Chapter 1191: The Black Skull.

The Divine Spirit within the Life Value Meter seemed to sense his intrusion. Before he could do anything, the Divine Spirit within the meter took action.

The Divine Spirit did something and the Life Value Meter exploded right before him. Just as he dashed away to avoid the explosion, an invisible power came out of the explosion and rushed towards him.

He didn’t realize that he was under attack when it happened. But he discovered the attack when he habitually placed the divinity from the spark of power into his Divine Perception.

He didn’t bother to use the Power Identification Ability because his normal Divine Perception was stronger than the Power Identification Ability in the upper realm.

With his Divine Perception boosted by 759 divinity, he was able to see that something was streaking through the space between him and the explosion. He also saw that it was a curse.

The curse was in the form of a black skull. The black skull was also cackling ominously and saying, "Die! Die! Die!"

As soon as he saw the curse, he moved the amplification of the spark of power to his Divine Speed so that he could increase the distance between him and the curse and avoid it.

Unfortunately, the curse picked up speed as soon as he became faster. In fact, the curse seemed to become much faster than him.

For some reason, the curse could sense him. No matter how he twisted and turned, it was always able to find him and narrow the gap between them.

Plus, he had been too close to the explosion when it happened so that he couldn’t avoid it. But before the curse could reach him, he moved the 759 free divinity into his Divine Spirit and activated the Devouring Divine Ability.

A black sphere appeared around him just as the black skull was about to touch him. So instead of touching him directly, the black skull had to touch and go through the black sphere.

The curse struck the black sphere with a power of Cultivation Rank(10) × Divine Spirit (55) × Divine Ability(7^3 × 20%) × Domain(39.2 billion sq km) × 10(Authority), which was 14,790,160 units of celestial power.

In response, the Devouring Divine Ability fought back with a power of Rank (10) × Divine Spirit (2 + 759) × Divine Ability(9^3 × 5%) × Domain(43.1 billion sq km) × 20(Authority), which was 239,105,439 units of celestial power.

The power of the Devouring Supreme Metac overwhelmed the cursed, ripped it apart, and devoured it. So the curse was neutralized.

Just as he sighed in relief, all of the Life Value Meters exploded. He didn’t touch them, but they all exploded at the same time.

Even without looking, he knew that more curses were on their way. But he still looked just to be sure.

He put the 759 free divinity into his Divine Perception and saw many black curses rushing towards him. There were 83 of them, the same number as the Life Value Meters that just exploded. And they were all cackling evilly.

This time, he didn’t bother to run away from them. He just put the free divinity back into the Divine Spirit and stood in place, ready for the clash.

The black skulls smashed into the Devouring Divine Ability with a sinister power, only to be devoured without a struggle. All 83 of them died like that.

Even though he had resolved the problem, he didn’t let down his guard. He took off into the distance, watching his surroundings vigilantly.

He also maintained the Devouring Divine Ability around him. It looked like a black sphere crossing the white landscape of the upper realm.

While he was running, he curled his lips as he thought, ’I am sure that Black Chain did this. He has his name written all over this.’

’Not only did he destroy the Life Value Meters, preventing me from using them, but he also set up a trap within them to kill me. His tricks are simply endless. I am constantly amazed by his ingenuity and resourcefulness,’ he thought as he clapped.

He clapped because he believed Black Chain deserved this much praise. He was impressed because if he had been a normal one-star celestial, that attack would have killed him.

Even with the conversion rate of the Devouring Supreme Metac having increased to 5% and his Authority increased to 20 units, making him much stronger than when he just became a Dao Lord, that attack would have surely killed him.

Without the boost of the Spark of Power, his power output would have been Rank (10) × Divine Spirit (2) × Divine Ability(9^3 × 5%) × Domain(43.1 billion sq km) × 20(Authority), which was 628,398 units of celestial power.

Even with the Authority Suppression Ability of the Divine Spark taking effect, the power of the curse would still be Cultivation Rank(10) × Divine Spirit (55) × Divine Ability(7^3 × 20%) × Domain(39.2 billion sq km), which was 1,479,016 units of celestial power.

So that curse should have killed him many times over. And it would have been because Black Chain laid a carefully planned trap for him, not because he fought him openly.

’It is unlike the Danger Sense Metac. The danger was right there, but it didn’t sense anything.’

’I can’t blame it too much anyway. 2-D Metacs are really handicapped in the upper realm,’ he thought, shaking his head.

’Anyway, now that the Life Value Meters have been destroyed, what do I do next? Should I try to get my own? How much do they cost anyway?’
