Chapter 742: Come what may

Chapter 742: Come what may

“Freeze!” — Arabel exclaimed, staring intently at the little girl in front of her. She literally started drooling. “Don’t you dare do anything!”

The smile on the girl’s face began to fade, and when she noticed her drool, she hurriedly wiped it away.

Arabel’s loud and sudden voice attracted the attention of others. Seeing this, she used her Soul Force to create a space around her and Darkia’s table so that others couldn’t hear their conversation.

“Why?” — Darkia tilted her head questioningly.

“Tell me, you didn’t take any action, did you?” Arabel asked before answering.

In response to her question, Darkia’s lips stretched into a wide smile.

“Hold your men, Darkia,” Arabel urged urgently.

“Why?” Darkia repeated the question.

“Before acting, it is necessary to collect all the necessary information,” Arabel undertook to explain. “There were only mortals in that restaurant, and it’s clear even to an inexperienced person that they couldn’t get such ingredients on their own. This means that there is some kind of force behind the restaurant.”

“Either they are awakened ones, or they are creatures from other worlds.”

“So what?” — Darkia tilted her head in the other direction.

“First need to find out what kind of force it is,” Arabel replied.

“Need to understand whether this is a white business or a black one.”

“If this is an honest business, we shouldn’t act like thieves and bandits, just come and take what we need,” Arabel tried to explain to Darkia, and specifically to the Dark System, that she couldn’t come and take what she wanted without first asking whose it was.

“If this is a black business, then actions can already be taken here, but even in this case it is important to act carefully so as not to harm innocent and peaceful citizens.”

“And if it’s a legitimate and honest business, then we can try to negotiate and get them on our side.”

Darkia remained motionless as she listened to Arabel, and it was hard to tell what she was thinking.

“Don’t you dare interfere in my business, Darkia,” Arabel said firmly.

And, to her surprise, these words had an effect.

“Okay,” Darkia nodded.

Arabel stared at Darkia, trying to figure out if she really took note of her words or not.

“How difficult it is to communicate with her”, — Arabel thought, rubbing her temples.

At that moment, they were distracted by the delivery of the order. They both looked at their dishes and, satisfied with the serving, started tasting.

Once again, after tasting only one bite, they raised their eyes and looked at each other.

“It’s just a coincidence, isn’t it?” Arabel asked, but no one answered. A wide smile appeared on Darkia’s face, and she released the Soul Force of the Host she was controlling to envelop the entire restaurant.

Arabel didn’t stop her and continued to taste the dishes. With each bite, she became convinced that it was almost the same as in the previous restaurant.

“And all the chefs here are mortals,” Darkia said, quickly withdrawing her Soul Force.

“And now what?” — She looked at Arabel.

“Nothing,” — Arabel replied, putting the dishes on the table after she finished with the tasting. Then she took out the money for the order and put it on the table as well.

“I’m not very good at collecting information and I don’t want to waste my time on it. It’s better to leave it to someone who can do it better,” Arabel said, getting up from her seat.

“Oh, indeed,” Darkia nodded, agreeing with Arabel. At the same time, she gave the task to the “Eye of the Web”, the host of the system, which she recently took control of, to collect all available information about these two restaurants.

“Heh,” — Darkia chuckled when she noticed Arabel staring at her.

Looking at that grin, Arabel doubted that Darkia would eventually listen to her words and not interfere in what was happening.

“Come what may,” she said to herself and, shaking her head, left the restaurant. Even though she still had things to do, she found a secluded spot, opened an Access Portal, and returned to the Kingdom to avoid further persecution by Darkia.

After entering the Kingdom and leaving Darkia behind, Arabel checked to see if Leo was in his room. After making sure that he was there and not doing anything suspicious, she teleported to him.

“Oh, Queen!” exclaimed Leo, immediately noticing her appearance.

“Leo, I have a favor to ask of you,” — Arabel began without further ado. She shared what she was facing and asked him to take a closer look at the affairs of the two restaurants.

“Okay, I’ll take it on,” Leo happily agreed to take on the assignment.

“By the way, I have a suspicion that the Eye of the Web will start investigating the activities of these restaurants, so be on your guard,” Arabel added, when Darkia’s grin involuntarily flashed through her thoughts.

“Oh! Really?” — instead of fear, a challenge flashed in Leo’s eyes.

“The probability is very high,” — Arabel concluded and teleported away, returning to her home.

“There’s still a little time,” Arabel remarked, realizing that sunset was still a long way off.

“Maybe I should practice cooking,” she whispered, remembering that she hadn’t cooked herself in days.

“Hmm… where’s the manual on the basic cooking techniques?” she asked, not finding them anywhere.

[Host, your partner is currently studying this manual],” the System intervened, kindly telling them where to look.

“Oh! So Dan has them,” Arabel smiled when she learned that her husband was studying culinary techniques.

“Well, then I’ll do something else,” she said, and immediately remembered the Manual to Dual Cultivation. Knowing that this was a very sensitive issue, Arabel decided to go to the bedroom of the “Family Home” so that no one would distract her from studying this interesting material.

Sitting comfortably on the large bed where she had recently spent her second best night with her husband, slightly carried away by frank thoughts, Arabel took out a Manual on Dual Cultivation.

Her heart started beating faster when she saw this inscription, and her face burned with excitement.

With increasing trepidation, Arabel opened the cover and found only an empty sheet of paper.

“What?” she wondered, not expecting such disappointment.

And while she was looking at the blank sheet in disbelief, words began to appear on it, and with them explicit scenes of a man and a woman copulating, which immediately attracted her attention.

Seeing all these pictures, her imagination began to play out, and imagining herself in these poses, tumbling with Idan, she did not notice how over time she unwittingly wet the clean bedclothes.
