The Alpha's Unwanted Bride

Chapter 787: FALLEN BROTHERS

Chapter 787: FALLEN BROTHERS

AIDEN’S POV

Aiden didn’t bother knocking at the door.

He simply pushed it open and Storme din.

Bale jumped in almost instantly from his pile of books.

Aiden looked at his brother, a pile of raving mess, his hair unkept and his eyes red from probably no sleep.

To think that they were actually even twins sometimes got Aiden in awe.

“Sweet Selene.” Bale swore in annoyance. “I know you think you’r the king of the pack and all that bullshit but can you fucking knock at least.” Bale snorted as he bent down and began picking up the pages that had fallen under table.

Aiden sighed heavily.

He took slow strides to where Bale sat and helped him pick up some of the pages.

Aiden frowned when he saw one of the papers closely.

It was a drawing of the constellation and calculations.

It was the one thing that Bale was obsessed with.

“Orion’s star huh?” Aiden asked with a cocked brow as he examined the drawing closely.

He traced his finger along the writings.

Aide felt it snatched so quickly out of his fingers his heard a tear.

“Hey. I was just looking. No need to get aggressive.” Aiden said in defense raising his hand up. ”Don’t touch my stuff.” Bale hissed with warning. “Moreover didn’t you say this was all crazy and insane stuff to you. Just nerd and loser shit.”

Bale rose up to his feet as he crossed the room and opened up a drawer.

Bale was right.

He had actually used those words.

He was the one who had introduced Bale to astrology along with everything that came with it.

The stars, the stories and legends.

He had introduced his baby brother at time they had been his own dreams too.

But eventually he had been forced to grow up.

Forced to realise that he was only after trivial things and that things were bigger out there.

More important than some washed up dream that would never go anywhere.

His father had made that clear.

He didn’t want to get Bale hurt so he had sucked up and been the elder brother for both of them.

“What the hell do you want?” Bale asked irritated. “Ready to tell me that the party is here to take me to that boring cold place you call home?”

Bale finished putting the papers into a drawer before replacing the ink in for his quill.

Aiden sighed heavily.

To think that we used to be so close.

But Bale was too stubborn to se the bigger picture.

So stubborn to understand that whatever decision he had made when they were younger was for the good of them.

However it amazed him that despite how much they had drifted apart, Bale still held the things he had shared to him personal.

In fact from the paper he had seen they were rent calculations that had been done.

He had expected Bale to have thrown everything, buried or burned them. But to see that he still had them.

Which meant Bale had resumed the study after he had walked away.

“I was only looking out for you. You know this-

“You can save the fake caring brother story. It’s just you and I so you don’t need to pretend.” Bale said as he closed up his journals.

Aiden sighed.

It was pointless.

Bale always acted like a child.

“The party of wolves that were supposed to take you home were attacked by rogue wolves.” Aiden finally informed. “So you won’t be able to travel anymore for the mean time.”

Bale immediately turned around and Aiden saw his face light up.

But the moment it did, it went away.

Bale turned around and resumed backing him.

“If you’re going to resume staying in this pack.” Aiden said. “You need to adhere to the rules that I set in place. No wondering off like you did. If you are going anywhere you will inform me.”

Bale sat and rolled his eyes.

Why was he even bothering.

Speaking to Aiden was like speaking to a child.

“You know what? Speaking to you is difficult. To be honest I wish you weren’t here. At least you wouldn’t be an addition to my problems. If anything happens to you mother would never forgive me. So I will station a guard to watch your every move twenty four seven.”

Bale turned around and went berserk.

“What the hell?! If you’re going to do that then you might as well just send me on the road with the rogue wolves!” Bale snapped up to his feet. “You’re treating me like a fucking prisoner. Like I’m some child.”

“Well when you stop acting like one then we can reevaluate things. But until then, you need to have someone on your watch.” Aiden said and the turned to leave.

Speaking to Bale was nothing but a waste of time.

He should have known better.

“You get to do whatever you want and I can’t. Just because I came years later?” Bale walked up to Aiden, his eyes glowing.

Aiden could feel the shift as Bale’s wolf began to take control.

“I’m the same with you years later or not. I have my rights.” Bale growled.

Aiden looked Bale all over and moved up to him, there were inches apart.

He sniffed him over, his own wolf becoming dominant. “STAND DOWN.”

Bale tried to resist.

He pushed his head, trying to maintain his stance.

Bale began to flinch, his eyes flickering and then he took steps back.

Aiden walked, now more confident and stronger.

Eventually Bale’s wolf whimpered and he turned away.

Aiden took in a very deep breath, turned on his heel and finally made it to the door.

“And you will stay away from that Ruby girl.” Aiden chipped in. “She is trouble you can not handle.” And with that he slammed the door shut so hard, it felt as though the entire pack house would come crashing down
