Chapter 545: The beginnings of the new era
Chapter 545: The beginnings of the new era
All of the gods looked at Kai with confusion and then a bit of fear. They all had pledged their loyalty to Aion, so doing the same thing to his little brother felt weird. It wasn’t because they didn’t want to, but it was because Aion clearly lied to all of them about Kai’s power had they didn’t know if Kai was the same as him.
"It doesn’t look like your knees are locked in place, because even with broken knees, one would be lower than my waist." Kai was basically telling them that if they didn’t kneel, he would break their knees.
A few gods understood the message right away and knelt. They had seen what he did to the demigods and what he did during their prior fight, and they didn’t wish to get hurt or killed.
"Good. I recognize you lot who kneeled. As for the rest." Kai swiped his hand and killed every last one of them.
Out of the thousand gods, only 10 remained. 11 if you count the woman from earlier.
"Too bad those demigods weren’t as smart as you ten. Oh well. Take them away. And in Divinity City, I want you to add a section where people would represent me. These gods will be those people and will help me with the new era I will usher in."
Kai was speaking to his father, and Leo listened. He didn’t mind helping Kai with tasks like these, but he was going to stay out of his actual fight against Aion.
"Now, time to move on to the next section." Kai stretched, then got up to leave.
"U-Um, excuse me?"
"Oh shit!" He had nearly forgotten about the people here whom he was trying to save.
"Don’t worry, I’ll send you all to a safe space." Kai snapped his fingers, clothing everyone, healing them all if they had any injuries, and teleported them to the pocket dimension.
"Now that I’m thinking about it. I just hired a bunch of bastards, didn’t I? Fuck! Leo, kill them all! We don’t need them."
’Make up your mind, dude.’ Leo did as Kai asked and killed all of them.
"Shut up, pussy."
---
"It’s amazing seeing how strong he’s gotten in such a short amount of time. Only if he were born at the time when he was supposed to. Fucking bastard of a father." Aion cursed, watching Kai head to the next section of the continent.
"Lord Aion, why are you having him go through this trial? Shouldn’t you just deal with him right away?" A goddess asked, sitting on Aion’s lap
"You may think that, but Kai is actually very strong. Although I’m powerful, this is still a clone, and this clone is only at the level of a Titan, so I’m significantly nerfed right now."
"Ahh, you’re tiring him out!"
"Precisely. However, the first two stages didn’t go as planned. It seems I have underestimated my brother. But it’s okay, the third stage is significantly harder than the last."
"Why do you even want to kill your younger brother? Wouldn’t it be better to bring him to your side?"
"Good question. The answer is simple: I need his body. Father nurtured Kai’s divine essence ever since the day he was born. He was made to be my father’s successor. While all of his primordial kids carry his spark, none of them carry his power, except for Kai. The kid doesn’t even know that, either, the truth of his existence. He’s basically my father’s clone in terms of existence."
"What?! B-But the progenitors’ power can’t be copied."
"I know. While Kai was conceived the natural way, just like all of us, my father manipulated his conception to mimic the way he was born. To put it simply, my father IS the universe, and everything there is. Just as planets have wills, so does the universe, and that Will is my father. Kai is also the universe’s Will, one born from the first will. This is why his potential is so high, and why I need his body."
"Because when you get his body, you get his power!"
Aion smiled and gripped the woman’s ass. "Exactly! You’re listening well."
"Thank you, Lord Aion. I live to serve you!"
"Good, good." He snapped the woman’s neck, then erased her from existence.
"Now that you know that much, I can’t allow you to live. Blame yourself for asking too many questions."
Aion went back to watching Kai with a grin on his face. He knew his little brother wouldn’t be pressed by the Titans and was anticipating their confrontation.
"Don’t disappoint me, brother. The future of the universe rests on your shoulders, so fight with your life on the line, fight for your family, and fight for me."
---
Kai was immediately confronted by multiple Titans upon entering their territory. They stopped him from venturing too far and surrounded him in an attempt to scare the young titan off before killing him.
"Got any business here, little guy?" One Tall titan asked
"Ha, I guess you live up to your name." Kai was 6’5, and he had to look up at this guy. He was a real giant.
"If you’re looking for the mortals, they’re all dead. Unfortunately, you were too late. We ended up breaking them after a bit of fun. Mortals are so fragile."
The Titan said this to get underneath Kai’s skin, but in truth, Kai didn’t care. The only thing that sucked was the beautiful women whom he could have had sex with, but other than that, he didn’t care about them.
He was going to help Torrigan because she’s a friend, but there was no need to cry over the fallen, especially when he didn’t know them one bit.
"So, all of you swore loyalty to Aion, right?" Kai looked at all of the Titans here, and honestly, he wasn’t impressed.
Sure, they were powerful, powerful enough to actually harm him, but he wasn’t worried. After all, he was the son of Leo, the great bastard who pushed all of his responsibilities on his son. There was no way he could lose.
"That’s right. What of it?"
He smirked. "You’re gonna wish you had sworn your loyalty to me." He took out his weapons and attacked all of them.
