Chapter 899: Freezing The River.

Of course, he was sure that he was special and worthy of the attention of Dao Lords. But compared to a fallen Dao Lord like Time Traveler or Golden Sun, he was certain that he was not yet a threat to the rule of the Dao Lords. Therefore, he believed that it was more plausible that the Dao Lords came to finish what they started with Time Traveler, not to kill some rank 9 upstart.

"I’m sure they will try to kill me or capture me if they know that I have broken through to rank 9. But until then, I should be beneath their attention."

Then he thought about the golden mountain and how it had tried to stop him from escaping. This caused his face to darken.

"What’s up with that mountain anyway? Why is it so peculiar? If I didn’t know better, I could believe that I didn’t own it and was just borrowing it."

"Anyway, the golden mountain is gone now. It has been eaten and digested. What’s left is something I can control easily."

Before he gained the Divine Spark, he would have needed to leave the River of Time before he could digest the things he devoured. That has stopped being the case ever since he became the Rewind Metac by adding it to the spark of power.

Because of this, he could still control his journey through the River of Time well. So he could determine where to stop instead of waiting to reach the limit, which is the point he awakened.

After thinking about what to do, he decided to travel to a point in time that was close to the period he just escaped from. It was so that he could meet Time Traveler again and see if he could fuse more than one of the same Supreme Metac into the spark of power.

With his mind made up, he dropped out of the River of Time into a point in time that was six minutes ago. This was the period before he started fighting Time Traveler.

He had only just entered Time Traveler’s Cave Heaven at this point in time. The two of them were still negotiating.

Loki just said, "What if I swear not to tell anyone about you and give you a lot of world essence for the information? Will that be enough?"

After he asked this question, he wanted to use the Power Identification Ability on Time Traveler to make sure that there were no changes he should know about.

But before he could activate the Power Identification Ability, a version of himself from the future came down from the River of Time.

On the other side, Time Traveler was considering his proposal. But the fallen Dao Lord stopped thinking about that when he sensed a sudden increase in the activity of the River of Time.

Time Traveler looked up and saw the River of Time. He saw that it had appeared and that something was coming down from it.

Then his eyes glinted sharply as he said, "Not on my watch."

As soon as he said this, he activated the Time Stasis Metac on the opening in the River of Time. The Time Stasis Metac froze the tributary of the River of Time, which effectively blocked the way for whatever was coming down the River of Time.

He didn’t know what was coming, but he knew without a doubt that it had nothing to do with him, so he had no intention of letting it come through. Especially since he was currently in a standoff with a suspicious dragon.

After he blocked the River of Time, he glanced at the dragon and waited for its reaction. After all, odds are that whatever just happened with the River of Time was related to this dragon.

He didn’t believe that it was a coincidence that the dragon would find his Cave Heaven and then something tried to come out of the River of Time as soon as the dragon gained access to his Cave Heaven.

However, no matter how long he waited for a reaction, he didn’t get one from the dragon. It seemed the dragon didn’t notice what had happened. He wasn’t sure if the dragon was truly clueless or was pretending to be ignorant.

But Loki was truly ignorant of what had happened. He didn’t have the Time Supreme Metac, wasn’t a Dao Lord with all-seeing eyes, and this wasn’t his Cave Heaven, so he didn’t notice what had happened in the River of Time.

Even if he did, he was unlikely to be able to stop Time Traveler. He was stronger than Time Traveler, but he had no understanding of the Time Path and didn’t possess the necessary tools to affect the River of Time.

So after a long time of waiting, what he said to Time Traveler was, "Are you going to answer me or not?"

He spoke with a hint of impatience. Because of this, Time Traveler had to let go of his suspicion that he was up to something.

Meanwhile, Loki was cursing in the River of Time.

"That damn Time Traveler. He is so troublesome."

He had an understanding of the Time Path on par with that of Time Traveler’s and possessed the tools needed to stop Time Traveler from interfering with his trip in the River of Time. This was why he believed he could return to this point in time.

But reality slapped him when he actually went up against Time Traveler. He was quick to realize that he didn’t have enough power in his current state to compete with Time Traveler.

He didn’t have a Cave Heaven and the amplification from law fragments, so he couldn’t compete with Time Traveler in terms of raw power. The only thing he could do was prevent Time Traveler from capturing him or killing him.
