Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1750: Cannon

Chapter 1750: Cannon

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

The clicking sound of metal had continuously echoed for three nights already. After she returned, Luna had been isolating herself in her workshop.

Nathan had helped her greatly, so she didn’t want to disappoint him. That was why she was doing everything she could to finish the prototype.

But after several days, she finally finished.

Nathan came after lunch as Luna guided him to the other side of the mountain.

"Look at this. I’ve finished the prototype." Luna spread her arms, showing her creation proudly.

Nathan was quite surprised to see a massive cannon. The cannon looked similar to a traditional one used with gunpowder to launch a heavy projectile.

However, the size was five times what he had in mind.

It looked even bigger than a ballista. In size alone, it was somewhere between a ballista and a catapult.

"What is this?"

"I haven’t given it a name yet." Luna smiled. "This should be more than enough to blow a mature class alien into smithereens. Thanks to Elder Thompson and Iris, I have finished the prototype."

Nathan carefully inspected it. "Is this going to be fine?"

"Yes. I think it’s best to just show it to you." Luna nodded. Her golems started moving around.

The energy from within the core was flowing into the machine. The accumulated energy was discharged from the long barrel.

It flew in a straight line, so it had to be aimed properly. In fact, Nathan could imagine that if this weapon were a success, it would be placed on top of the wall.

The energy ball flew very quickly. In just a few seconds, it covered two hundred meters.

Ultimately, it hit a tree and exploded.

Boom!

The explosion caused Nathan to widen his eyes. The size of the explosion wasn’t something he could underestimate, especially since this cannon was made by using normal humans as a standard.

This kind of blast was more than enough to kill a mature class alien. No, it would even kill other aliens nearby.

If it were a human army, it might be able to wipe out fifty to a hundred people at once if they stayed in a formation. The blast would blow away a thousand people around it.

That was just how strong the cannon was.

"How much ena did it require?"

"3,000 ena. It’s not meant to be used casually, but having one at the top of the wall should make the fortress even more powerful. However, this design can be improved further. If we place it not on top of the wall but within, it will be harder to be destroyed. I’m thinking of placing four of them at the top of the wall. I think each corner having one will be fantastic."

Nathan was impressed. Luna didn’t have much time, but she actually managed to create a weapon this powerful.

Iris was sitting on the side, leaning her body against the crate. She looked completely exhausted because she couldn’t keep up with Luna.

Still, she said in a tired voice. "Master. Even the God of Forging is saying that her smithing talent is equal to his. If she is developed properly, she can be another God of Forging, but that’s not what she wants... She had an argument with my familiar because of it."

"I want to become the Goddess of Magic." Luna nodded.

Nathan shook his head helplessly. "I will support you if you want to be the Goddess of Magic."

He couldn’t help but think, ’At this rate, in a few decades or so, Luna might end up creating a spaceship...’

Luna smiled. "What do you think? If everything is alright with you, I’m planning to ask Elder Thompson to proceed with the design and introduce it to the army. We’re asking for payment this time. The money will be used to train elites for our own household.

"I know you don’t want an army, but I’m thinking about a personal army that can protect this place or even serve as a reinforcement if necessary.

"Selena and Flora have made the plan, and Aris has agreed to execute it. If necessary, the Dragon King will also supervise everything," Luna explained.

"Yes, that works for me." Nathan nodded. He patted Luna’s head. "Thank you."

Luna grabbed his hand and slid it down to her cheek. "That makes me happy."

A small smile appeared on her face. It looked like he had done everything right. Little by little, the emotions that she had forsaken gradually returned.

Nathan smiled back. "You should take a rest."

"But..."

"No, but! If you think that you want to help me more, you have helped me more than enough. Besides, I would rather not worry about anything than receive help. I know you’re doing this to thank me, but I do all that just to see you smile. If you want to thank me, go to sleep and smile again tomorrow."

"Master. Is that even going to work? I wonder if I really should learn from you regarding romance!" Iris raised her hand.

"Mhmm. I will." Luna kissed him before leaving.

"..." Iris widened her eyes. "What? It worked?"

If Fenrir were here, he wouldn’t have any hesitation in saying, "Your master’s romance difficulty has been nerfed so much by his luck."

Nathan shrugged. "You worked hard as well. Get some rest. We’ll be having a meeting for the next expedition the day after tomorrow. It’s finally time for us to go to the Asura Palace."

"Oh!" Iris nodded. "I can finally fight again. This time, I have finally perfected my power! I’m ready for a blast."

Nathan shook his head helplessly, looking at Iris enthusiastically returning to the mansion. For some reason, she loved machines and guns, including the test drive. Whenever there was a chance to test the firepower, she would come. That was why she was here in the first place.

Nathan just chuckled and grabbed everything from here and forwarded it to Elder Thompson.

If they could find an energy source other than ena but didn’t destroy the world, they might actually be able to use it to power up everything.

"Maybe I should ask Luna to build a Dyson sphere? But I don’t know how the solar panel even works, let alone this Dyson sphere... Maybe we will hop into a futuristic alien race with a Type 2 civilization." Nathan nodded.
