Chapter 1279: Race And Color.

Intrigued, Loki asked. “Is one side stronger than the other? It seems world killers are stronger here, but in our current world, rank 5 cultivators are usually weaker than world kings.”

“In general, the strength of world guardians is fixed and based on the size of the world. So world guardians of a super world would be stronger than world guardians of a large world, and so on, with world guardians of small worlds being the weakest.”

“On the other hand, world killers were barely equal in power to the world guardians of small worlds. But their power wasn’t fixed, and they could grow until they became strong enough to rival the world guardians of super worlds.”

“All in all, their abilities were similar. Divine Palace cultivators could finally control external elements. I mean, they could finally bend external elements that they didn’t create to their will. So they could use the fire from a candle to attack.”

“Divine Palace cultivators also create cultivation techniques with the laws they comprehended. With their cultivation techniques, weaker cultivators could follow their footsteps from Foundation Establishment to Nascent Soul.”

“Their ability to create cultivation techniques made sects established by Divine Palace cultivators more respected. Sects created by Golden Core cultivators were called false sects, while those created by Divine Palace cultivators were called true sects.”

At this point, she chuckled and said, “I heard that the elementals used to monopolize the position of world guardians.”

“Do you mean the Heavenly and Earthly treasures that survived and matured without being assimilated by ancient cultivators?” Loki asked, suddenly realizing the path of ancient cultivation was built on the lives of the world’s children.

Nodding her head and chuckling some more, “When elementals matured at Rank 4 or the Golden Core cultivation stage, they usually become Divine Palace cultivators automatically.”

“The Will of the world usually picked them since elementals are basically their children. Then when they advance to Rank 6, those elementals become Dragons.”

“I’m not surprised, actually. After all, that’s basically how Dragons are created nowadays,” he said, clicking his tongue.

Then he asked, “Did the Will of the World care that they were killing its children?”

What he truly wanted to know was how Divine Palace cultivators became divine beings without Divine Metacs. He had learned a lot about the ancient cultivation system so far, but he truly wanted to know how divine beings and Dao Lords were created.

However, he couldn’t ask her directly, for fear she’d play tricks or catch on to what he intended. Anyway, he couldn’t expose his motive, so instead of rushing to the important bits, he asked other questions to distract her and throw her off the scent of what truly mattered to him.

Unaware that he held any importance to the workings of the ancient cultivation system, Heavenly Eye said, “The Will of the World didn’t care about things like that. After all, nearly everyone in the world is a child of the world in one way or another.”

“That’s true,” Loki said, nodding. “Elements evolve over time across multiple generations into creatures of flesh and blood and give birth to the plants and animals that lack the talents of their ancestors but can live much longer than elementals.

“Exactly. The Will of the World didn’t care,” she said in agreement. “To the Will of the World, both elemental and ancient cultivators were her children, and both were guardians, protecting the world. So there was no need to be angry about how ancient cultivators came to possess their cultivation.”

“Of course, if it came time to choose between an elemental and a Nascent Soul cultivator, the Will of the world would always pick the elemental.”

“Who could blame it? The original is better than the copy,” Loki said, chuckling.

“I would do the same thing, which was why the elementals and dragons thought themselves superior to the ancient cultivators, which wasn’t a lie by any means,” Heavenly Eye said, nodding.

“Take a human, for instance; for most of their population, Rank 3 and Golden Core is the limit of their cultivation because of their poor talent. But for elementals, they were born at Rank 3, mature at Rank 4, and are promptly transformed into world guardians as soon as the resources become available.”

“The preference of the Will of the World meant that more elementals were becoming world guardians and world kings far more than normal ancient cultivators. The disparity of power gave elementals the ability to act on their racial discrimination and extend it to genocide once in a while.”

“Genocide?” Loki asked in surprise. “Why do they have to do that? Why can’t they just focus on their cultivation? I would expect cultivators to think beyond race and color.”

“The genocide had something to do with how to advance to Rank 6. In those days, Rank 6, Rank 7, and Rank 8 were all part of the Divine Transformation stage.”

“To advance to the Divine Transformation stage, a world guardian cultivator needed to pull down a Divine Authority into their Divine Palace. We call that a Divine Position nowadays.”

When he heard her last statement, Loki thought inwardly, ‘Damn it.”

Heavenly Eye didn’t notice that he was distraught and continued to say, “Back then, with ample spiritual energy, Divine Authority wasn’t rare. Any world guardian could create a Divine Authority by creating a special cultivation technique and spreading it through the population.”

“If the cultivation technique was of sufficient quality and once enough people were cultivating it, the will of the world would be prompted to create the Divine Authority for it. Then any world guardian using that cultivation technique could summon the Divine Authority and become Divine Transformation cultivators.”

“The Domain Power of world guardians was also based on how large the population of people using the cultivation technique was. The higher the proportion of living beings in the world were using a cultivation technique, the stronger the Domain Power of the Authority became.”
