Chapter 1263: Broken?

Chapter 1263: Broken?

“Esmari?” exclaimed Arabel, her eyes widening. She was feeding her children when a message came from Esma saying that Esmari had appeared and needed help to lure her into Limbo.

Arabel turned to Idan, who was standing next to her.

“Is something wrong?” he asked, noticing her surprise.

“Esma, she’s…” Arabel began, quickly outlining Esma’s plan.

Idan, frowning, massaged his temples.

“First the Sword Hero, and now another Valkyrie of Legendary rank…” he said, clearly unhappy with the current situation. “Couldn’t she have warned you in advance?”

Arabel lowered her head, also upset. She looked at her children, who were greedily sucking milk, and sighed.

“I can’t leave her without help.”

“So help her,” — Idan replied. “If you’re waiting for my permission, then you have it.”

Arabel looked up, smiled, and nodded.

Soon, Idan and Arabel, without leaving the nursery, watched as Esma, Yulaya and Hazel entered the living room. A little later, Esmari appeared.

“She looks just like Esma!” exclaimed Arabel, looking at Esmari.

“Well, Esma is her avatar,” — Idan reminded her.

Without Arabel and Idan’s permission, Esmari would not have been able to enter the building. And it was Arabelle who then banished her from the living room, redirecting the exit to Limbo.

Since Esmari did not resist, and since the System considered both Limbo and Juno to be one world, there was no need to pay System Points.

With the departure of Esma, Yulaya, and Hazel, Arabel’s anxiety only increased. She had no idea what was going on in Limbo.

When the children were fed and tucked in, she turned her gaze to Idan.

“If you’re so worried, ask Sierra to look after them,” he said with a smile. “There’s no problem with the Sword Hero, so her presence there is optional.”

“Okay,” Arabel agreed, and taking out the {Whisper Talisman}, she texted Sierra about Esmarie’s sudden appearance and Esma’s plan. She asked her to go to Limbo and check if everything was okay, and also expressed her concern for Esma.

All she got in response was a short message: “Leave it to me.”

Only then did Arabel feel relieved.

Idan hugged her, and she smiled.

“Let’s go and meet the Sword Hero?” suggested Idan, and Arabel, without hesitation, agreed.

So they left the family home and went out the front door of their house, where Lina stood up and introduced them to her father.

“From this day on, you are the benefactors of my family. If you ever need my sword or the Sword Sect’s help, you just have to ask.”

Idan exchanged glances with Arabel.

“In that case, we really have one request,” he said.

Lovis straightened up.

“Tell me.”

“Can you lend us the Sacred Sword for a while?”

Silence fell on the terrace of the house.

All eyes turned to Idan.

Even Arabel was amazed, not expecting her husband to take and directly ask for the Sacred Sword.

The silence was broken by the humming of the sword on Lovis’ belt. He seemed to be expressing dissatisfaction with Idan’s request.

Lovis put his hand on the hilt, and the sword fell silent.

“You do understand that I promised to help you with my sword, but not give it to you?”

Idan, still smiling, nodded, indicating that he understood his words.

“Then why do you need the Sacred Sword?” asked Lovis.

“I said it was «for a while»,” Idan reminded him calmly. “I don’t need a Sacred Sword as a weapon. I just want to analyze it. This can help us recover Lina’s sword.”

Lovis frowned. However, the very next moment, his expression changed.

“Recover…?” he repeated slowly.

He turned to his daughter, and there was concern in his gaze.

“Lina, is your sword broken?”

Lina lowered her eyes.

“Yes.”

There was no anger or condemnation on Lovis’ face. Only deep regret.

He knew all too well what the blade he had given him represented.

It wasn’t an ordinary weapon.

The sword had to grow with Lina, adapt to her, absorb her power, and gradually gain its own will. When that will be strong enough, Lovis was going to take the blade and reforge it, allowing it to advance to the next step.

That’s why he didn’t give his daughter a more powerful sword from the very beginning. The finished weapon might have been stronger and sharper, but it would never have truly become her sword.

“So it will is also…” Lovis said softly, not finishing his sentence.

His gaze dropped to the hilt of the Sacred Sword. He was no longer humming, as if he too had realized what was being said.

“I should have strengthened it earlier,” Lovis said regretfully. “I thought you both had plenty of time.”

“It’s not your fault, Father,” Lina hastily replied. —”And it will may still be alive.”

Lovis looked up sharply.

“What did you say?”

Lina carefully took out the surviving hilt.

“I was told that the will of the sword has not disappeared.”

“Who told you that?” Lovis asked.

Lina’s gaze fell on Arabel.

“Are you a blacksmith?” Lovis carefully examined Arabel from head to toe, but this young and attractive girl did not give the impression of a blacksmithing expert.

“No,” Arabel shook her head. “But I can help Lina restore her sword.”

“And give it back its Will?” asked Lovis doubtfully.

He had never heard of a blacksmith in Junonia who could bring a broken blade back to life. Even the masters he knew would not be able to give an accurate answer to this question.

“Yes,” Arabel said confidently, believing the System’s words.

“I believe in Arabel too, Father,” Lina added, gripping the hilt of her sword. “I… I want to get it back, not look for a new sword. It is very dear to me. You gave it to me, Father.”

Lovis watched them, and his heart told him that his daughter and these two young men were not telling the truth.

However, who was he to try to unravel other people’s secrets? He had a lot of them himself, and he didn’t want to share them with others.

“Well, if it helps Lina get her sword back, I don’t mind,” Lovis said.

Idan, Arabel, and Lina were delighted, but Lovis added:

“I’m willing to lend you the sword, but will it agree to it?”

He took his hand off the hilt, and the sword hummed.

“To study it, you need to get its own permission.”
