Chapter 1192: Like A Street Hawker.
To find how much the Life Value Meters cost, Loki sent his Divine Spirit into the Divine Court through his avatar. Then he messaged every member of the Divine Court.
He said, "Who here can acquire Life Value Meters for me?"
Less than a second after his message went out, many members replied. They sent him deals, offering to sell the Life Value Meters in exchange for Olympic Medals.
This level of enthusiasm put a smile on his face, and he said, "Who’s laughing now, Black Chain? You thought you could stump me by destroying them, but who is stumped now?"
He didn’t have access to their exchange system so he couldn’t buy the Life Value Meters himself. But this didn’t mean he couldn’t get someone to buy them for him.
His voice was smug, and he was full of himself because of the volume of messages he received. But when he read through the messages, he couldn’t help but frown.
"One of the Life Value Meters for one Silver Medal? Are they that expensive?" he asked in surprise.
That was the cheapest offer. Some of the members were asking for up to 10 Silver Medals for one Life Value Meter. That’s up to two thousand Celestial Gold for one Life Value Meter.
"Even the best offer is asking for one Silver Medal, which is worth 200 Celestial Gold. That means the 84 Life Meters that just exploded were worth 16,800 Celestial Gold."
"That can’t be right," he said, shaking his head in disbelief. "These Gemini younglings are not that rich. Even Martial Will is not that rich, and he is ancient."
To get to the bottom of the issue, he picked one of the avatars on the mountain and asked, "How much is a Life Value Meter really?"
As he asked, he also scanned the avatar’s mind to see its true thoughts.
The avatar smiled and said, "Of course, it is 600 Celestial Gold. That’s what I offered, right?"
"I was not lying. I wouldn’t do such a despicable thing to my great and powerful Mountain Lord," they stated with utmost sincerity.
The avatar was clearly lying. Unfortunately, Loki couldn’t tell what the truth was from the avatar’s mind because it was only a puppet.
The puppet couldn’t think on its own and could only do or say what the true body wanted. The situation was similar to what he was constantly doing with the copy of his mind within the Devouring Supreme Metac.
So what he saw from the avatar’s mind was curated thoughts. This made him snort in frustration, then ignore the lying avatar.
He didn’t give up on finding the truth, though. Since his avatar couldn’t find the truth, he decided to use his true body to find it. So his true body went looking for Gemini to ask about the truth.
While he was looking for Gemini younglings, Black Chain was still brewing trouble in the lower realm.
When the curse was activated, Black Chain sensed it. His avatar in the divine constellation of the Blessed Heaven World, a black monkey, opened its eyes to stare intently at Loki’s avatar.
The black monkey stared like that for a long time, waiting for something. When what he was waiting for didn’t happen, the monkey frowned.
The curses weren’t actually meant to kill the target. At least, not yet.
The curses were supposed to form a link between the target and Black Chain. Black Chain could then freely attack the target through the link regardless of the distance between them.
Of course, he could also find the target through the link. Unfortunately, none of these good things happened. Loki’s avatar looked fine, and he didn’t sense any link forming between them.
He was disappointed, but he didn’t want to give up. Or rather, he couldn’t give up so easily. After losing so much to Loki, he couldn’t let bygones be bygones just like that.
He sent a message to the other Dao Lords, saying, "I know where Ragnarok’s true body is."
Without waiting for their response, he sent the coordinates that he had sensed through the curses to them.
Then he said, "I swear on my Dao Heart and everything I am that I sensed him at that location a few microseconds ago. I also swear on my Dao Heart that this is not a scheme to ambush you, and it is not a trap that I’ve set."
"Ragnarok was also attacked at that location and should be injured, if not dying. You are free to do whatever you want with this information," he said succinctly before cutting off the communication.
It seemed he didn’t care what they would do with the coordinates he gave them, but he cared a lot. He really wanted to urge them to go and kill Loki immediately. But he knew that he couldn’t force them or look too eager. So he decided to take a hands-off approach with that line of attack.
Loki didn’t know his location had been exposed because Black Chain hadn’t included him in the spiritual broadcast stream. But he knew it when Black Chain began the next stage of the attack.
From his position in the divine constellation, he heard Black Chain shout to everyone in the world, saying, "The Olympic Sect is lying to you about the Life Value Meters."
"There was nothing wrong with those Life Value Meters. The Olympic Sect doesn’t want you to know the truth, so they destroyed the evidence of their crime."
Black Chain went on and on, slandering the Olympic Sect. Even without his loud voice booming across heaven and earth, his words were irritating on their own.
"Don’t you have any self-respect?" Loki asked in irritation. "I thought shouting like a street hawker was beneath you. It seems I was wrong."
He was insulting Black Chain, but the Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect didn’t seem to mind and said indifferently, "Only people who have options can afford self-respect."
