Chapter 543: Level 2 - Some gods here and there
Chapter 543: Level 2 - Some gods here and there
Level two was completely different from level one. Aesthetically, they looked the same since it was the same kingdom, but the divine activity was completely different. Kai could not only see, but sense the gods moving around this part of the kingdom, doing Leo knows what.
At first, he thought they were bored and were just roaming around to entertain themselves somehow, but when he sensed the presence of mortals running for their lives, he understood what they were doing.
"Ahh, so they’re this type of losers, huh?" Kai understood gods looking down on mortals since he was one himself, a god. However, he never liked them doing it for fun.
He could understand if they wanted things to go their way, like using hypnosis or something, but to torment mortals just because never really sat with him.
So, he split off into multiple versions of himself and flew in multiple directions.
"N-No more! Please! No more!" A man was running for his life, his face pale, sweat pouring down his face, and his limbs nearly shutting down from exhaustion.
He turned the corner, where he found himself in an alley that was partly destroyed from the initial attack the gods had done days prior, and hid himself between some rubble, hoping that the person following him wouldn’t find him here.
To further help himself, he made it look like he ran in a different direction using the last bit of mana he had before curling up into a ball and remaining silent.
The anticipation nearly killed the man. His heart could stop beating, his sweat couldn’t stop dripping, and his eyes stayed huge when he heard footsteps walk past.
"Tch, that mortal bastard actually tricked me. I’ll kill him for real when I see him again." The god then left.
The amount of relief the man felt upon hearing the god leave was so good that he wanted to cry. He was finally able to close his eyes and get some rest.
When he opened them again after his long sigh of relief, he saw the god staring at him, which nearly made his heart jump out of his chest.
"Did you seriously think I wouldn’t have been able to find where you were? You are one stupid mortal."
"P-Please! Why are you doing this? I have a family!"
"That’s too bad. You should have been stronger. The chase was fun, but you can die now."
"Stop!" Kai shouted.
"Huh?" The god turned around to see Kai walking toward him and frowned.
"Look, man, this mortal is my prey. Go find another mortal to hunt."
Kai smirked. "Who said that the human is my prey?"
"What?" The god started floating against his will, then flew into Kai’s grasp.
"Aekkkk! W-What’s going on? Why are you attacking me?!"
"It seems that you don’t realize who I am, huh? You sure you don’t see the resemblance?"
It took a minute, but the god finally recognized who Kai was, and once he did, he was terrified.
He was told that Kai was extremely powerful, but he didn’t expect him to be so powerful that he couldn’t break out of his grasp.
"W-Why don’t we start over, huh?"
"Sure, you can start your life over after you die."
"W-Wait! That’s not what I—" Crack
Kai had snapped the god’s neck, dropping him onto the ground, and stared at his lifeless body.
"You can come out now." He said to the mortal
"P-Please don’t kill me."
"I won’t. Torrigan sent me to help."
"Really?" The man stepped out, and he looked to be a hybrid between a demon and a human.
"Yeah, don’t worry. Are you mad?"
"H-Huh?"
"Are you mad? Like, angry? Pissed off that this god was chasing you and playing with you like a toy?"
The man didn’t respond right away, but he nodded slowly.
"Kick his corpse."
"What?"
"Stop fucking questioning me, bitch! Kick his fucking corpse!"
The man perked up straight, looked down, then got extremely pissed off.
He slowly walked over to the corpse of the god and kicked it. Then he kicked it again. Then again, and again, and again, and again. He started kicking the corpse as if his life depended on it. That’s how angry he was.
"It’s all your fault, you fucking bastard! You chase me around like a cat, forcing me to run around with injuries, and you toyed with me for your stupid pleasure! This is what you get! Motherfucker!"
Kai smiled. He knew that the man would feel better after that, especially knowing that this little game was now over and he could rest.
"Good job. Now here’s your reward." Kai sent him to the pocket dimension.
"Being nice is really fun sometimes. The validation is great!" This clone of Kai disappeared and returned to his original body.
All over the second level, Kai had saved hundreds of people, killing hundreds of gods in the process, and sending those hundreds of people to the pocket dimension.
Now, with all of his clones serving their purpose, Kai headed over to the last place where he sensed human activity.
He stood in front of a large building, an adventurer’s guild, he assumed, looking at the half-broken signboard.
Walking inside, he looked around and saw a bunch of gods just chilling, talking to one another, drinking some beer, and having a good time.
Women of all races, mortal or demon, were naked, either serving the gods or getting fucked by them.
It was obvious that they didn’t wish to be in that position, and the dead looks on their faces made him slightly angry.
As for the mortal or demon men, they were in the same boat, being used by the goddesses or being used as stools and foot props for the men.
One man was even used as a board for darts, his dead body hanging on a wall while many knives were lodged into his chest. Gods were still using his body as a target as well.
When everyone noticed Kai, he didn’t make a scene and walked over to the front desk, where a goddess was talking to a god about something.
Kai slammed his adventurer’s license on the table and looked at her. "Hey, got any requests you need to take care of?"
