Chapter 1211: And who is my opponent?

Chapter 1211: And who is my opponent?

“Oh!”

Hailey, separated from the group and transported to an unknown location, looked around.

She found herself in a spacious open cave, with a large arena-like area spread out in front of her.

This was the place where Ned had recently fought Frostborn and won the first victory for the team.

Next to it was a small ice wall, on which was written:

——————–

“Defeat the champion of the Ice Caves”

“Victory — 1 point for the team”

“Loss — 1 point for Ice Caves”

“Total of 5 duels”

“You’re the second”

“The side that gets 3 points first wins”

——————–

“Defeat the champion of the Ice Caves?”

With each new line that Hailey read on the icy wall, her smile grew wider and wider. To be honest, she didn’t expect this opportunity at all.

If she had known, she would have been the first to agree to stay and fight the champion.

“Hmm…I’m the second one, so Ned, who was left before me, has already taken part in the battle?”

Hailey tilted her head.

“I wonder if he won or lost?”

She began to wonder.

At that moment, she heard a rumble and only then discovered that the audience was sitting around her, perched on rocks, ledges and columns.

“Oh!”

Her eyes lit up with delight.

She was not surprised by the appearance of the audience; she was delighted with their very presence.

This only ignited her fiery blood, and she was looking forward to the start of the duel.

“And who is my opponent?”

She said impatiently, and at that very moment, something massive crashed down from the dark ceiling of the cave on the opposite side of the arena with a deafening roar.

“Graaaaa!”

A dragon roared.

Hailey froze, her eyes wide.

And then her body began to tremble with excitement.

“I… Ice Dragon!”

She couldn’t help but exclaim with delight.

A majestic snow-white dragon appeared in front of Hailey.

Dragon scales shimmered in all shades of white, silver, and deep blue, as if each plate was a piece of the frosty sky.

A cold mist flowed between the scales, and each exhalation of the dragon turned the air into a scattering of sparkling crystals. Two long horns resembling curved ice peaks extended back from his head.

A ridge of ice spikes ran along his back, and a pale blue light pulsed slowly inside them.

The huge wings were covered with delicate patterns resembling cracks in frozen water, and with every movement, snow dust fell from them.

The dragon’s eyes shone with a cold azure light. There was no wild madness of an ordinary beast in them—only the ancient arrogance and the calm, almost indifferent might of a creature accustomed to looking down on all living things.

When the dragon descended into the arena, the ground beneath it was instantly covered with frost.

In Hailey’s eyes, the dragon that appeared in front of her was not an enemy.

No, it was the perfect protector and the first candidate to inhabit her Dragon Lair.

Thanks to the graceful body of the dragon and other signs that her eyes caught, Hailey quickly came to a conclusion.

“The female dragon… Great, that’s exactly what I need!”

The Platinum-ranked ice Dragoness stared at her opponent intently, and her eyes narrowed.

At the sight of this Dragoness belonging to the opposite element, her dragon bloodline seemed to respond to a mysterious call. Something unusual and attractive attracted her to this Dragoness.

“Hey,” — Hailey called out. “I am Hailey Bell, the future Lord of all Dragons. Would you like to join me and become the first follower of the future Lord?”

The Ice Dragoness’s eyes narrowed even more.

“Lord of all Dragons?” she snorted and let out a deafening roar, suppressing the sudden urge to obey.

“Heh,” — Hailey grinned. “If that’s the case, then have it your way.”

With that, her body began to enlarge and transform. The icy air around her was rapidly heating up and distorting.

SHHH…

The collision of the elements of ice and fire created a huge cloud of steam. Two fiery eyes emerged from this cloud, followed by a deafening roar.

“Graaaaa!”

The cave trembled, and cracks ran across the surface of the ice.

The Ice Dragoness narrowed her eyes. When her opponent assumed her true form, the call intensified, but she did not give in.

Hailey’s massive body in the form of a lava dragon seemed to be bleeding lava, and red-hot lava was dripping from her massive body.

Her eyes were fixed on her opponent.

Hailey had only one goal: not to miss this chance, which was given to her by the Ice Cave itself, and to subdue this dragon by all means in order to make her a reliable defender for the children of her masters.

Thus began the confrontation between two Platinum-ranked Dragoness of opposing elements.

“Aaaaaaa…”

After the ice bridge collapsed, the group found themselves in the abyss and plummeting into the unknown.

At the last moment, they tried to grab onto the edge of the cliff, but the restrictions of the Ice Cave prevented them from using their powers.

Despite the flight ban, Lucinda and Milena simultaneously opened their wings.

The bright light coming from their wings dispelled the darkness, allowing the group to see and find each other.

“MEOW-OW!” — Kitty mewed for a long time, clutching Nemo’s head tightly.

Fear gripped everyone without exception.

Even Lucinda, a born Valkyrie who wasn’t afraid of heights, was terrified of the unknown.

Suddenly, a cold wind blew in and hit their faces, forcing them to close their eyes. The walls of the abyss were rapidly dissolving into a blue-white mist.

But after a few seconds, Nemo realized that something was wrong.

The rate of falling did not decrease.

And the cold wind was blowing not from above, but from below.

“We’re not falling down…” he said through a mental link.

Only then did everyone remember the inverted gravity.

They thought they were falling into the abyss, into the depths of an ice cave, but in fact they were rapidly flying up to the top of the mountain.

The next moment, a curtain of snow appeared in front of them, which burst, and the group was thrown out of the mountain.

They were high above the icy peak, surrounded by roaring wind and clouds of snow dust. The inverted gravity pushed them out, as if the mountain itself had spat out intruders.
