Chapter 989: Competition For The Domain.

’Besides, what benefits are there for lying to me? Why would she lie to me about this?’ Carefree Immortal asked himself.

As soon as he asked this question, he realized something that made his eyes shift with suspicion.

’Come to think of it, she is a perpetual liar. She would always default to lying if she could get away with it. She doesn’t need a good reason to lie, so nothing she says out of that deceitful mouth of hers should be believed.’

With this possibility going through his mind, he glanced at Tepid Scholar, who was focusing on the world below, and thought to himself, ’If she were lying, though, Tepid Scholar and Martial Will should have said something. Those two haven’t said anything to expose her, so either they are in cahoots with her, or there is nothing for them to expose?’

While he was thinking and considering many possibilities, someone else asked a question, saying, "I wonder how powerful Black Chains has become now?"

The question snapped him out of his inner thoughts and made him turn to the source of the voice. As he turned, he said that it was Green Fire who asked that question.

He had turned just in time to hear her say, "Can he use the Divine Spark of the Blessed Heaven World to pay off his debt of Entropy now, or does he need to wait for the world to ascend?"

But Immobile Mountain shook his head and said, "Forget about how powerful he is now. We should wonder how powerful he will become when the Blessed Heaven World ascends. I think that’s more important for us and the future of the Sea of Worlds."

Hearing this, Green Fire nodded in agreement and said, "That’s true. With the will of the Blessed Heaven World already in his grasp, when the world ascends and turns into a Divine Tower, he will be able to control the Divine Tower directly. Doesn’t that mean he is set to become the Domain King of the Sea of Worlds?"

With something interesting finally being discussed, Martial Will finally joined the conversation. He started by shaking his head and saying, "It is not that easy. I don’t know the full requirements for anyone to become the Domain King, but I know that controlling a Divine Tower is only one of them and that he will still have to compete with others in control of a Divine Tower."

This topic of conversation was so interesting that Tepid Scholar also joined in, saying, "That’s true. His control of the Blessed Heaven World only means that none of us in the Blessed Heaven World can compete with him for control of the Divine Mountain after it is created. As long as you fellows succeed in raising your super worlds, you will be able to compete with him."

But Green Fire shook her head and said, "You make it sound easy. We may be able to contend with him, but we will definitely lose."

Immobile Mountain also said, "If he can enslave a super world with a Divine Spark while only using one avatar, who can he not enslave in the Sea of Worlds with the power of his true body? So yes, we will lose."

When he heard their words, Tepid Scholar wanted to say, "Things aren’t that bad, yet. You’re worrying too much."

But he didn’t want to expose Heavenly Eye, offending her and making it difficult to employ her services to convince the dragon to sell the Forging Supreme Metac to him, so he decided to change his words.

He said, "You make good points. But all hope is not lost yet. We will help to advance more large worlds into super worlds. Then we will help those super worlds compete with him. With all seven of us working together, we should be able to barely restrain him."

Green Fire still wasn’t convinced by his proposal, but she could only say, "If you say so. It is not as if we have any other choice."

"Yes, we do," Immobile Mountain said.

Without waiting for anyone to ask him what he meant, he explained, saying, "I think now is the time to band together and attack him. Not only do I think this is the only time we can bring him down before he gets too powerful, but I think now is the best time to bring him down because his act of enslaving an entire super world should have cost him a lot of Entropy and put him at his weakest."

"If we band together now, we will surely bring him down. At most, one or two of us would lose an avatar and a pathway. But I think it is worth the sacrifice to nip him in the bud before he takes root and becomes too difficult to deal with."

"He might not be willing to take action knowing that it is a trap. But once he sees that a new Dao Lord is about to be created, he will have to take action to stop it. Then we can gang up on him."

Nodding his head in agreement, Martial Will said, "That’s a good plan. But we have to make some changes to it."

With a serious expression, he said, "For one, we must pick someone outside of the Four Directions Sect to support. That way, Black Chains won’t be able to easily render them useless through his sect mark and enslave them. Or that would just be a waste of our time."

When Green Fire heard this, she frowned and said, "That’s a good idea. But whose sect and pathway will we use?"
