Chapter 1213: Intruder Alert.

"The second thing I need from you is an oath never to mention what will happen here to anyone. You must all swear the oath now, or I will kill you."

One moment, he was cheery and persuasive. The next, he was murderous.

When his eyes fell on them with the intent to kill, their knees didn’t buckle, but their mind capitulated immediately. They didn’t hesitate to swear not to tell anyone about what they were about to see.

One by one, they swore the oath. When Loki was satisfied, he said, "The third thing I need is a volunteer. So who wants to be the first volunteer?"

The Rank 8 deceiver who was kneeling and begging for mercy earlier rushed forward immediately to pledge allegiance. He came forward, saying, "I swear in my Dao Heart that as long as you help me become a Rank 9 Dao Initiate and not kill me, I promise to serve you for a thousand years."

The Rank 8 cultivator possessed four Divine Positions, so he possessed four Divine Metacs. These four were working together to produce and maintain his Life Fire. So giving one away meant giving away a part of his life.

But the Rank 8 deceiver didn’t hesitate to switch off one of the Divine Positions and had over the Divine Metacs. While he did so, one of his Divine Positions returned to the divine constellation, and part of his Cave Heaven collapsed, but he didn’t dare to complain.

Just as Loki received the Rank 8 Divine Metac, the multicolored crystal at the center of the World Pump informed him that enemies had arrived.

Through the connection between the World Pump and his mind, he saw a group of people where the World Pump met the glass shield.

There were four of them. Three of them were humanoid trees. The last was a green-feathered bird with two heads, perched on the branch of one of the humanoid trees.

From what he could sense, the two-headed bird was a Rank 9 Dao Initiate. Of the three humanoid trees, one was Rank 7. The remaining two were Rank 6.

Based on their cultivation, he recognized the two-headed bird as Bush Boy. It was either that, or Bush Boy had another Dao Lord of the Transformation Pathway to help him defend his world.

Besides, he was sure it was really Bush Boy, because this Gemini youngling was a known transformer, and the bird was a mechanical construct, no matter how lifelike it looked.

According to the records of the multicolord core, the Will of the World controlled the glass shield and used its fusion with the World Pump to open a passage into it.

This was a vulnerability in the World Pump. Just as the World Pump could exploit the glass shield to gain access to the world, the glass shield could also be manipulated to gain access to the World Pump.

So the connection between the World Pump and the glass shield was a two-way street. What’s more, the defenders of the world can use the access to attack the World Pump.

As long as they can destroy the core of the World Pump, which is the multicolored crystal, they will be able to switch off the World Pump and get back all of the world essence they harvested. This vulnerability is why it is customary to bring a group of people with the World Pump to protect it.

To be fair to the World Pump, not everyone should know these vulnerabilities. At least, if a Gemini had used the World Pump on the Blessed Heaven World, it would be difficult for the defenders to know what to do and execute it immediately.

So a response this quick would have been surprising if it came from the ignorant dragons of Oceania, who had no connection to the upper realm and no way to get information about Gemini super weapons from other Gemini. But Loki couldn’t be surprised that the Bush Boy had reacted so quickly.

Loki also didn’t need to think twice to know that the goal of the people Bush Boy brought with him would be to come directly to the core of the World Pump and destroy it. So he didn’t try to talk Bush Boy out of a fight and immediately deployed defenses.

First, he spent a few nanoseconds thinking of a plan. Then he controlled the World Pump’s core to create walls that divided its interior into a single spiral hallway.
