.

"We can," confirmed Tiamat. "However, it will take too much time. By the time we destroy all tentacles, it may have generated the same number of tentacles."

"No, it’s fine. It may be able to regenerate the tentacles, but those tentacles are so long. It will need a considerable amount of energy." Nathan then shouted, "Evelyn. We need to teleport that tentacle away."

Evelyn didn’t understand what was going on, but she still followed the instructions. To her surprise, she saw an encroaching tentacle. It was as if the alien were trying to regenerate the part and reattach it to the existing tentacle.

That was why Nathan wanted it to get away. This way, the alien couldn’t take a shortcut when recovering the tentacle.

"I see. That works then." Nathan smirked. "That will be the target. Tiamat, Orochi, Nidhogg, you three will target one tentacle. Luna, Xolotl, Garuda, you three will target another tentacle. Evelyn will be teleporting the tentacles away once they have been severed.

"Fenrir and the others will be distracting the enemy. Sera, your job is to focus on supporting those six people. Ready?" Nathan smirked and summoned his destructive bullets. He fired them into the sky and hit the tentacles, marking the targets.

Without missing a beat, they moved according to Nathan’s plan.

As expected, the alien noticed it right away and immediately sent more tentacles to stop them.

That was when Kun dove. He slammed the alien with his body. It would be impossible for the alien to stop him without using at least eight tentacles, so that would limit the number of tentacles the alien had to work with.

Then Fenrir and the others were working hard to distract the aliens. If the octopus focused too hard on Tiamat and the others, Fenrir would close in and strike the alien directly. After all, the damage to the body would be more severe than the damage on the tentacles.

It made the alien fall into a dilemma. The opponents were annoying. However, the surrounding aliens had a hard time saving him. There were even more familiars decimating the army.

The support team focused on tracking down the elite class aliens, making the alpha class alien isolated.

Nathan couldn’t help but smile that his plan had worked. "I couldn’t imagine if those three armies combined into one."

The familiars couldn’t decimate the army due to their numbers. Selena and the others couldn’t track down the elite class aliens because there were too many of them.

Iris would be in danger because there were high-ranking aliens that could command the lower-level aliens.

More importantly, there were other alpha class aliens, making the army impossible to destroy.

"Huuu..." Nathan couldn’t help but smile. He was fortunate that the problems could be divided. It looked like he had to thank Selena for suggesting the division.

"Still, I need to be prepared for the army of elite class aliens. One thousand is a number that our group can’t take head-on currently. If we can separate them as well, it may be good. But we don’t know where we will be able to find them or when they will come."

Nathan squinted his eyes. If only he had 13 years just like the original Nathan, he could probably make it work.

Unfortunately, he didn’t seem to have much time. Three years had passed since he came to this world.

He had to consider the worst option, which meant the aliens would come one year later.

Still, the aliens should be confused because Azathoth couldn’t figure Nathan out anymore since the body had changed its owner.

But it could also provoke Azathoth into taking measures for the unknown.

Nathan’s expression turned grim, thinking of many possibilities. It looked like they had failed to get a lot of useful information from this expedition.

Thanks to this alpha class alien alone, the entire town was destroyed, so they probably wouldn’t be able to find anything. The only thing that he could rely on was the Memory of the Dead.

"In that case, I should speed up this battle."
