Chapter 1318: From The Top.

He was scheming for the third attack, which was the same one that Wandering Thief wanted to prevent. Thus, the two of them stood opposite each other like cowboys in the wild west about to draw their guns and duel to the death.

“Ragnarok. Let’s be honest. You don’t like me and are already preparing to attack me,” Wandering Thief said solemnly.

Wandering Thief was taking the matter seriously, but Loki’s attitude was the complete opposite. Loki laughed and said, “Now why would you think so? What could make me want to attack and kill you?”

In response, Wandering Thief sighed and said, “Let’s be honest with each other, as that’s the only way we can come to a clean resolution.”

“What do you mean?” Lolo asked, determined to play dumb.

“I know that you can curse people and attack them indirectly with your Devouring Ability. I also suspect that you’re a time traveler,” Wandering Thief said, answering his question.

“The last time you attacked me, it was because I refused to share our Power Pack cultivation system with you. What if I give it up in exchange for peace?”

“What are you talking about?” Loki asked, confused.

“What curse? What time traveling? What Power Pack cultivation system? Are you just making up things to annoy me?”

“Fine. You’re not the one responsible for the attack,” Wandering Thief said, smiling. “So you won’t mind swearing an oath to prove it.”

“I don’t have to swear anything to you,” Ragnarok said with a sneer. “You have no power over me.”

“You are right. I have no power over you,” Wandering Thief said, nodding. “So let me try the carrot and the stick approach.”

“For the carrot, if you swear that you have nothing to do with the attack, my disciples and I will swear to help you become a Domain King.”

“We will join your Divine Court and follow your orders from now on. We will help you compete with other Divine Courts and fight other Mountain Lords.”

“Then we will help you monitor the lower realm and the super worlds, preventing other Dao Lords from expanding their Domains. Lastly, we invade worlds to help you establish your Domains on them.”

“As for the stick, if you refuse to swear the oath, we will tell everyone that your hidden pathway is the Time Pathway. Then we will tell them that you can attack anyone with a curse through their disciples.”

“Lastly, we will find ways to destroy your Divine Court while helping super worlds to ascend. If they succeed in ascending, they become direct competitors to your Olympic Court, and you lose your Domain Power. If they fail, you still lose your Domain Power.”

Smiling, Wandering Thief said, “I’m sure you already know how bad it is to lose one’s Domain Power. But I bet you don’t know how it feels to be usurped.”

“But you have nothing to worry about. When you lose all of your Domains and have a Domain Power of 0, even the weakest Gemini youngling in your Divine Court can replace you.”

“Are you done with the threats?” Loki asked, unruffled.

“I am done, for now,” came the reply.

So Loki said, “Let’s start from the top. What is this Power Pack cultivation system?”

In response, Wandering Thief rolled his eyes and said, “Don’t play dumb with me, Loki. I may not be a genius like you, but I am much smarter than that.”

“Are you going to answer my question or not?” Loki asked, frowning.

Wandering Thief stared at him for a while. Then he said, “Fine. Beggers can’t be choosers, I guess. So it is my fault.”

“The Power Pack cultivation system is an alternative cultivation system we created to compete with the Root of Life. We hoped it would be better than the Core Metac competition system or at least help us extract lifespan from mortals, but it fell flat on both objectives.”

“The result was an expensive cultivation system that produced no lifespan and no Life Fire. I told you about it last time before time was reversed, and you helped us with some suggestions. Then you attacked us.”

“I want specifics,” Loki said, growling. “Tell me how this Power Pack cultivation system works.”

Wandering Thief rolled his eyes and said sarcastically, “I admire your dedication to the charade.”

But he still went on to explain the Power Pack cultivation system. He started with the Rank 1 version and ended at the Rank 9 version, created by fusing Ranks 1 through 8.

When he was done, Loki said, “You are saying you told me about this before you reversed time. Does that mean you or someone you know possesses the Time Pathway?”

“Yes,” Wandering Thief said, sighing.

“And you said I attacked you as soon as you told me about this?”

“Yes, you did,” Wandering Thief nodded and said.

“Did I finish the attack before whoever it was reversed time? I mean, did I kill you before time was reversed?”

Wandering Thief frowned as he asked, “What does this have to do with anything?”

“Just answer the questions. How hard is it for you to answer some yes-or-no questions? I thought you said you were smart,” Loki said, irritated.

“No, you didn’t kill me before time was reversed,” Wandering Thief said, exasperated.

“Hmmm. I see,” Loki said as he mulled over the information.

Then he asked more questions, saying, “Why didn’t you wait until you died before you reversed time? Does that mean you’re the one with the Time Pathway?”

“I am not the one with the Time Pathway.”

“If you’re not the one with the Time Pathway, who is? Is it one of your disciples? Is one of your disciples that Time Traveler, your brother?”

“Does it matter who has the Time Pathway?” Wandering Thief asked.

“Why didn’t the one with the Time Pathway wait until you died before reversing time?”

“Because your curse was about to kill him,” Wandering Thief replied, raising his voice in frustration.
