Chapter 1864: Round Star Galactica Empire

Chapter 1864: Round Star Galactica Empire

"They’re cyborgs. People on our planet have two paths: scanning their lives into the system or becoming advanced humans—cyborgs."

"Wow, you reproduce?"

"Yes. Everyone starts as a human baby. I’m sorry, it should be more accurate to say Ramanity. That’s how we spell our race. Anyway, the baby gradually grew and exchanged its body parts for those of machines. It would strengthen them. However, a few things couldn’t be replaced, such as important parts for reproduction, the heart, and the brain."

"To think that a race that can upload their consciousness to the machine will still think about reproduction." Nathan smiled.

"It’s related to the long history of our planet."

Nathan waved his hand. "In that case, forget about it. I am not exactly interested in your history yet."

"Understood. In that case, my question. What is your purpose in coming to this star system?"

Nathan thought for a moment before calling Mae and whispering to her.

Mae then produced an illusion about multiple aliens.

"Are you aware of these guys?" Nathan pointed at the illusion.

"Certainly."

"They’re aliens. We are chasing them and intend to settle things once and for all. We’re using their own system to travel to this faraway planet."

Zeta processed his information a bit before lowering her head. "In that case, we’d like to apologize for the inconvenience we’d caused you."

"It looks like you’re being attacked by them as well since you know them. And looking at that prison... Is it imprisoning one of them?" Nathan asked.

"We know them. We were originally unable to fight against them, so Ramanity developed us and turned into something like this."

"Unable to fight? Ah, I’m sorry. You must have been developing yourself for a very long time." He shouldn’t calculate the time from his world being invaded. Instead, he should calculate the time starting from the era between aliens and ancient gods.

Nathan could imagine quite a futuristic world that was forced to build the Dyson sphere or even scanned their existence into the machines to fight against the aliens. They even had to turn into cyborgs.

In exchange, they gained massive power and could expand to a few nearby star systems.

"What is the structure of the empire? Like political structure? Government structure or something like that." Nathan asked.

"There is one Central Unit and an Emperor. The Emperor is the only person to have access to the Central Unit. At the same time, the Central Unit has access to the Emperor. The two keep each other in check and maintain stability.

"Under them are the great noble houses, which are divided into four ranks: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Omega. Alpha is the highest noble below the Emperor. They’re tasked with important missions that are relevant to the empire. Each Alpha commands three Betas.

"They have the same roles as Alpha, but their rank is lower and the things they do can be pretty limited. Each Betta has five Gammas. Gammas are nobles who work in the government and ensure the stability of the empire.

"Omega is an independent system. They are the empire’s knights, who will defeat anyone that the empire deems an enemy. General Kgakga is one of them.

"Underneath nobles are normal citizens who are ranked by grades depending on their contributions and other things. They may rise into Omega after contributing enough. The Omegas can challenge Gammas for their rank and position, and so on. No one is immune to being replaced."

"Even the Central Processing Unit?" Nathan raised his eyebrows.

"It can be reset by the power of the Emperor."

"I see." Nathan nodded in understanding.

"What do you intend to do after this?"

Nathan thought for a moment before raising three fingers. "Three possibilities, depending on how you’re going to treat us. If you treat us as enemies, we will leave this place right away. We don’t have time to make additional enemies, but we aren’t afraid of a new enemy as well.

"If you intend to treat us as your guests, we will accept, but the moment you betray us and try to trick us again, we will use everything at our disposal to retaliate, even if it means reducing the empire to nothing."

"How dare you—" General Kgakga wanted to protest, but Nathan turned to him. "Ah, I forgot about you."

Nathan used his energy to shut his mouth before continuing, "If you intend to consider us as passersby, we will probably visit the empire and enjoy it for a bit before leaving. Like a tourist, if you know what I mean."

Zeta nodded in understanding. "In that case, we would like to welcome you as a guest. We will send someone from an Alpha house to guide you around so that you will receive the courtesy of the empire. Please treat it as compensation for our actions."

Nathan thought for a moment and glanced at General Kgakga. Normally, he would demand a punishment for General Kgakga, but that action might cause the situation to become messier. Besides, after surpassing the mortal limit, his desire to take action out of pettiness had decreased significantly.

"Well, I guess it’s fine to visit the empire." Nathan nodded. "We might even have an exchange or a trade. We will see."

"While this spaceship has taken a beating, it may still be functional. May I ask you to release General Kgakga so that he can drive this spaceship back home? General Kgakga’s excessive loyalty has caused the misunderstanding, so he shall be punished after returning to the home planet."

Nathan thought for a moment before nodding. "Very well. Let’s do that. However, I will need to ask you to wait a bit. I’m going to call my friends."

"I understand."

Nathan smiled and turned to Mae. "In that case, let’s go out right away. We need to call Selena and the others."

"Have you found them?" Fenrir asked.

"Flora has found them." Nathan winked playfully. He had asked Flora to leave the world and search for Selena and the others.

Before he left, Zeta politely bowed. "Human god, on behalf of the empire, I’d like to express my thanks for not killing a single soldier."

Nathan halted his steps, nodded, and teleported outside with the others, showing that this battleship couldn’t contain him at all.
