Chapter 2064 Giving Remi Ideas

Chapter 2064 Giving Remi Ideas

While everyone else was in an uproar over the attacks, or the gossip, Remi and the other Alchemists were having a wonderful time.

The Plague Lords were more than a little slimy and stinky, but they were quite friendly, and exceptionally skilled. Plus, when you dunked them in swamp water, they actually smelled better.

The Swamp Dragons would have approved, if they were in the actual swamp, not the lab with a Naga Swamp spell active.

"{ What should we work on next? We've got lots of the new potion to go around, and the volunteers are all planned for after we finish. How about something interesting? One that we don't usually stock so that we can startle the people who come to the Alchemy Shops? }" Remi suggested.

"I would like to point out that we don't have an actual Alchemy Shop, only the display case in the Guild House," one of her apprentices noted.

"{ Oh, good point. We should really open one. Do we have someone who is good with people, and sales and stuff? I would try it, but I would likely end up giving away too much product just to test theories.

I know my limitations. }"

Remi's sad tone made the other Alchemists laugh.

She was absolutely right. The Naga would likely give away multiple potions per person, just to see how they interacted when you took them all at once.

The effect might not be what the customer was hoping for, but the data would be incredibly valuable.

One of the Obsession Demons raised her hand. "Why don't we do something fun this time? You just finished up a bunch of those potions for the Immortal Spirit, and we've been working hard on the healing and common utility potions.

There are no shortages in the stock for now.

So, if we make something that is unique and rare enough that it will draw people to the shop, we can use it to help get a new business established.

I don't mind working with people."

"Oh, that's a good idea. A gimmick product. Something that everyone wants but can't easily get."

"The blue chew!" Opal suggested.

None of the Alchemists had any idea what the Fae was talking about, but she looked happy, so it was likely a good thing.

That didn't change the fact that they couldn't make it if they didn't know what she was talking about.

"{ Or, we could make a bunch of body tempering pills in potion form. They're super annoying to make in pill form, but in potion form, they're cheap and easy. They just have a few side effects. }" Remi suggested.

"I am not sure that's a good signature product. You know, because of the side effects. We aren't going to get repeat customers if they suffer random curses from our potions," the Demon reminded her.

"{ Signature potion ideas are annoying. }"

The Demoness patted Remi on the back, consoling the temperamental Alchemist, and then the Plague Lords spoke up.

"Why not go back to the basics? The things that everyone else forgot about. If we put a good discount on the mana regeneration potions, the ones that last for an hour per use, the Immortals headed to the Dungeon will love our shop."

The others stared at the massive demon in amazement.

That was quite possibly the most brilliant idea that they had ever heard, and they even knew the potion. Or, they knew a low-grade mortal Realm version of the potion, so there was likely one that worked for Immortals as well.

Most Immortals used Stamina and health potions quite regularly. But the Mana Potions were a single shot of energy, and too expensive to be using all the time.

So, they were usually saved for emergencies, and the majority of the money went into healing potions.

You could run away without mana, but not without health.

"Do you know the recipe? One that works for Immortals?" The potential shopkeeper asked.

The Plague Demon nodded his head happily. "Not only do I know it, I know the antidote to it and no fewer than fifteen toxins that will completely nullify it."

Remi smiled. "{ You know, we're going to have to introduce you to Andrea soon, and let you spend some time together. She's also an Alchemist, a Pill Master, but she's also an assassin, and she runs the information network. }"

The Plague Lord nodded. "Assassins Guild members are always good customers. Not that I get to see a lot of customers anymore. I tell you, getting promoted sucks. They take you and put you somewhere with valuable stuff to guard, and then you never get to do any of the fun stuff anymore.

All I get is secondhand reports of how well my experiments worked."

Remi looked horrified.

That was quite possibly the very worst fate that she could think of. Sure, making new things was good, but making them and then never getting to see how they worked? That was even worse than not getting to make them at all.

"{ Alright, everyone will work on the long duration mana potions. Brother Plague, if you would be so kind as to tell me the ingredients, I will bring them from the warehouse. Or, have my bodyguards do it for us. }"

The big demon nodded. "It's actually a simple recipe, with a complex procedure. All we need is a watermelon, some swamp water, Frost Grass, and a Runic Purification array. You have to make the array first, and put it in the cauldron, or you end up making a mana bomb potion, that stops them from expelling all the mana they take in, until their mana veins burst."

That was both brilliant and horrific.

Opal wondered if they looked the same.

If they did, then it would be completely possible to lock down someone's mana and make them explode if they got you upset. They would never even suspect a thing, and you could look like a huge hero with the antidote, or a cleansing spell to save their lives.

Stupidity deserved to be punished, and there were few ways more effective than the fear of death.

Remi wondered what it would taste like. Watermelon and swamp water with the minty frost grass? That was a questionable one. Perhaps the purification array helped.
