Chapter 1863: Independent Control Unit Zeta

Chapter 1863: Independent Control Unit Zeta

"Helloooooo!" Nathan made a playful greeting while standing right outside the door, breaking it open so that the others could only see a portion of him with a bloodshot eye.

General Kgakga thought that his plan was foolproof. He was able to contain Nathan earlier, yet for some reason, Nathan was standing outside the cockpit.

"It looks like you’re having fun." She chuckled.

"So, we finally reached this place." Fenrir scoffed.

"I am tired of following this guy around. He’s too energetic." Qilin sighed.

"Good work." Mae waved her hand.

"I guess he has been having fun ever since he told the girls about his origin." Fenrir smiled. He was just glad that Nathan had finally begun appreciating his own life.

All this time, he was too desperate after all.

"I know, right? Did you notice that he never used the word ’Okay’ other than with us?"

"Now that you mention it..." Fenrir raised his head. "He didn’t use any words that this world didn’t."

"Yep." Mae smiled. "After telling them about his origin, he finally became more relaxed. I’m glad."

"It’s surprising that you notice that." Fenrir nodded in understanding..

"Of course I should notice that. I’m also his wife, you know?" Mae chuckled.

While they were chatting, Nathan had already entered the room. The soldiers were trembling as they held their weapons.

General Kgakga gritted his teeth while holding his sword. He rushed toward Nathan and slashed him.

Nathan used his barrier, but to his surprise, the blade was actually slicing through his barrier.

"Oh. A high-speed blade. That vibration is insane." Nathan knew that they were using laser guns, so he wanted to test their power again after he came up with something else.

It turned out General Kgakga was showing something even more unexpected.

"Unfortunately, it’s too slow." Nathan smiled. The next thing General Kgakga realized, Nathan had already disappeared from his vision.

Nathan grabbed General Kgakga’s neck from behind and lifted him up.

"Stop him!" The soldiers shot him.

This time, Nathan made a barrier and stayed intact. Surprisingly, the high-frequency blade was actually more powerful than the laser gun. In fact, this high-frequency blade was more powerful than the one Frequency used when he fought against that terrorist organization.

"Mae, can you do it on anyone?" Nathan asked. "Also, Fenrir, Qilin, good work out there!"

"Mhmm." Fenrir and Qilin nodded. Meanwhile, Mae entered and activated her power before shaking her head. "Sorry."

"It’s fine." Nathan nodded. Before he could do anything, he received a message from Ananta.

"My lord. This is Ananta, but we’re under attack right now. We will fight back. What is your decision?"

’You may fight back, but try not to kill anyone yet. I will give you an order to kill if there’s any within a few minutes. I’ve just arrived in the room where they control everything. Let me figure things out first.’

"Understood."

He looked around to get a good feel of the cockpit. It was spacious. If people were standing, they could easily fit in a hundred people.

But there were only twenty-five seats, so the commander led the battle while the other twenty-four people assisted him.

Still, when he scanned the room with his energy, he actually counted twenty-six people. There was one person who actually didn’t get the seat.

"Hmm?" Nathan raised his eyebrows and turned to the left, his eyes fixed on one person.

In this place, no one was wearing a spacesuit. They instead wore white uniforms. However, there was one person who was actually wearing a maid uniform.

She looked like a normal woman, but Nathan noticed that her ears were long and leaning upward as though they were acting like antennae.

"You?" Nathan frowned. "An AI?"

"I don’t know what you mean by AI."

"Artificial intelligence."

"If you are talking about an existence that is created through computation, then yes. I am the Independent Control Unit, Zeta." The woman introduced herself in a monotonous tone. "Why are you attacking us?"

"I should be the one asking you. Why did you try to harm me?" Nathan narrowed his eyes.

"Because you appeared in the Frozen Prison. We had suspicion that you were related to that being."

Nathan thought for a moment. "Looking at you... Are you perhaps... connected to the main AI, I mean the main control unit?"

She stopped for a moment before answering, "Correct."

"That makes it easy then. I came in peace. If you think what I’m doing is offensive, I’m intending to leave. But before continuing this, I want to make sure whether you are in charge or not."

"I am not in charge. However, you may think of me as connected to the central processing unit that can relay messages to the highest-decision maker."

Nathan nodded in understanding. "In that case, will you answer my question?"

"I will, but I think this is a little unfair. I would like to know everything about you as well so that I can determine whether you are a threat or not."

"I see. In that case, you should do one thing before that." Nathan pointed up. "Shouldn’t you stop them before my familiars destroy them?"

"You are correct."

Nathan looked up, noticing that the energy wasn’t fluctuating anymore. Ananta and the others seemed to have stopped fighting as well.

"Still, I will need to be compensated for this situation." Nathan narrowed his eyes.

"The compensation will be given fairly after confirming your existence."

"Very well. In that case, let’s do this. You ask me one question, I will ask you one question. Still, since you attacked me first, I will ask you first."

The woman nodded. "I understand. It shall be done that way."

"What is the empire?"

"Round Star Galactica Empire. This is a state that covers the Round Star and five adjacent stars. It’s ruled by the Central Possessing Unit." Zeta paused for a few seconds. "My question. What are you?"

"I am a human who has gone past the mortal limit. You should also know the word."

"A god?"

"Yes." Nathan nodded. "What are these guys? They look like humans in my world, but they’re also a part of machines."

"They’re cyborgs. People on our planet have two paths: scanning their lives into the system or becoming advanced humans—cyborgs."
