Chapter 1196: I don’t need to
15,000 System Points — that’s how much Idan spent to bring the band to Limbo. Two—thirds of the amount he had paid for just the two of them, Lucinda and Lina, two Diamond-ranked Valkyries.
Once they were inside the Temple, everyone except Lucinda returned back to the Kingdom. And Lucinda, spreading her four wings of light, flew away towards the Ice Caves.
There was no point in everyone flying there, because Lucinda, being the Guardian of Light, could easily open an Access Portal as soon as she got to the Ice Caves.
“63,939 System points.” Idan sighed, looking at the total balance of his and Arabel’s System Points.
He turned his gaze to his sister and the others, who had previously offered to contribute their share of the transfer fee, but Idan refused their help. He knew that unlike them, he and Arabel had much higher System Points.
Moreover, Idan still had some Fire Elemental Crystals that he hadn’t sold yet. According to preliminary calculations, if he sold them all, he could get over 200,000 System Points.
It was quite an impressive amount.
While he was looking at the rest of the System Points, Irene came up to him.
“Don’t you want to ask why we’re in Limbo?”
Idan looked up from the System window and looked at his sister.
“I don’t need to,” he smiled. “Because I already know.”
Irene raised her eyebrows in surprise.
She had been by his side all this time and did not remember anyone telling him about their plan.
“Ah!” exclaimed Irene, turning to a certain person, and the others followed her.
“I have no secrets from my big brother,” Ned shrugged, admitting that he had already told Idan about their intention through their contract.
Watching Ned gradually become a part of their company, Idan nodded at him with a smile. The others no longer perceived him as an ordinary doppelganger, but as a separate person.
Milena wrinkled her nose slightly in displeasure, to which Ned just smiled.
If Ned had any secret from him, it was about his relationship with Milena.
Idan didn’t know how far their relationship had progressed. But from what he was watching now, their relationship was gradually developing.
In this regard, Ned had more freedom and personal space.
Now that Irene and her team were in Limbo and had moved from the dungeon to the Forbidden Zone, Idan couldn’t help but ask:
“You still couldn’t find the right tactics to defeat the boss in the Dungeon Simulator?”
There was silence in response.
“A Dungeon Simulator?” Only Hailey, who missed the appearance of {Systems Dungeon} and even {Local Systems Network}, was not aware.
Irene broke the silence.:
“No,” she said, disappointment in her voice.
According to Irene, after the successful first pass, they were still unable to meet with the other teams and get back together in a single raid. But trying to get through with other random teams turned out to be much more difficult, and they didn’t even manage to overcome the stage with five Gates and Seals.
“Esma’s team is still not giving up and is trying to get through at least once, while at the same time finding the right tactics,” Milena added.
If Idan wasn’t mistaken, Esma’s team also included her two Valkyrie sisters, Yulaya and Hazel. As for the other three, one of them was Eulalia, and since she was there, Liam was also on their team. Surprisingly, the last sixth participant turned out to be Yulaya and Hazel’s friend Crowey.
“By the way, the Soul Queen and the guys from Lord of the Dead’s group asked about you two,” Arslan reminded.
“Oh! And what did you tell them?” — Idan was very interested.
“Well, we saw no reason to lie or hide anything. Besides, the guys seemed normal to us, so we told the truth: you are both preparing to become parents and have temporarily retired,” Irene admitted.
When Idan found out that Irene and the others had added him as a friend and had already met with him in the Nexus, he was sure that he would soon have the opportunity to chat with them.
According to Arslan, they even wanted to visit the Kingdom through the Nexus teleportation buildings, but ran into a problem: the Dungeon’s private Gate was not visible to outsiders.
Hailey tried to understand the conversation, but due to her long stay in a coma, she missed a lot and did not quite understand what was being discussed.
She looked at Leo and asked:
“What kind of Dungeon Simulator is this?”
Leo shuddered.
He was afraid and avoided Hayley before, but now his fear has only intensified.
“Leo?” she called, noticing his silence.
Leo swallowed. His arms and legs were still shaking, but this time Hailey wasn’t laughing. She didn’t look like she was going to grab him by the scruff of the neck and drag him somewhere.
She just stared at him.
With curiosity.
With the same hungry interest that Leo loved to see on the faces of others when he had the opportunity to express himself, tell something new, share information and help them.
She wanted to understand.
And for some reason, that’s exactly what touched something inside him at that moment.
Leo blinked and suddenly noticed for the first time not only the horns and dragon eyes, but also that Hailey… was quite a beautiful girl. It’s just like his taste.
His face slowly turned red.
“That’s…” Leo muttered, looking down.
“This is a Simulation of a Dungeon that is located inside the Dungeon Gate that appeared at the end of the Third Disaster…”
“The Dungeon Gate?” — Hailey’s eyes flashed with curiosity, and she crouched down right next to Leo to hear him better.
Her face was right in front of him, and that made Leo even more nervous.
He nodded and, gathering his courage, began his story about the Dungeon Gates.
Hailey listened to him attentively, asking questions she didn’t understand.
At first, Leo answered briefly and cautiously, but the more he talked, the more her expression changed.
Surprise. Interest. Understanding.
And then there are new questions.
And with each new question Hailey asked, Leo gradually began to lose his fear.
He straightened up, his speech became more confident, and, without noticing it, he began to explain everything in more detail: about the Dungeon Simulator, about the personal Gate, about the Nexus, the Local Systems Network, and even about what Hailey hadn’t asked.
Hailey listened carefully. Too carefully.
And Leo, seeing her interest, shone brighter and brighter.
Idan and the others stopped talking and watched the scene in silence.
Until recently, these two resembled a cat and a mouse. More precisely, a dragon and a mouse.
But now they were talking calmly, as if there was nothing strange about it.
The same expression appeared on the faces of Idan, Irene, and the others.
They were completely and utterly baffled.
