Chapter 985: I’m too late

Chapter 985: I’m too late

After the death of the Flaming Condor, the only Diamond-ranked creature and the strongest among them, the other four lost their will to resist and surrendered.

Idan opened an access portal and handed over the new prisoners to Sierra and Prina. He himself, without canceling his Flame Spirit Form, rushed in the direction where he had last felt the presence of Ned and the Dragon.

Fueled by the energy of the Anomaly itself, Idan spared no effort and flew as fast as he could.

He soon got the answer he wanted to know from Sierra.

The reason why the Creatures of Fire had ambushed him.

It was clear that they had colluded with the Creatures of Darkness, and he was the target of these five.

“So it’s because of my bloodline?” Idan snorted.

The reason turned out to be quite simple.

During his visit to the Awakened Association meeting, when he appeared as an Alpha of Fire, Idan attracted the attention of these creatures. More precisely, they were attracted by the purity and strength of his bloodline.

In order to obtain this bloodline, they colluded with Rezkar and set up an ambush.

“So the ones who attacked the group are Rezkar?”

“And you haven’t heard from the group? Is no one answering your messages?”

Idan’s anxiety grew with each new piece of news he received from Arabel.

***

In the Kingdom, in the living room of Arabel and Idan’s private home, there was a tense silence.

Something was happening in the vicinity of the capital of the Federation, but what exactly was unknown, and it could not but cause concern.

At the same time, Arabel and her companions received disturbing messages: first about the ambush on Idan, and then about the loss of communication with the expedition group in the Fire Anomaly.

“Is it still quiet?” Arabel asked, and Milena shook her head.

So far, none of the group members who had the {Whisper Talisman} have been in touch. Neither Hayley nor Hazel.

“Did Prina find out anything else besides the reasons for the ambush on Dan?” Arabel turned to Sierra, who was sitting on a chair and seemed to be the calmest person present.

“Only that there are only Creatures of Darkness and Fire involved,” Sierra replied, pouring herself hot coffee.

“From the very entrance to the Anomaly, they were expecting our group to appear and were looking for them.”

“Hmm… not enough,” Sierra took a sip, added more sugar, stirred, and tried again. Smiling, which tasted better now, she looked up and looked at Arabel.

“In the end, they discovered them and waited for the right moment to attack.”

“And that moment came when Dan left the band?”

Arabel started biting her thumb nails in excitement.

“Yes,” Sierra nodded, still sipping her coffee.

Milena did not stop updating the chat in {Whisper Talisman}. She was no less alarmed than Arabel when she learned that the same Dark Dragon who had set his eyes on her had ambushed the Guild members, among whom was one of her sworn Valkyrie sisters.

Time passed, but there was still no news from the group.

Arabel and the others could only hope that Idan would make it in time.

***

Idan was rapidly approaching the last place where his partners were.

Like Arabel, he believed he would make it in time.

Although he had lost contact with them, the two stars from his First Constellation were still intact.

Suddenly, Idan felt a powerful explosion of fire elements far ahead.

Boom!

There was a deafening roar, stronger than any eruption Idan had seen before.

The area in front of him began to tremble, and the space around him cracked.

Being in the Flame Spirit Form, Idan felt as if the World itself was crying, trying to hold back the incredible released power ahead.

“Graaaaaaa!” came a thunderous roar from the Dragon, which almost deafened Idan.

“This is…”

The shock made Idan slow down for a moment.

“A sixth-rank creature!”

Idan had no doubts. He couldn’t confuse these fluctuations of power and sensation with anything after his experience of encountering two sixth-rank creatures.

A sixth-rank creature appeared ahead.

“But that’s imposs…” Idan didn’t finish his words.

At first, he couldn’t understand how a sixth-rank being could be here in the heart of the Anomalies. But then he remembered a young man with long red hair and two horns.

Hailey’s second contract, which she signed with the sixth Rank Fire Dragon from Limbo thanks to Esma.

The dragon she brought with her to Earth.

A dragon whose power was limited by Hailey’s contract.

The realization of this fact did not bring Idan relief. On the contrary, it only increased his anxiety.

“If Raynar started raging, then something must have happened to Hailey.”

Only in such a situation, when the contract was no longer valid, could Raynar reveal his true power as a sixth-rank being.

Idan understood this well.

His heart clenched at the realization.

Hailey was their first devoted follower, and Idan and Arabel had no doubts about her loyalty. She had a bit of an explosive and unpredictable personality, but he liked her in her own way.

With the release of Reynar’s power, Idan’s lost bond with Ned and the Baby Dragon was restored.

“Ned is still fighting.”

“And the Baby Dragon…”— Idan fell silent, feeling the sadness and anxiety of the Baby dragon.

“No, I don’t believe that,” he said confidently, denying the possibility of such an outcome.

He accelerated his flight, putting all his strength into it.

Soon, he noticed that Reynar’s fluctuations began to subside, and the cracks in space began to close.

He saw huge destruction ahead.

Appearing above the battlefield in the Flame Spirit Form, he instantly attracted the attention of everyone who was there.

“I’m too late”, — Idan realized with sadness.

The battle has already ended.

At least here on earth.

Idan looked up and saw two creatures fighting high in the sky. One of them exploded, filling the sky with a huge radiance of the Element of Light.

Subsequently, one of them collapsed, sending a huge cloud of ash into the air.

“Graaaaa!” a dragon roared furiously, and a giant dark dragon emerged from the wreckage, emitting black smoke all over its body.

A bright figure, over two meters tall, with long blond hair and golden eyes descended from the sky. Behind him, two wheels of light hummed and rotated, forming an infinity sign.

“Lumiar.” Idan immediately recognized this figure as his second Bloodline, which he lost during a clash with the Queen of the Womskinner race.

Of course, this being was Ned, who, unlike Idan, had not lost the copied form of his Master’s Lumiar race.
