Chapter 1987: Memory of the Dead
Chapter 1987: Memory of the Dead
As soon as they came out of the realm, the situation became tense as they sensed a presence all around them.
All of them immediately raised their stances, getting ready to fight.
Nathan looked around. There were indeed a lot of people. All of them had possessed divinity. In fact, several of them seemed to have reached the true god.
If they clashed with them, the situation would be very serious.
At the same time, it didn’t look like they would be able to get away from this place.
"..." Nathan knew that this was the explosion of his bad luck. This time, they were surrounded by over thirty people with divinity and five people who had reached true god levels.
The number was extremely high, considering Nathan only had twelve of them. Even with the familiars, it would be quite hard because of the five true gods.
They might have true gods on their side as well, but those familiars had yet to unlock all their power.
So, this would be a clash where they didn’t know who would win.
Seeing Nathan and the group appear out of nowhere, they immediately knew that they had just come out from the secret realm. They had clearly come out because they had explored the entire area.
"Hahaha. This is interesting." Loki grinned. "I’m pretty sure that my punishment is over now."
He turned back to his human form, feeling excited.
One of them stepped forward. "So, you are the one who wiped out the Krxx and stole their secrets. Well, that doesn’t matter anymore. Hand over everything you’ve found in that realm, and we’ll let you go."
All these people didn’t seem human. Some were taller, some were bigger, some were the exact opposite. They looked like a human on the one hand from their skin to their appearance, but they had tusks on their mouth.
Several of them seemed to come from different races. Nathan reached a conclusion that these people were either from the same place with multiple races or simply recruited along the way.
Either way, it didn’t look like conflicts could be avoided. The divine artifacts were quite important for them as well.
While they might not have anything they could use, the divine artifacts would be the foundation of what they were going to do next. It was also important for Luna and Iris to study.
Besides, the material of the divine artifacts could still be reused for later.
More importantly, these warriors came from his world. He didn’t really feel good about letting these people take them away.
Nathan said, "Leave everything behind? Do you even have that right?"
"You only get one chance. If you don’t want to die, then you should give up."
Sera whispered, "This is going to be hard, even for us. There are five true gods. Even with our true god level familiars, we won’t know who will win."
"Yes. After seeing Catalith’s power, I know that at least three familiars of that level are required to fight them. So, we really need to find a way to defeat them." Flora agreed, observing everything.
Selena muttered, "I will take one of them on. Nathan is probably going to take them all, but I don’t know if he can handle them by himself. At most, three. So, someone needs to take care of the other two. One is for me, then the other..."
"I will handle it." Evelyn decided to go for it.
"My power is much more useful to fight a large number of enemies, so..." Flora nodded in agreement. "I will stay behind and kill as many of them as possible."
"Still, it will be quite hard for all of you. After all, this is the first time we’re getting surrounded by so many gods. This organization is much more massive than I originally thought. Is this their entire force?" Selena looked around.
Suddenly, Loki spoke. "All of you are overthinking..."
"!!!" Selena and the others looked at Loki.
"We might be in a pinch, but we’re not exactly cornered."
"What? You’re suggesting giving up everything we’ve got?" Sera frowned.
Loki chuckled. "This is why he’s still one step above all of you. From the very beginning, he hasn’t done anything that he should have done after visiting the battlefield. He should have done that with all of you whenever he visited a place that is important to know about the past."
"Huh?" Some were confused, but some realized what had been missing.
Nathan hadn’t done one thing.
Nathan looked at them and said, "If you are really going to steal everything from us, then I guess we will just have to wipe you out."
"You are too arrogant. You have stolen everything from us. You will be condemned for that massacre!"
"Massacre? Do you mean people abusing their power to get the women they want?" Nathan sneered.
"Heh? I guess we won’t kill you first but instead target those women first to let you suffer before you die! I wonder what we will do once we get them in our hands."
"You’ve just said one thing that you shouldn’t have." Nathan’s expression turned extremely cold.
"I shouldn’t have? You are the one making things worse." Their leader laughed and raised his hand, ready to give an order.
Nathan took out what had been missing the whole time. Whenever he visited a place to learn about history, he always did one thing. It was to peek into the memories of the past.
That was why this time was the same. He simply hadn’t done that yet, not because he already knew the truth or Loki would tell him everything.
Instead, he had been waiting for this moment. The only way to turn the situation around.
"Memory of the Dead." Nathan activated the crystal that Hela gave him.
All of a sudden, the Army of Heaven appeared in this place. There were other armies from different mythologies as well.
"I call upon the dead to fight for me!" Nathan shouted, letting everyone hear it.
And it shocked them.
