The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1335: Great Shen Empire: Chaotic situation

Chapter 1335: Great Shen Empire: Chaotic situation

In the distance, Souta stared at the monsters pouring out of the spatial cracks, their grotesque forms spilling into the world as enormous tentacles pried the rifts wider.

‘Hmmm… So that’s how it is.’

Souta finally understood how the Lord of the Wood had appeared in this land. The arrival of such an entity was bound to draw the attention of the higher beings from the Immortal Land. Before long, they would begin arriving at this location one after another.

The Holy Lands had originally planned to launch an all-out assault against the Lord of the Wood, yet for some reason, they had never carried out their plan. Instead, they had merely dispatched a few God-rank beings to the three theaters.

They dared to launch an all-out attack against the Ruler of Gluttony, but they never did it against the Lord of the Wood. No matter how he think about it, it’s strange.

His gaze shifted toward Red Mist, who floated in the air near the spatial crack. He couldn’t help but wonder how she had managed to strike a deal with the Lord of the Wood.

Was it simply because of that dark cube?

If so, then the cube must hold considerable importance to the Lord of the Wood.

‘Well, it doesn’t matter. It’s time for me to make a move.’

Souta turned his gaze toward the four figures standing before him. He already knew that they belonged to the Council of High World.

Before the Lord of the Wood could fully manifest in this land, he had to finish this battle.

Without warning, the sword in Souta’s hand erupted with dazzling black-and-white light. He swung it toward the four members of the Council of High World, unleashing a devastating slash.

[Yin Yang Unification]!!

The moment the equipment skill activated, the power behind the slash surged explosively, its energy multiplying in an instant.

Whooosh!!

The four members of the council immediately sensed the violent burst of energy approaching from behind. Their expressions changed as they hurriedly turned around, only to realize that the attack was already upon them.

There was no time to dodge.

They had no choice but to summon barriers and brace themselves for the incoming strike.

They had made a fatal mistake.

Their attention had been too focused on the Monster Lord that was about to descend upon this world. They had allowed themselves to become distracted by the overwhelming presence of that terrifying entity, leaving themselves vulnerable to an attack from Souta.

It was understandable. This was the first time they had personally experienced the energy of a Monster Lord. The sheer magnitude of that power had left them momentarily petrified, their instincts screaming at them to prioritize the threat before their eyes.

But that moment of hesitation was all Souta needed.

BAANGGGGG!!

The energy blade slammed into their barriers, unleashing a tremendous explosion. The resulting shock wave tore through the surrounding air as the force of the impact threatened to shatter their defenses.

Without waiting to see the outcome, Souta shifted his attention to Kers Time and Thousand Earth.

He casually waved his hand.

The four spider limbs extending from his back shot forward like bullets, tearing through the air as they lunged toward his two opponents.

Kers Time snorted. He thrust his hand forward, and the flow of time around him rippled violently as he activated a time barrier, attempting to halt the incoming spider limbs before they could reach him.

“Do you really want to fight us?” Kers Time asked coldly.

A Monster Lord was about to descend upon this world, and these people were still wasting their time fighting each other. The most sensible course of action was to retreat as quickly as possible before they were caught in the catastrophe.

Yet Souta showed no intention of backing down.

Souta grinned before replying, “Of course. It doesn’t matter whether a Monster Lord is about to descend here or not. You will still die.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Souta clenched his fists.

A tremendous surge of blood-colored lightning erupted from the four spider limbs on his back. The crimson bolts writhed violently, branching outward like countless serpents before converging upon the time barrier.

The barrier trembled.

Crack!!

The blood-colored lightning tore through the temporal distortion, shattering the barrier in an instant.

BOOM!!

Souta surged forward with his sword in hand, charging straight into the fray without the slightest hesitation. He had no intention of retreating, even when faced with multiple powerful enemies. No matter how many opponents stood in his way, he would meet them head-on.

The four members of the Council of High World quickly recovered from the previous attack. Their eyes widened as they saw Souta charging toward them, his blood-colored lightning illuminating the devastated surroundings.

At the same time, Thousand Earth rushed forward to intercept him.

Souta’s grin widened.

[Archetype: Great Blood of the End]!!

