Chapter 1337: Great Shen Empire: Danger
Chapter 1337: Great Shen Empire: Danger
She turned her gaze toward an area not far from the Royal Capital.
Even from this distance, she could see and hear the dense torrents of lightning pouring down upon the battlefield. Blood-colored bolts tore through the sky, illuminating the devastated land in a blinding crimson radiance. Wherever they struck, Fourth Stage and Third Stage monsters were instantly reduced to lifeless remains, their bodies unable to withstand the overwhelming destructive power.
“Gluttony Army! Council of High-Worlds!”
A wicked laugh echoed from within that sea of lightning.
Shen Yao froze for a moment.
That voice was familiar.
More importantly, the blood-colored lightning was far too distinctive to mistake for anything else.
“Blood Lightning Monster?! He’s here!!”
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
In truth, she had already sensed that familiar energy signature in the atmosphere earlier. However, she had been too preoccupied with her battle against Voltarion to give it much thought. With so much happening around her, she had dismissed the sensation as something she couldn’t afford to investigate.
Now, she finally understood.
“So he’s really alive…”
Rumors of the Blood Lightning Monster’s death had circulated for some time, but no one had ever discovered his corpse. As a result, his supposed death remained nothing more than speculation.
Some experts had even attempted to track him down, hoping to uncover the truth behind his disappearance. Yet all traces of him had vanished from the battlefield, leaving them with nothing to pursue.
And now, the monster who had disappeared without a trace had suddenly reappeared in the middle of this catastrophe.
Before Shen Yao could gather her thoughts, a tremendous storm of energy erupted from the distant battlefield.
BOOOOOOM!!!
Layers of rock and soil disintegrated beneath the overwhelming force as devastating shock waves swept outward in every direction. The ground convulsed violently, and the surrounding landscape was swallowed by a raging torrent of destruction that extended across a fifty-kilometer radius.
Everything caught within that vast area was obliterated.
The nearby cities were no exception.
Of course, there was little left to destroy. The cities surrounding the Royal Capital had already been among the first to suffer the Gluttony Army’s attacks. Their walls had crumbled, their streets had been reduced to rubble, and their once-thriving populations had been scattered by the earlier devastation.
Now, whatever remained was swept away by the latest eruption of power.
Shen Yao stared at the distant storm, her expression growing increasingly grave.
…
At the center of the impact zone, Souta hovered in midair, facing Thousand Earth and Kers Time.
Both opponents had unleashed their Archetypes, equipment skills, and other powerful abilities. The energy radiating from their bodies had reached such terrifying levels that even the very fabric of space trembled beneath their combined might.
Then, their Archetypes fully manifested.
Thousand Earth stood suspended in the air, his face covered in blood. His eyes remained fixed on Souta, burning with an intense fighting spirit.
Behind him stood a three-meter-tall humanoid figure. Its long, slender body was composed of highly compressed rocks and metals, each layer seemingly forged under unimaginable pressure. Long white hair cascaded down its back, while its fingers ended in sharp, claw-like nails. Within its body, immense energy surged like a turbulent storm, taking the form of thick, brownish mist that coiled around its rocky frame.
It was a golem.
And a powerful one at that.
[Archetype: Thousand Master of Earth Golem]!!
This was the Archetype of Thousand Earth.
Souta narrowed his eyes slightly as he examined his opponents.
It would be a lie to say that he felt no danger. His instincts were screaming at him, warning him that threats lurked in every direction.
Several Fifth Stage monsters were already surrounding the battlefield. As more creatures continued to pour out of the spatial crack, their encirclement would soon tighten around everyone present.
One wrong move, one moment of carelessness, and he could very well perish in this land.
The situation was becoming increasingly dangerous.
Yet Souta’s gaze remained steady as he assessed the two enemies before him.
Kers Time. Thousand Earth. Souta.
Three powerful combatants stood at the center of this chaotic battlefield, each prepared to fight the others while an army of monsters closed in around them.
Kers Time was a high-ranking officer of the Gluttony Army who wielded the power of time. He commanded thousands of subordinates and had long grown accustomed to standing above others, looking down upon those he considered beneath him.
Thousand Earth was a rising star within the Gluttony Army, one of the few individuals hailed as a potential member of the next generation of Heroes of Gluttony. He commanded the earth and rocks, demolishing everything that stood in his way with overwhelming force.
