Chapter 1282: Spark and Crystal.

Chapter 1282: Spark and Crystal.

Kingdom. Prison.

Sierra was sitting cross-legged on a large dark sofa in a spacious room, enjoying a freshly brewed coffee. In her other hand, she held a crystal with the latest reports on the situation on the Eastern Continent that Livia had just brought.

Sipping her coffee, she carefully sorted through all the available information, dividing it into useful and less valuable ones.

What she was most interested in was the information about the six true lights. It’s been a while, but she still hasn’t been able to get any of them.

She was in no hurry. First, she needed to gather more information about her goals, and then she would send Prina to pay visits.

There was no need to kidnap everyone.

She would have talked to those with whom it was possible to negotiate, and with those who did not want to make contact, well, they could have been abducted. There were enough empty rooms in her possession.

While taking another sip of coffee, she suddenly stopped and frowned.

Setting the cup on the table in front of her, she put the crystal away and got to her feet.

Her gaze was fixed in a certain direction, as if she was looking into the void. However, she actually used the {Heavenly Eye} to find the anomaly she sensed.

Far from the center, Sierra quickly discovered “it.” Her figure disappeared, and in the next second, she was already soaring above the mountain with six dark wings spread out on her back.

Her dark eyes focused on the top of the mountain, where two elements with rudiments of law were raging — the law of lightning and the law of ice.

In the vortex of these two elements, she saw two familiar figures, and she was overcome with anxiety.

In the heart of the anomaly, Idan and Arabel sat side by side with their heads down and their eyes closed, holding hands tightly.

Arabel’s body, which was under the influence of the element of ice, was covered with ice and numerous cracks. At the same time, Idan’s body, on the contrary, sparkled from lightning strikes and twitched. In places where lightning struck, the flesh was torn and repaired.

“What the hell is going on here?” she exclaimed.

When she was about to move towards them to pull them out, an invisible force stopped her.

Sierra immediately looked up, and her eyes trembled in disbelief.

As a Guardian, she had always been closely associated with the Kingdom, and now the Kingdom itself forbade her to approach them.

“What? Protect them and not let anyone in?” Sierra asked in shock, when, along with the prohibition to interfere, she felt a clear intention addressed to her as the Guardian of Darkness.

She turned her gaze back to the couple and remembered their words.

“Is this really what they were talking about? The Ascension Trial?” she asked, but no one could give her an answer or confirm her guesses.

***

It didn’t know who or what it was. Not to mention who “he” was.

It did not know about the concept of time and how long it had been wandering among like it.

It was constantly moving. Movement was it existence.

It did not understand where it was, and did not remember if it had ever existed before.

It didn’t have the eyes to see the endless thunderstorm of sparkling lightning. There were no ears to hear the thunder of thousands of lightning. There wasn’t even a thought that it could use to describe what was happening.

Time passed, and it didn’t even realize when something strange had awakened in it.

Something that required it to “Find the others,” and over time it became its “desire.”

A small bolt exploded. It didn’t know where it was going, but it sensed something familiar ahead. The same as “he” is incomplete. The same as “he” lost.

Another bolt of lightning flashed in the distance.

It noticed “him” and tried to hide among the countless discharges, but “he” followed it. Desire made “him” faster than it. The distance between them slowly shrank until finally the two lightning bolts collided.

At the moment of their connection, a bright flash lit up the space.

The two became one.

Something new arose inside the nameless fragment — a thought.

“I have to collect them.”

It still didn’t know who “they” were. It didn’t understand why it had to do this. But now it vague desire had taken shape.

Somewhere in the raging thunderstorm there were thousands of fragments just like “him”.

And each of them belonged to “him.”

***

There was no time here. There was no light, no darkness, no heat, no cold. Even the mountain itself didn’t realize that it was a mountain.

Arabel’s consciousness split into many ice fragments and disappeared among the snow-capped peaks. It resided inside ancient glaciers, slept in the permafrost and hid in countless ice crystals.

She couldn’t remember her name. I didn’t know that I had ever possessed a body. She didn’t remember the man she loved or the children she held in her arms.

There was no Arabelle left.

There was only a silent chill.

And suddenly, in this absolute silence, something alien appeared.

Weak. Far away. Almost indistinguishable.

Weeping.

It penetrated into space through an invisible connection that neither cold nor deep sleep could touch. The Kingdom of Ice trembled, responding to a kindred force. The Law of Ice picked up this barely audible call and carried it through the frozen peaks.

Somewhere inside the mountain, a tiny crystal cracked.

It didn’t recognize that voice. It didn’t understand who it belonged to or why it had disturbed eternal peace.

But for the first time, amidst the endless cold, a feeling appeared.

Anxiety.

Someone was calling “it”.

No, not “it”. It had no name, no body, and no past.

And yet this cry was meant for “it”.

A barely noticeable tremor passed over the snow-capped peaks. One of the countless pieces of “it” consciousness awakened and reached out towards the distant voice.

The crying started again.

With it came a new feeling — the desire to protect.

It still didn’t know who it was supposed to protect. It did not understand why this weak voice was more important than eternal peace. But the cold, which had seemed absolute before, could no longer hold it in.

There’s “it” waiting.

This thought was the first crack in “it” dream.

The awakening spread from one crystal to another. Cracks ran across the glacier, connecting the disparate parts of “her” consciousness. Each awakened particle amplified the distant call.

Something familiar gradually appeared in the crying.

A fiery character hidden in cold power.

Native blood.

Its continuation.

And then, among the chaotic feelings, a name appeared for the first time.

Isenna.

The mountain shook.

At the same moment, it remembered who it was to the girl.

A mother.