[Second Form: Blood Lightning Piercing Through the Heavens]!!

[Fourth Form: Lightning Critical Enhancement]!!

The moment the two forms activated, Souta’s entire body erupted with crimson lightning. His energy surged to another level as the blood-colored bolts coiled around his limbs and sword, releasing a deafening crackle that reverberated through the air.

In the next instant, his figure vanished.

ZAAAP!!

Souta transformed into a streak of red lightning, tearing across the battlefield at terrifying speed. Before the four members of the council could fully react, he had already appeared directly in front of them, his sword poised to strike.

Less than a second had passed.

BANG!!!

Souta shattered their formation, his sword plunging straight through the chest of one of the four members of the Council of High World.

“Ugh!!”

The short-haired man spat out a mouthful of blood. His eyes widened in disbelief as he lowered his gaze toward the sword embedded in his chest.

He couldn’t believe it.

His defenses had collapsed far sooner than he had expected. The moment Souta’s sword struck, its terrifying piercing power had torn through his protection as though it were nothing more than paper.

Souta had deliberately chosen him as his first target. Among the four, the short-haired man possessed the weakest defensive capabilities, making him the most vulnerable to a sudden assault.

His earlier attack had been nothing more than a probe, allowing him to gauge their defenses and identify the weakest link in their formation.

And now, he had found his first victim.

The other three members of the council widened their eyes as they watched Souta drag their wounded comrade away into the distance. They immediately moved to pursue him, unwilling to let their companion fall into his hands.

But before they could close the distance, several pitch-black holes materialized in their path, distorting the surrounding space and obstructing their advance.

Then, a massive surge of blood-colored lightning erupted in the distance.

SWOOOOSH!!!

Crimson lightning flooded the sky, its violent flashes illuminating the battlefield as a terrifying wave of energy spread through the air.

Thousand Earth halted his pursuit, remaining suspended in midair. He glanced at the three unfamiliar figures before shifting his gaze toward the distant mass of blood-colored lightning.

He slowly shook his head.

‘They’re underestimating the Blood Lightning Monster far too much… They still haven’t grasped the fact that he’s stronger than they are.’

Thousand Earth narrowed his eyes as he watched the crimson lightning churn in the distance.

The members of the Council of High World had allowed the impending arrival of the Monster Lord to distract them, but that wasn’t their only mistake.

They had also underestimated the monster standing right in front of them.

Kers Time flew over to Thousand Earth and stopped beside him.

“What are we going to do now?” he asked.

“Fight,” Thousand Earth replied calmly.

“Fight?!” Kers Time exclaimed, momentarily taken aback.

He glanced toward the other side of the battlefield, where more than a thousand monsters were spreading out from the enormous spatial crack. Their grotesque figures swarmed across the devastated land, and their numbers continued to grow with every passing moment.

“Did we fail our mission?”

“Yes. Our mission was to retrieve that thing, but now it’s become a medium for summoning the Monster Lord and bringing those other monsters into this world,” Thousand Earth replied.

From what they had witnessed, Bloom Lotus had become nothing more than a puppet manipulated by the Hero they had supported. In the end, their plan had still failed. They had overlooked one crucial factor: Red Mist’s willingness to tamper with the object, even at the risk of bringing disaster upon the entire land.

“Then shouldn’t we retreat now?” Kers Time asked.

It was difficult to ignore the urge to flee when a higher being could descend upon this land at any moment. No matter how powerful he was, Kers Time knew his own limitations. Before an existence like the Monster Lord, even someone of his caliber would be nothing more than a speck of dust.

However, Thousand Earth remained unmoved.

“Still, we can’t simply leave after failing our mission. We have to retrieve the [Sovereign Rune Formation] before it gets destroyed. Otherwise, all our efforts will have been wasted.”

He paused for a moment before turning his gaze toward the distant blood-colored lightning.

“Besides, we still have to settle the score with the Blood Lightning Monster.”

Kers Time’s expression darkened.

Even with the imminent arrival of the Monster Lord hanging over their heads, Thousand Earth was determined to fight. Their mission might have fallen apart, but he had no intention of leaving without recovering what they had lost or getting even with the monster who had just attacked them.
