Chapter 1120: No, I'm not Ryan
Chapter 1120: No, I’m not Ryan
“Platinum rank…”
There was a distinct fluctuation coming from Adrian, characteristic of Platinum-ranked creatures.
Idan turned to Saelin, Adrian’s Patroness.
She met his gaze without fear and shrugged her shoulders.
It never occurred to her that this Contractor of hers would be connected not only with Ryan, but also with Idan himself.
Adrian walked confidently and straight, showing neither fear nor excitement. It didn’t seem to bother him at all that there were three Diamond-ranked beings standing in front of him.
It was only when he saw a familiar face among them that his equanimity cracked.
His eyebrows dropped down, and his gaze became gloomy.
Idan came out to meet him.
Looking at that face, Idan felt his fists itch.
He knew that behind this mask of calmness and confidence, there was a real coward.
Adrian, seeing Idan in the form of Ryan, stopped, not understanding what was happening and why he was called here.
Finally, Idan stopped and looked into the man’s eyes, standing face to face with him, just as he wanted.
Having fulfilled one of his desires, Idan could no longer delay.
“You know…” he began, and with a flick of his right hand, he opened the access portal behind Adrian. “It was pretty shitty cleaning up the shit you left behind, Damian… No… Adrian.”
As soon as Idan uttered the name “Adrian”, the man standing in front of his eyes distorted his face. But then the blow came. Not too strong, but powerful enough to knock the man off his feet and send him flying straight into the portal, where he disappeared.
Feeling relieved and recoiled from the blow, Idan stepped into the portal, following him.
This strike was not the end. That was just the beginning.
He couldn’t complete it with one punch.
Adrian had been lying for so long, and Idan knew that one blow wouldn’t be enough to destroy it.
***
After leaving the building, Ryan wandered aimlessly around the Kingdom for a while. He surveyed the surroundings, trying to distract himself from his thoughts and calm down.
Previously, in the heat of anger, he hadn’t noticed where he was. But now that his mind was clearer, he was surprised to realize how many interesting things there were in this place.
During this time, Ryan had no contact with anyone. His sullen gaze repelled everyone he met, including the animals that instinctively avoided his company.
Ryan didn’t know that he was being closely watched by the eyes of the Kingdom’s Guardian of Darkness. Soon, the eyes following him noticed how a portal opened in a quiet corner of the Kingdom, and a man was thrown out of it.
He fell to the ground with a crash and rolled on it several times.
Less than five seconds later, Idan appeared from the portal, still in the guise of Ryan.
Despite the disguise, Sierra, who was watching what was happening, immediately recognized Idan in him.
Knowing that he was being watched, Idan looked up and said:
“Sierra, bring them in and hide them. Let them witness what happens next.”
At that time, Ryan, wandering, saw a girl with long red hair and azure eyes. For a moment, he stood transfixed by her beauty.
For the first time in a long time, he had a strong desire to approach and talk to the girl first.
But before he could take a step towards this girl, he was teleported away by Sierra.
Ryan didn’t have time to come to his senses, as his mother, brothers, and everyone else who had been at the recent conversation turned out to be next to him.
Like himself, they were puzzled until they noticed two figures a little further away. One of them was on his knees, holding his face, and the other was standing a little way away with his hands in his pockets.
However, what caught everyone’s attention was the guy’s face.
Everyone immediately turned to Ryan, and then back to the guy in the distance.
“This is Idan,” Irene said. “He’s wearing Ryan’s disguise.”
Hearing this, Ryan remembered the moment when Idan had put on a strange mask for him for a moment.
“So that’s when he copied my appearance,” he guessed.
“If it’s Idan, then the other one…” — before Ivette could say it, Eleanor interrupted her.:
“Adrian. It’s him.”
Now all eyes turned to the man who was on his knees, holding his face.
Idan’s punch tore Adrian’s upper lip and knocked out a couple of teeth.
Shaking his head, Adrian stood up and spat out blood. His gaze turned cold, and there was confusion and hidden fear in it. He didn’t understand how Ryan found out his most important secret.
“Ryan…” he said.
“Ryan?” asked Idan, cocking his head in disbelief. He then pulled his right hand out of his pocket and defiantly took off his mask, revealing his identity in front of Adrian.
“No, I’m not Ryan,” Idan said, putting the {Ghost Mask} back into his spatial ring.
“You…” Adrian’s cold gaze shattered into a thousand pieces. His eyes widened in surprise, and his body shuddered slightly.
“Those facial features…” Adrian couldn’t forget them.
“Idan… It’s you.”
He couldn’t help but recognize those features. For too many years, he had only seen them from afar, hiding behind strange names, strange faces, and his own fear. Once upon a time, Adrian himself decided that it would be better to hide his son from the eyes and influence of the Blake family.
He told Inessa that the baby was stillborn.
He said that to the woman he loved.
And since then, every day he convinced himself that he had lied not for himself, but for his son.
But now his son stood before him alive, an adult, with cold eyes, and all these years of lies crumbled to dust.
Adrian spat out blood, but the bitterness in his mouth wasn’t just from his split lip.
“So you recognized me? Whose fake death did you weave into your web of lies?” asked Idan.
“I did it to protect you,” he said hoarsely in his defense.
This personal confession from Adrian came as a real shock to those who were secretly watching what was happening. If they had any hidden doubts, they were now completely dispelled.
It was really Adrian standing in front of them, not Damian.
