Chapter 2346: New race, new abilities
"BOOOOOOMMMM!"
A massive explosion echoed through the sky as the fists of the Scarlet King and the Ancient One collided. White and scarlet-obsidian lightning blasted around them, a manifestation of their overgod power.
Cain felt the bones in his arms tremble violently as he met the Ancient One head-on, the impact so overwhelming it felt as if his limbs might burst apart at any moment.
It was clear that the physical strength of the Ancient One remained monstrous. Yet he endured. He remained firm, teeth clenched, a fierce smile spreading across his face.
The rise of the dodecaedron and his racial evolution had not improved his cultivation base, but it had triggered a massive transcendental transformation of his soul and bodily framework. His battle power had risen dramatically—enough to endure the shocking might of one of the strongest life-forms in the entire universe.
While one smiled, the face of the other twisted in rage and frustration.
The Ancient One could scarcely believe what was happening.
Every time he came close to success, something intervened and pushed him back. His schemes, laid out over billions of years, were meant to be flawless. Backup after backup, so nothing could stop him from crossing the Eternity Gate.
And yet, because of a brat who had not even lived a thousand years, everything was collapsing.
How could he accept that?
"Why don’t you just die!?"
The Ancient One roared as he sent a brutal hook toward Cain’s temple. Cain managed to dodge it at the last second, twisting his body aside before responding with a devastating uppercut. The blow landed squarely on the jaw of the ancient monster, driving him farther into the sky.
"He’s still weakened," Cain thought, his smile deepening.
Even with his evolution, Cain was not confident he could face the Ancient One at full power. But while the man’s body had largely recovered, his soul and unique authority had not. That weakness was Cain’s opportunity—and he intended to exploit it.
His wings flared as he launched himself higher into the sky, energy burning through his veins as the rules and laws of the universe connected to every cell of his body.
The Ancient One regained control just in time. His eyes grew empty as he forcibly suppressed all emotion—rage, hatred, frustration—until his mind entered a state of supreme battle clarity. Billions of years of combat experience surged forth.
He dodged Cain’s next blow with precision and countered with a crushing strike to the chest that sent the Scarlet King tumbling through the air.
Blood leaked from the corner of Cain’s mouth, yet he only laughed. The attacks of the Ancient One wounded him greatly, but they failed to break him, which meant he could put everything he had on offense. With rising killing intent, he flashed back into the fray.
Below them, everyone at the heart of Origin Island remained locked in place. The shadow sphere of the Ancient One imprisoned them—either burning them as fuel or crushing them beneath the overwhelming pressure of the Matrix. Their bodies could not rise.
The Demon King, Meylin, and the remaining warriors could only watch.
High above, obsidian-scarlet wings and white plasma wings clashed again and again, each radiating power so immense that the world itself shimmered with wonder and terror. There was nothing they could do but hope—for Cain’s victory, or at least that he could endure long enough for the island to close.
Cain’s eyes blazed with brilliant scarlet light as the Power of Chaos and the Flow surged to astonishing levels. He dodged another strike, twisted his body mid-air, and unleashed a devastating spinning kick toward the Ancient One’s face.
But just as it was about to land, the Ancient One’s eye glowed.
A force of Negation halted the kick mid-motion.
Blood leaked from that eye, evidence of the terrible backlash caused by summoning the power. Still, the Ancient One showed no concern. His palm flashed forward, slamming into Cain’s chest and generating a repulsive force that blasted him away.
Cain was sent hurtling through the sky, blood spraying from his mouth. He barely had time to process the pain before the Ancient One was already advancing again.
Cain’s eyes sharpened.
He took a deep breath and opened his palm.
Immediately, his own energy—and the energy of the world itself—gathered into his hand, condensing into an obsidian sphere of plasma. Just as the Ancient One reached him, Cain released the attack.
A cannon of pure destruction erupted, so immense it made the sky tremble. The blast engulfed the Ancient One completely, hurling him into the distance.
A flicker of shock appeared in the Ancient One’s otherwise empty gaze.
That obsidian blast carried terrifying power. It seemed capable of ignoring all forms of energy and cosmic defense, burning his body severely.
Even Cain was surprised.
"It feels like I’m combining the destructive essence of the Neo-Demon True Doomsday Body with the destruction inherent to the universe itself," he realized. "Elevating it into something entirely different."
It was clear that his new race came with abilities he had yet to fully understand. But there was no time to explore them now.
"Let instinct take over."
With that thought, Cain surged forward. His hands extended as he unleashed a volley of obsidian plasma shots.
The Ancient One attempted to repel them with the Power of Negation, but the attacks pierced through it. The only advantage he gained was a brief moment to dodge.
It took all his focus, but the Ancient One managed to dodge the volley.
Unfortunately for him, that distraction was all Cain needed.
Cain appeared directly in front of him.
Both palms came together, forming an obsidian sphere far denser than before—packed with an overwhelming concentration of power.
Then Cain unleashed it point-blank.
"BOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!"
An obsidian explosion illuminated the sky, followed by a beam that slammed into the ground, carrying the Ancient One with it. The impact carved a massive canyon across Origin Island, the earth splitting apart under the sheer force.
