Chapter 679: PRINCESS JASMINE
Chapter 679: PRINCESS JASMINE
Before I could decipher or process what had just happened or what she even meant, the door were swung open and heavily armored guards trooped in.
Before Otto could react, they had silver chains throw on his body.
He howled and screamed as he fell down the floor.
I could see the silver sizzling and it burned into his skin.
"Otto!" I screamed as I jumped up to my feet.
The woman caught my hand and held me back before I could go to him.
"Let me go!" I snapped as I attempted to jerk free.
But her hand was griping my wrists so fimly I was held back down.
She slowly stood up to her feet and she said. "You better stay princess. You don’t want anything to happen to you or your child do you?"
I felt the hair at the back of my neck stand in alarm at the threat casually thrown.
I jerked free but she caught my hand quickly and whirled me around to face her.
She gave me a dirty slap and my face turned the other cheek.
I gasped as I felt the burning impact of her hand print on my cheek.
Her face held no emotion.
No happiness, no wicked delight, no surprise or remorse.
Nothing.
Just a plain and cold face.
And that scared me.
I heard some boots approach.
I turned and saw the guards all step aside and create a path for someone to walk through.
The boots marching up on the cold floorboards approached and finally a man dressed in the same dark amour stood in front of me.
He had a mustache and dark hair fashioned in a short ponytail.
His own uniform seemed different from all the others and from the way they revered him, I couldn’t tell he was the leader.
He smiled at me.
"Jasmine." He said the moment he was inches away from me.
It baffled me that my jaw was casually being shared around
The fear gripped me instantly.
We had been caught.
The Queen’s people had finally caught up to us and now there was no running.
I had put Otto’s life in jeopardy .
I looked down at him, the guards had picked him up from the floor and forced him to stand.
The silver chains were wrapped around his entire body.
I knew that as a rapid reaction wolf, the effect silver would have on him would be worse than a usual wolf’s.
It would hurt him more than it would a regular wolf.
And that meant he could die faster as his wounds wouldn’t heal as fast.
The man smiled at me, he looked like he was in his early forties, the same age as Otto.
He did the strangest thing.
The last thing I expected him to.
He went down on one knee and only before me, his head bowed down to the ground.
"It is an honor to finally see you your majesty." He said.
I was lost.
I looked behind me and then around to be sure it was me he was talking to.
They all had their heads cast down in a bow.
Even the nasty healer.
"Are you talking to me?" I asked a hint of sarcasm in my voice.
The man rose up his head and stood to his full length.
"If not you your majesty." He began with a face drawn in honesty. "Then who else."
I scoffed at the ridiculousness of anything.
"I’m not a majesty or anything." I said not pleased at being arrested for treason in the future. "I know the Queen sent you after me. Please just let him go. There is no need for any of this."
He looked at me with confused eyes.
He chuckled and looked at his men before turning back to face me.
"Queen?" He said seemingly lost. "We have no Queen. Only a king."
I was taken aback by that remark
Only a king?
What the hell was he even talking about?
Everyone knew that in wolf Kingdom, the present Queen was the one person who was related to royalty.
The King was not royal blood.
Everyone knew this.
So what was he even speaking about.
This must be some joke to them.
I sighed and closed my eyes.
"Please I know the game is up." I said already exhausted. "He had nothing to do with this. It is me you want. Just take me to her and let-
"Jasmine." Otto managed through his bleeding. "D... don.... T.. Don..."
"You will let him go." I said cutting Otto short as I let my terms and agreements be known.
He shook his head. "You’re mistaken. We have no Queen. Only one King."
I blinked wondering what mess I had gotten myself into.
"Your friend here." The man said as he motioned to Otto who had cuts and blood over himself. "Is a rapid wolf and we can not let him roam free. He is dangerous to us as he is to you your majesty."
This majesty thing again.
Realizing that all I was saying was falling on deaf ears, I sighed to myself.
"What do you want?" I asked him.
"We want you to meet our king." He told me.
I blinked at him.
I was still trying to grasp what this all meant.
There was no other king except for King Roland and I knew it was most definitely not him.
I knew I had no choice than to go along.
"Okay. I’ll go with you." I finally said. "But you need to let him go before I do."
The man turned to the guard and nodded at them.
They led Otto out
I panicked. "Where are you taking him to."
He turned back to face me. "He would have his chains removed but he can not be let to roam. I assure you your majesty no harm shall befall him."
I watched as Otto and as led away.
And my heart broke.
"Let’s go your majesty." He said
