Chapter 498: Demonic monster...but its cute

Kai and Valera rushed out of the base to see the rest of their team leaving with multiple women running behind them. From their appearance, it was obvious that they were taken advantage of, beaten, and starved.

The anger on the faces, even in this situation, was all that was needed to understand how they felt. Their will was never broken, and they always planned on getting revenge.

Now that they were free, they would seek just that after recovering.

"What’s going on?" Valera asked, regrouping with the team.

"We managed to find a dungeon where these women had been captured and rescued them while taking out some men on the way there. Unfortunately, there was a creature guarding the dungeon, and it attacked us."

"Where’s the creature now?" Kai asked, looking around to see any monsters.

"It should be right behind us. There! It’s right there!"

Coming out of the smoke was a small, Chihuahua-looking creature with purple fur and black, patterned designs. The dog trotted toward the group, wagging its tail, and was panting happily.

"Fuck man. I’m not a dog person, but that thing is so freaking cute." Kai wanted to pet the little, cute creature

"Don’t let it fool you! That monster is a beast!"

"Oh come on, it can’t be that bad." Kai ran over to the dog and started petting its head. The dog seemed to love the scratches and leaned in to get some more.

It then started rolling over to get its belly scratched, which Kai happily obliged and scratched its belly.

"Are you sure that dog is a monster?" Valera asked

"Yes! I-I don’t understand why it’s acting this way right now."

"Maybe it likes Kai?"

"That could be the case."

"Haha! Fetch!" Kai threw an earth stick far away, and the dog took off, catching the rock stick and giving it back to Kai.

"Haha! Guys! Guys, look!" Kai turned around. "This dog isn’t a threat at all! It’s just a massive cutie!"

With his back turned, the dog’s playful demeanor changed, and it started to growl while demonic energy rose from its body.

"Uhh, Kai."

"Yeah, what’s up?"

"You should turn around."

He turned, noticing that the small, cute dog was no longer small and cute. It was ginormous...and still cute.

"Aww! It’s even cuter no—" He was eaten.

"Oh shit!"

"Damn. I was not expecting that."

"The empress is going to be angry."

Just then, the dog whimpered, fell on its side, and its belly was cut open.

"Listen to me, everyone. Do not get swallowed by a demonic dog. It’s not a good expierence." Kai cleaned himself and started walking in the direction of the castle.

"Should we destroy this place, Captain?"

"No need. We already have what we came here for. We can’t jeopardize the rest of the mission."

"Understood."

"I can blow it up. Check it. Boom!" He shouted, and the base erupted in a blazing glory, killing everyone inside.

"This guy is actually crazy, what the hell."

"So much for this being a stealth mission."

"Man, this is fun. We should do this more often." Kai grabbed all of them and teleported back to the palace.

"I won’t tell you anything!" The leader of the brotherhood branch shouted as he was tied up.

His face was puffed up from injuries, blood running down his nose and out of his mouth. His legs were broken, and most importantly, his dick was...gone.

Kai was happy that he could regenerate evrey single piece of his body. He was not trying to be castrated like this guy.

"Hmph. You aren’t in a position to decline the grace I’m giving you." Telia said with venom in her words.

The man looked at her with an angry expression. "Grace?! Look how you have me! This isn’t grace at all!"

"Would you rather be dead?" Kai aksed

The man was silent. But then, something else got to him. "You! You should be with us! That power you have! Why are you working for those whores?!"

"What can I say? I’m a simp. I see a pretty woman, and I just want to do whatever they tell me. How do you think I ended up with 36 kids?"

Telia turned to Kai with a shocked expression. "You have 36 kids?"

"Yeah. All girls, too."

"Pwahaha! All girls? That’s actually great. They will be welcomed here with open arms."

"Thanks. I’ll take them here on vacation one day."

"Whore." The man shouted.

Kai looked at the guy, then punched a hole in his chest.

"Dammit. I can’t have you die yet." He healed him. "Don’t say bullshit, that would annoy me. I might end up killing you."

That was enough to make the guy speak

"I’ll talk! I swear! I’ll talk! J-Just don’t do that again!"

Telia nodded, thanking Kai. "Tell me. What are you doing in these parts?"

"W-We’re gathering information about your trading routes, information networks, and spying on the capital to see what you’re up to."

"Why?" Telia demanded to know

"An invasion!" He shouted. "We’re planning on invading the capital soon, so we need to know how to infiltrate it to destabilize the kingdom. That’s all I know, I swear!"

Telia started to think about ways to bump up security, but Kai kicked the man in the face.

"You’re lying. You know more information."

"I-I promise that I don’t! I’m telling the truth!"

"Really? Because I can read minds, and I clearly see that you’re thinking about the spies you have in the kingdom."

His face turned white. "I-I don’t know what you’re—"

Kai beheaded the man, not wasting any more time.

"Kai."

"Yeah?"

"You could have read his mind this whole time?"

"Yeah? Why?"

"What do you mean by ’why?’ You could have just told me this information without us needing to torture him for hours!"

He nodded. "That’s true, but that’s no fun. It’s cheating. Besides, I don’t like reading people’s minds; it’s annoying."

"You’re unbelievable."

"Actually, I think I’m pretty believable. How else would you believe that I’m telling the truth?"

"Shut up."

"My bad."
