Chapter 1190: Public Slander.

Loki wanted to stay there forever and watch Black Chain’s avatar get beaten until it turned to ashes. But then he remembered that he still had some goals to achieve.

So he said to Black Chain, "I have a deal for you."

"Admit it publicly and swear an oath with your true body that you tampered with the gray pillars. In exchange, I will let you go."

Unfortunately, Black Chain didn’t take the bait. The white monkey closed its eyes once more, oblivious to the world as its body shattered little by little.

"What a pity," Loki said while shaking his head.

He really thought it was a pity because he planned to cheat Black Chain with this deal while simultaneously clearing his good name.

It was a plan that could achieve two excellent goals. Unfortunately, Black Chain was being a sore loser and refused to play.

He could only say, "Your loss!"

Then the avatar entered the third dimension and rose into the divine constellation. After the avatar returned to the divine constellation, the Supreme Metac within it returned to Loki’s true body, leaving behind a projection of his power in the divine constellation.

The projection of his power then created phantom hands from the divine constellation and slammed them down on the Life Value Meters. Without someone to block him, the phantom hands were able to reach the gray pillars and grab them.

One by one, the gray pillars were uprooted. They were uprooted in every super world that they had been set up in, not just the Blessed Heaven World. Then they were sent to the upper realm to Loki’s true body to see if he could recalibrate them.

While uprooting the gray pillars, Loki made sure to say, "These Life Value Meters are fake."

"The Olympic Sect was created to train mortals into divine beings and to train divine beings into Dao Lords. Then those Dao Lords will ultimately be recruited by the Olympic Sect."

"That is the grand goal of the Olympic Sect. It is not something as silly as stealing lifespan from our disciples. We are not like other sects who like to cheat their disciples. We’re the only sect that you can trust."

Again and again, he shouted to tell the world that the Olympic Sect was trustworthy. He also made sure to point out that only the Olympic Sect can be trusted.

He didn’t name any particular sect to disparage, but he grouped every other sect and labeled them untrustworthy. As for whether he was telling the truth about the Olympic Sect’s grand goal, only time will tell.

While Loki was trying to repair and bolster his sect’s damaged reputation, Black Chain’s avatar was taking a beating of a lifetime. Unfortunately, all good things must end. In this case, the good thing that ended was watching Black Chain’s avatar getting whipped with lightning.

The white monkey reached its limit pretty quickly and shattered into pieces, leaving behind a white chain. The Will of the Blessed Heaven World took the Enslavement Supreme Metac, beaming the whole time.

Just as everyone waited for Black Chain to die, they saw his true body in the upper realm project a sliver of power from another Supreme Metac.

Black Chain sent the projection of the new Supreme Metac to every super world with his Domain already established. Even though the Will of the Blessed Heaven World just killed his avatar, he still sent the projection to the Blessed Heaven World.

After all, it wasn’t about feelings. It was all about benefits and power.

As long as there was a benefit to be gained, anyone could disregard their feelings and go ahead and work with an enemy they hate. That’s also why the Blessed Heaven World accepted the Supreme Metac’s projection, even though it didn’t need to.

"The Curse Supreme Metac, eh? How interesting," Tepid Scholar said after examining the new Supreme Metac.

Heavenly Eye clicked her tongue and said, "Black Chain is just so difficult to kill. He always seems to have a card up his sleeve. I am impressed, to be honest."

But Martial Will grumbled, saying, "So many tricks and twists. I don’t like it."

In the upper realm, Loki was working on the Life Value Meters. He had an understanding of artifacts through his mastery of the Forging Pathway, so he was fairly confident that he could fix the Life Value Meters.

As it turned out, he didn’t need much expertise because nothing was physically wrong with the Life Value Meters. They had been tweaked by injecting new instructions into their operating rules.

Apparently, any physical modification to the Life Value Meters risked destroying them. Since they were so expensive, the person who tweaked them chose the software route instead of tampering with the hardware.

The Life Value Meters kept trying to correct the errant instructions by resetting themselves, but something was blocking the reset.

"So as long as he reset the Life Value Meters, they should return to their proper state. In that case, I will be able to clear my name," he said, smiling as he inserted his Divine Spirit into the first Life Value Meter to reset it.

He had to reset the Life Value Meter with his Divine Spirit because it had no physical buttons he could use to control it. However, when his Divine Spirit entered the Life Value Meter, he sensed another Divine Spirit within the Life Value Meter.

The Divine Spirit within the Life Value Meter seemed to sense his intrusion. Before he could do anything, the Divine Spirit within the meter took action.
