Chapter 1950: Marks

Chapter 1950: Marks

So, she continued, "In that case, let’s continue. What have you been doing? I mean, the resistance. It should be fine to talk about it, right? After all, since you had been controlled, the past action had been studied by the black cell."

"Indeed. The resistance itself was doing something simple. We fought our own kin in different battlefields. Killing them is a kind of salvation. There won’t be any complicated plans because once the officers are controlled, the information will be stolen. What we’re doing is simply prolonging this battle by resisting and not getting caught."

It was a standard strategy that the black cell probably found out after capturing the first few powerful aliens. Besides, it had one of the greatest minds in the universe, Yog-Sothoth. Yog-Sothoth’s power would allow them to figure out when and where the attack would come.

Nyarlathotep must have known about this as well, so it didn’t give any complicated plans. The black cell couldn’t steal any plan if there was no plan at all.

At the same time, Nathan figured out something. When Seath mentioned the fact that he chose what he wanted to protect, Yog-Sothoth must be doing the same thing.

Yog-Sothoth was using the last bit of its consciousness to stop the black cell from using any abilities that could destroy the key to defeating it. At the same time, Yog-Sothoth didn’t know Nyarlathotep’s plan.

The same applied to Azathoth. Then again, Azathoth was a different kind of existence. The black cell probably only used Azathoth as a living fortress, nothing else.

After thinking for a while, Nathan asked Catalith. "May I?"

"Sure." Catalith realized that Nathan actually knew more about the aliens than her. She didn’t know how, but it was clear that Nathan should ask the questions. At least, she would gain a lot more important information this way.

Nathan continued with his questions. "First of all, your world. Where is it? The main world where Azathoth and Yog-Sothoth are located."

"Unfortunately, I can’t say that. I mean, we’ve many main worlds, not just one. The two Great Ones shouldn’t be in the same location, not to mention that their current size is unknown as they can’t be measured with size."

Nathan thought for a moment. "For the time being, I want to know about your original world. Nothing else. Even if I know where those two are, the black cell will probably control them and leave that place, or it might stay there and kill me. Either way, it won’t change anything."

Seath nodded. "If that’s the same sigil that the Trickster gave the Ancient One, then you can actually use that sigil to pinpoint his location. It already knows about this information and desperately seeks it. Now that I know it’s in your hand, more and more of us will come to get you."

"I’m not afraid of war."

"Of course. Just be wary that two Great Ones will come for you. For the time being, I’m assuming that the two Great Ones are doing their best to focus on resisting the urge to kill you. You still have some time, but stronger aliens will definitely come to you."

Nathan nodded in understanding. "Got it. How do I use it?"

"Please channel your power into it. Then, mark this universe with that sigil. However, do that when I’m not around to avoid anyone knowing the Trickster’s location."

"..." Nathan contemplated before nodding his head. "Understood. Now that I think about it, isn’t the mark supposed to be contagious? If we stay too long with you, that mark will influence us as well."

He definitely heard such a thing from Elysion.

"Not exactly contagious." Seath contemplated. "If I have to say, it can be spread, but that’s only for special marks. Those who don’t receive that special mark don’t have the authority to spread it around consciously or subconsciously. I receive no special marks, so I don’t have such a risk."

Nathan frowned. This begged the question. Did Elysion possess a special mark? Or was it just a normal mark?

"How do you identify whether the mark is normal or special?" Nathan asked.

"The mark is branding your existence. In other words, all you need to do is cease to exist. I’m not talking about dying. Blend your power with the surroundings to the point that you feel yourself erasing your existence in this universe. If you end up failing to do so, that means you have a normal mark.

"This normal mark doesn’t allow you to spread it around. However, if you manage to spread it around by doing so, it means you have a special mark."

"..." Nathan fell silent. "If the one possessing the special mark does it, will those infected receive the same mark?"

"It will be normal marks."

"!!!" Nathan widened his eyes. When he thought about it, the original Nathan was supposed to be the one getting branded by this mark. It should be because of Yog-Sothoth.

How about Elysion and his previous life’s disciple, Bianca? Bianca might actually have the special mark, considering she also fought with him against Yog-Sothoth.

According to the journal, Bianca brought a great change, but it wasn’t enough. That was proof that her existence also threatened Yog-Sothoth.

Hence, both of them should have special marks. How about Elysion? Elysion might be strong, but there was no record other than the fact that Elysion was the person who helped him as a teacher. His role focused on the early part of the original Nathan’s life.

In other words, Elysion could actually be with him for as long as possible if he wanted, and the mark would stay the same.

However, it might not be wise to bring him this time because he was still responsible for Bianca. It would be good to just let them protect their world because he knew that the black cell would intensify the attack on their planet to make him worry.

Nathan looked down, contemplating. "In that case... How do you erase that mark?"

"You can’t. Even the Trickster could only hide from it by using its power."

Nathan realized something. It seemed the original Nathan was the first person to figure out a loophole of that mark. By turning itself into data stored inside a planet, he could create his new existence out of nothing. It might not be a true person, but the person in question was the one who judged whether he was real or not.

It was no wonder the aliens were extremely wary of the original Nathan.
