Chapter 1608: Finding the Enemy

Chapter 1608: Finding the Enemy

"!!!" Oscar realized something. There were currently two main points of attack. The first one was in the west direction, but this attack was more concentrated on the northern area, which could be handled by the Demon Banner Army he led.

The second attack was in the south direction. It was split into two, with the first one aiming to pierce the heart of the Atracaeca Kingdom while the other was trying to enter the Zaecuria Kingdom.

However, the Atracaeca Kingdom had done its best to ensure that their attack couldn’t succeed, even if it meant reinforcing the area with a lot of protectors.

Due to this defensive action, there was a small gap between the south and the west fronts.

That was the southwest front. It was a small gap, but if they entered with an elite group and turned around, it could lead to a devastating attack.

In fact, there was no way to predict whether they were trying to head to the capital or hit the western or southern fronts after that.

Oscar had been taking care of the western front with all his ability, but he had underestimated the demons.

He hadn’t prepared for the gap. No, there wasn’t supposed to be a gap in the first place.

However, due to the large number of demons swarming into the Atracaeca Kingdom, they created a small hole in the middle.

"Not good!" Oscar gasped.

"Something is wrong?" Laufey asked while frowning.

"I’m afraid so." Oscar nodded. "There is a gap in the southwest. I’m afraid that the demons will take advantage of this gap to do whatever they want."

"Southwest..." Laufey’s expression turned dark. If they hit them from behind, they would be pincered hard, and the defense line would most likely be destroyed.

However, the demons could also aim for the capital. The capital was the brain of the entire situation, so if it were gone, there would be a lack of chains of command.

This would paralyze the entire kingdom. The kingdom would ultimately fall.

"I’m going to tell her." Laufey gulped down.

"Not just that. Please tell her that if my assumption is correct, there might be some ancient demons. They might place some ancient demons here as well to stop us from reinforcing the area. So, it’s best for you to take your main airship. I heard it could kill an ancient demon, no?"

Laufey thought for a moment before nodding his head. "We will bring it as well. You should remain here."

"Yeah. I’m assuming there are ancient demons that want to keep us here, so I will handle those demons. If it’s a defensive battle, even if I can’t win, you know me..."

"Yeah. Even if you can’t win, you won’t be defeated." Laufey smiled. "In that case, I will be off. Let’s have a drink once this is over, Brother."

"!!!" Oscar’s body shook as he turned his head around to see Laufey, but the latter had disappeared.

Oscar could only scratch the back of his head helplessly. He looked at the sky with a smile, replying in his heart. ’Yeah. Let’s have a drink, my brother. All three of us.’

As soon as Laufey reached Anna, he reported all the things that Oscar had predicted.

"So that’s how it is..." Anna gasped. She already had a feeling, but she never thought the situation would be that harsh.

She thought for a moment before raising her finger. "We will only bring two airships with us. However, the airship is slightly too slow. Tell them to catch up to me."

"!!!" Laufey was taken aback. "Are you planning to... No, that can’t be done. This is too dangerous."

"I have to go right away. If not, I will be too late."

"!!!" Laufey didn’t want to believe it, but Noel was right. Her instinct was accurate that it might go beyond one’s rationality.

If he didn’t believe her instinct after all that, he couldn’t call himself an uncle.

"Understood. However, let’s go together." Laufey insisted with a solemn expression, not planning to budge.

Anna narrowed her eyes but didn’t argue further. "Alright."

Laufey immediately turned around and shouted, "Golden Eagle, Golden Crow. These two will be heading south immediately. Chase after us and eliminate all the demons in your way.

"Ignore any threat unless it’s necessary for you to catch up to us," Laufey shouted.

Before they replied, Anna had already jumped off the airship as if to show that this order was approved by her.

There was no reason for them not to follow her order, so the two airships started to turn.

Laufey, on the other hand, followed Anna at full speed.

"Uncle. This might be a one-way trip. The enemy might be waiting for us, you know?"

Laufey smiled. "I have done a lot of bad things to you. It’s time for me to repay it. Besides, what kind of uncle will let his niece venture into danger by herself? I won’t be able to face my nephew if that happens. We are a family. It’s normal for us to sacrifice for each other."

Anna smiled. "I need to correct you on one thing, Uncle. Noel said this once, and I agreed with him. We don’t sacrifice for each other. We live for each other. So, no matter what happens, survive! That’s an order as the wife of the current patriarch."

Laufey felt moved. It looked like it wasn’t wrong for Anna and Noel to be together. "If that’s an order, there’s nothing I can’t do. I’ll make sure to accomplish it."

Anna and Laufey continued to the south. All the demons that saw them tried to attack, but their speed couldn’t be underestimated.

As they approached it, Anna’s instincts started tingling. It was clear that they were approaching an extraordinary presence.

Anna squinted her eyes, trying to locate that extraordinary power.

However, a massive scorpion suddenly extended its stinger from the ground as the body emerged from within the sand.

"Watch out!" Laufey warned her.

Anna had noticed it, but Laufey skillfully blocked it, so there was no need for her to do anything.

But this wasn’t everything. A cactus suddenly expanded, its body becoming as big as the scorpion.

This cactus shot out needles from its body, forcing Laufey to summon a torrent of blood to receive the attack.

"Are you alright?"

"Please go ahead. I can stop them until the airships catch up just fine."

Although she was worried, she had no choice but to trust her.

"Understood. Be careful, Uncle." Anna nodded and headed forward until she finally found the source of the extraordinary power.

"So, it’s you..." Anna shouted from the sky as she dove while swinging her sword.

"How did you find me?!" A human figure suddenly turned around and struck her sword, the clash of their spiritual energy causing a powerful explosion that cleared up a small space around them.
