Chapter 1195: Two tasks

Chapter 1195: Two tasks

“Have I considered capturing other Rank 6 creatures from the inferior world of Darkness and Light as my contracts? Of course I have,” Sierra replied to Idan’s question.

“For me, they are one of the best possible options.”

Sierra already had enough information about the five creatures of darkness, equal in power and influence to the former queen of the Womskinner race.

Each of which has its own territory.

——————–

The Territory of Dark Beasts = {Dragon Queen} – Dark Dragoness – Rank 6.

The Territory of Dark Sky = {Black-Winged Archon} – Heavenly Raven Demon – Rank 6.

The Territory of Dungeons = {Heart of the Labyrinth} – An Ancient Underground Titan – Rank 6.

The Territory of Dark Waters = {Queen of the Black Abyss} – Dark Leviathan – Rank 6.

The Territory of Dead = {Silent King of the Mounds} – Ancient Lich – Rank 6.

——————–

Any one of these five creatures could become her contract partner. Sierra didn’t single out anyone in particular or anyone special.

She already had three Beast Souls combined into her First Trinity, and a free Fourth Beast Soul so far. In a good way, she could make a contract with three of these five creatures.

“As soon as you’re done helping me get the True Fires, I suggest we send the Prina home. Let her put things in order there and at the same time attract the attention of these creatures,” Idan suggested.

Sierra, lost in thought, was slow to respond. Only after a short pause did she say:

“I’ll think about it and make a decision closer to that time.”

Idan nodded silently, ready to support any decision she made.

After finishing the conversation with Sierra and getting what he wanted, Idan left the prison, satisfied with the result he had achieved.

Thanks to Sierra’s support in obtaining the True Fires, he could only wait, fully focusing on his training and taking care of his wife.

“Maybe it’s worth visiting Belle,” Idan mused as he left the prison. He looked at his watch and realized that it was still a long way to the appointed hour of meeting with the bartender. “Or should I go back to training?”

While he was wondering what to do, a group led by Lucinda appeared in front of him.

“Idan,” she greeted.

“Oh, Lucinda, Sister, Arslan, Ned… and Hailey?” Idan was pleasantly surprised that she was here too.

But he was even more surprised when he noticed a man among them whom he had not expected to see at all – Leo.

Leo, tired and sweaty, could hardly stand on his feet and fell asleep standing up.

“Leo?” he called, and Leo, as if waking up, looked around. When Leo saw Idan, he almost cried and wanted to say something, but at that moment a hand was placed on his shoulder. Startled, he turned around and saw the monster smiling brightly at him.

“What’s going on?” asked Idan of the others.

They just shrugged, as if to say, “Don’t ask us.”

“Brother,” Irene came forward and voiced the reason why they appeared before him. “We want to get into Limbo.”

“Do you want to go to Limbo?” Idan asked, looking around at everyone present. “All of you?”

Everyone nodded in agreement.

“Even Leo?” Idan pointed at Leo.

“Of course,” Hailey confirmed with a smile.

“No!” — Leo exclaimed in unison with her, unable to contain his despair. He tried to step away from Hailey, but his legs gave way and he fell to the ground.

He crawled up to Idan and grabbed his leg with a death grip.

“King, save me! I don’t want to go anywhere!”

“Tsch!” — Hailey clicked her tongue in frustration and, coming closer, began to pull Leo away.

“No way! Let me go! I’m not going!” he shouted in despair.

Everyone silently watched the unfolding scene, unwilling to interfere.

“Look at you, you’re still full of energy,” Hailey said with a smile, gently but persistently pulling Leo’s leg.

Idan, in turn, focused on the system notification that appeared, not paying attention to what was happening in front of him.

[Ding! A task has been received from the Dragon System.]

[Task: “Convince Host “Hailey” that her chosen candidate for Dragon Riders, Host “Leo”, is not a good fit.”]

[The reward for completing the task is the role of a candidate Dragonrider.]

[Ding! A task was received from the System ###.]

[Task: “Handsome, get the Host “Leo” to train and help him become a Dragon Rider (>ᴗ•).”]

[The reward for completing the task is hugs from this System ⊂(▽`)⊃]

Idan stared at the two conflicting notifications for a few seconds in silence.

«…»

Then he slowly shifted his gaze to Leo, who was still clinging to his leg, and to Hailey, who continued to try to pull him away.

“Why are Systems of these two giving tasks to me?”

[Host, because their systems have oath allegiance to this system. As their Master, you have a certain amount of influence and voice.]

“What does ‘Dragon Rider’ mean?”

[A Dragon Rider is a dragon’s chosen partner, with whom they share a special bond.]

[A rider has the right to accompany a dragon, fight with it, and share some of its power.]

Idan looked up from the System notification and looked at Hailey.

“She’s a dragon, and Leo is her chosen Dragon Rider?”

“How did that happen?” His right eye started twitching.

No matter how you look at it, Leo is not at all suitable for the role of a Dragon Rider.

Most importantly, according to his observations, Hailey was completely in agreement with this, and she even seemed to be having fun.

However, the candidate she chose was categorically against it.

“Even their Systems have chosen opposite sides.” Idan covered his face with his hands, realizing the absurdity of the situation.

After thinking for a while and noticing that the others were getting annoyed, Idan turned his gaze to Hailey.

“Okay, Hailey, stop pulling on him.”

Hailey frowned.

“Leave him alone,” — Idan begged.

[(o_O)!]

A System window appeared above Leo, which only he could see.

Leo began to cry with joy.

“It’s too early for him to go into Limbo,” Idan continued, noticing how Hailey’s face was slowly contorting.

“You can go with the others if you need to go to Limbo, and I’ll personally look after him and even take him with me to practice.”

“Oh!” a smile shone on Hailey’s face. “If that’s the case, then I agree.”

“Huh?” a look of bewilderment appeared on Leo’s face. He couldn’t figure out if the King had saved him or only made the situation worse.