And then there was Souta.
The Blood Lightning Monster. The Monster Without Equal.
A terrifying existence who possessed unrivaled strength among those of the same level, repeatedly accomplishing feats that others considered impossible. He stood above his fellow monsters like an Emperor, wielding the power to kill and destroy without batting an eye.
The two sides stared at each other as the surrounding storm of energy continued to surge like a raging tide. The air twisted beneath their lingering power, while fragments of shattered rock and debris floated aimlessly around them.
Despite their overwhelming strength, neither side had emerged unscathed from their previous clash. Their injuries were proof that this battle would not be settled easily.
A strange silence descended upon the three of them.
Then, Kers Time made the first move.
He stepped forward and raised his fist, unleashing the power of his Archetype alongside his mastery over time.
A ripple spread outward.
In an instant, everything within its reach came to a standstill. The air ceased to flow, light froze in place, smoke stopped drifting, and even the turbulent energy surging across the battlefield became motionless.
Time itself had been brought under his control.
Kers Time appeared directly in front of Souta, his fist hurtling toward the latter’s head. His attack carried the terrifying power of time, forcibly reversing and halting everything caught within its reach.
BANG!!
Souta swiftly tilted his head to evade the blow, but he was still too slow to escape unscathed.
The armor covering the side of his face shattered. Its fragments scattered through the air before reverting into blood, only to vanish completely beneath the destructive influence of Kers Time’s temporal power.
Souta’s eyes narrowed.
He immediately raised his left leg and unleashed a sweeping kick toward Kers Time’s body.
Yet before his foot could reach its target, it abruptly stopped in midair.
Souta’s eyes widened slightly.
He could feel it.
An immense concentration of temporal energy had locked onto his foot alone, forcibly freezing its movement while the rest of his body remained free.
Kers Time had isolated a single part of his body and stopped it in time.
And for the first time in this exchange, Souta found himself momentarily caught off guard.
“Stopping the time of a single part of the body is much easier than stopping the entire body,” Kers Time explained calmly.
He raised both hands, bringing his palms together in front of him as an immense concentration of temporal energy swirled between them. The surrounding space began to distort under the pressure, and the energy gathered in his hands grew increasingly violent.
He was about to unleash a devastating attack when he suddenly sensed something approaching.
Kers Time looked up.
A bolt of lightning was hurtling straight toward him from above.
SWOOSH!!
He had no choice but to abandon his attack and evade the incoming bolt. His figure flickered as he swiftly moved away from its trajectory.
That brief moment was all Souta needed.
Light and darkness erupted around his body, intertwining in a violent surge of contrasting energies. Taking advantage of Kers Time’s distraction, Souta forcefully shattered the temporal restraint holding his foot in place.
Crack!!
The frozen space around his leg broke apart, and he immediately regained his freedom of movement.
At the same time, the power of light and darkness coiled around his sword, merging into a dazzling black-and-white radiance that threatened to tear through anything it touched.
Souta vanished.
In the next instant, he appeared directly in front of Kers Time, swinging his sword toward his opponent with terrifying speed.
Kers Time reacted immediately, his eyes widening as he raised his defenses against the incoming slash.
But Souta wasn’t the only one making a move.
Thousand Earth and his golem arrived from both sides, launching a coordinated pincer attack. One attacked from the left while the other struck from the right, their combined assault threatening to crush Souta between them.
Souta’s eyes flickered.
He swiftly kicked against the air and manipulated gravity to pull himself backward, abruptly changing his trajectory and slipping out of the encirclement just as the two attacks converged.
BOOM!!
The attacks collided, unleashing a violent shock wave that swept through the surrounding air.
However, Thousand Earth and his golem didn’t hesitate. The moment their attacks missed, they pursued Souta relentlessly, refusing to give him any breathing room.
Souta grinned.
[Second Form: Blood Lightning Piercing Through the Heavens]!!
[Fourth Form: Lightning Critical Enhancement]!!
ZAAAP!!
Crimson lightning exploded around his body, wrapping him in a blinding aura of destructive energy. His speed surged as the power of his Archetype and the enhancement skill erupted simultaneously.
In less than a split second, Souta transformed into a streak of red lightning and collided head-on with Thousand Earth and his golem.
BAAANG!!
The impact shook the battlefield, unleashing another tremendous shock wave as their powers violently clashed.
