Chapter 680: Reunited with Elina

Chapter 680: Reunited with Elina

Plop!

The horse fell onto the sand, then quickly got back up and galloped forward again.

Erkan and his soldiers were stunned and hurriedly halted in their tracks.

"Damn..." Erkan gritted his teeth, glaring at Nolan and Seira as they rode away, before shifting his attention to the giant monster ahead. "A sand golem... didn’t expect to run into one here."

Sand golems were city-level monsters with incredible durability and strength.

Their massive size let them easily sweep away anything in their path.

"Thousand Faces, can you help us take it down? At the very least, distract it!" Erkan shouted.

Thousand Faces nodded. He clasped his hands together, and a five-meter-wide fireball formed above his head.

Whoosh!

He hurled it at the sand golem, and the fireball exploded on impact.

ARGHH!

The monster roared loudly as its body was flung backward and crashed to the ground. Shockwaves spread as far as five hundred meters.

Taking advantage of the brief distraction, Erkan immediately led his soldiers forward toward the direction Nolan had gone.

***

"Almost there!" Elina muttered through clenched teeth.

Her face was completely exhausted, but her eyes still burned with determination.

She could feel her brother was in danger, and she had to save him no matter what.

"Brother, just hold on a little longer!"

She prayed silently and picked up her pace.

Cling!

Something inside her heart suddenly rang out, like a bell being struck.

Her eyes widened, and her breathing turned heavy.

"That... my brother is close?"

Her bond with Nolan was more than that of ordinary siblings. They were twins, and their souls were directly connected.

It could be said she could sense her brother’s presence within a five-hundred-meter radius.

And just now, that sensation had appeared—a sign that he was near.

Sure enough, not long after, in the distance, she saw a small figure moving rapidly toward them.

Second by second, the figure became clearer.

It was a horse carrying two people, a man and a woman.

"Brother Nolan!" Elina’s eyes sparkled like stars.

Her exhaustion vanished in an instant, replaced by overwhelming joy.

Meanwhile, when Nolan spotted the group of soldiers in the distance, he let out a relieved sigh and smiled.

"They’ve finally arrived," he whispered.

With this, his plan had succeeded perfectly.

"N-Nolan, who are they? Could they be enemies?" Seira asked anxiously.

Nolan turned to her and gently patted her thigh.

"It’s Elina and the troops from the eastern region. We’re safe."

Seira was stunned. She narrowed her eyes, surprised to see the woman leading the group.

"It really is Elina!"

A sigh of relief escaped her lips. She didn’t know how Elina had managed to get here and suspected it must have been Nolan’s doing.

But that didn’t matter. What mattered most was that they were safe.

As the two drew closer to the soldiers, Nolan slowed his horse and stopped right in front of them.

"Brother!"

Elina hurriedly dismounted and ran toward him.

Nolan also dismounted and opened his arms wide.

Elina jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly.

"Why are you so stupid!? You never change!" she scolded him, sobbing.

When she received the letter from her brother, she felt as if the sky were about to collapse.

Her brother, usually lazy and laid-back, had somehow provoked the Ancient Kingdom of Eron. At first, she thought he was joking.

Who would have thought it was real?

Luckily, she acted quickly and asked Duke Austin for help, who immediately agreed to bring tens of thousands of soldiers and deploy their warships.

Otherwise, she didn’t know what would happen to her brother later.

Hiding in her shadow, Malverna rolled her eyes and sneered inwardly, ’Your brother is the Singularity of Chaos. Why are you worried? On the contrary, it’s the royal family who should be worried, since they could be destroyed at any moment by that madman!’

However, she didn’t dare say it outright and chose to remain silent.

"I’m sorry." Nolan feigned helplessness. "I had no choice but to offend the royal family to save your older sister."

Elina pursed her lips in annoyance, but she didn’t say anything.

She knew him very well. Despite his aloof and indifferent demeanor, Nolan was deeply caring, especially toward those he considered close or family.

After hugging him to her heart’s content, Elina reluctantly let go.

She turned toward Seira and walked over to her with concern.

"Sister Seira."

She hugged her tightly, and Seira returned the embrace.

"You’re okay, right? Did the royal family hurt you?"

Seira smiled and gently brushed Elina’s hair aside.

"Thanks for your concern, but I’m fine. Don’t worry."

Elina nodded weakly and released her embrace. She looked at Nolan and Seira seriously and said, "Brother, Sister, where are the enemy troops chasing you?"

Seira was startled. She didn’t understand how Elina could know. Only Nolan remained calm, occasionally glancing at the black shadow behind Elina.

"They’ll be here soon," Nolan replied casually, turning his head back.

Shortly after he said that, a long black shadow appeared in the distance. Upon closer inspection, it was a massive number of soldiers.

Darius, the burly man who had served as Elina’s assistant during the journey, narrowed his eyes warily.

He pulled on his reins and rode closer to Nolan, Elina, and Seira.

"Your Highness, the enemy is approaching. What are your orders?" he asked.

Elina took a deep breath and raised her right hand.

"Don’t move yet. I will negotiate with them."

If possible, she wanted to avoid bloodshed. But if that wasn’t possible, she wouldn’t hesitate to start a war.

Darius had no objection and returned to his position.

"Brother, Sister Seira, wait a moment. Let me handle this."

However, Nolan shook his head and refused.

"I’m coming with you. There’s something I want to say to their leader."

Elina hesitated for a moment before nodding and returning to her horse.

"Wait here."

Nolan patted Seira on the shoulder, then mounted his horse as well.

Seira said nothing and walked toward the ranks of soldiers behind them.

Meanwhile, Erkan immediately halted his horse and raised his left hand.

Ten thousand soldiers stopped in unison, staring ahead warily.

’It seems reinforcements from the Great Velmora Empire have arrived,’ Erkan whispered with a grim expression.

He had anticipated this outcome. It was impossible for the enemy not to take action at a time like this.

He was just slightly surprised by how quickly they had arrived.

That was beyond his expectations.

Just then, Elina and Nolan rode toward them, accompanied by five mounted soldiers.

In a loud voice, Elina called out, "Who is your leader?"
