Chapter 746: Sylvia’s Struggles (2)
Nolan and Sylvia sat side by side at the edge of the lake. Sylvia curled up, resting her chin on her knees.
"So, what do you want to tell me?" Nolan asked calmly.
Sylvia let out a small sigh. She lifted her head, gazed at the night sky, and said, "Before I start... please don’t laugh, okay?"
Nolan nodded. "Of course. Just tell me. I’ll listen."
Those words eased Sylvia’s worries a little. She pursed her lips and then began to speak.
"Actually..."
Half an hour later...
Sylvia finally finished her story, and Nolan understood her concerns.
’Bullying and discrimination, huh?’ Nolan muttered.
The problem Sylvia was facing was something he had been thinking about for the past few days.
Sylvia was an elf—a race that most humans viewed as strange and suspicious.
That wasn’t too surprising. Humans in this era were still narrow-minded and hadn’t fully accepted differences, unlike the humans of Nolan’s time.
Nolan let out a long sigh and lay down on the grass. He placed both hands behind his head like a pillow, then asked, "How do you feel now? After hearing their mockery and insults, did you get angry? Do you want to kill them all?"
The question startled Sylvia. She stared at Nolan as if he were crazy, then answered in a trembling voice, "N-No... I didn’t think that far. I-I’m just sad."
Nolan gave a faint smile. "Good. Don’t let yourself think like that. Even if they discriminate against you, don’t repay evil with evil. It won’t solve anything—it’ll only drag you into even bigger trouble."
If it had been anyone else, Nolan might have said, "Why are you hesitating? Get back at them and show them you’re better! Use violence to teach them a lesson!"
Unfortunately, he couldn’t say that to Sylvia. After all, this girl was the future ruler of the Tower of Silence.
If he planted the idea of repaying discrimination with cruelty, it could one day bring disaster upon this world.
After all, in the future, Sylvia would reach the Beyond the World level—a realm that only a handful of people in history had ever attained.
One could only imagine how terrifying she would become if she ever turned against humanity.
"Actually, solving this problem is very simple, Sylvia," Nolan said gently. "All you need to do is become stronger."
Sylvia froze and muttered unconsciously, "Become stronger?"
"That’s right." Nolan nodded and straightened up. He reached out and patted Sylvia on the head.
"When you become strong, you can have anything you want. Even the people who insult you now will come crawling back. They’ll flatter you, praise you, and do anything just to gain your favor."
Sylvia listened intently, imagining his words.
The faces that once looked at her with disgust slowly changed. They were smiling now, praising her, calling her the best.
Sylvia swallowed hard and asked in a trembling voice, "B-Brother Nolan... is that true? Can I really get whatever I want just by becoming strong?"
"Of course. I’ve never lied to you, and you know that, right?" Nolan said as he gently pinched Sylvia’s soft, chubby cheek.
"Y-Yes! You wouldn’t lie to me!" Sylvia replied firmly.
Although she had only known Nolan for a few days, Sylvia could tell he wasn’t the type to lie or harbor ill intentions toward her.
"Good." Nolan smiled in satisfaction. "Then all you need to do is study hard and become stronger. Ignore the rest. In the coming years, you’ll see how the people who look down on you now will change their attitudes. That’s an absolute law of nature."
That concept applied to Nolan as well.
If he revealed his identity as the Singularity of Chaos, he was certain his father would treat him differently.
It wasn’t impossible that the battle for the throne would be canceled altogether and the throne simply handed to him.
And even if that broke tradition, Ragan wouldn’t care. As long as the Great Velmora Empire could survive for thousands of years, bending a single rule would mean nothing.
That was why Nolan chose not to reveal his identity. Aside from not wanting to be burdened by responsibility, he also didn’t want to become the center of attention wherever he went.
"An absolute law of nature..." Sylvia repeated, her expression adorably serious.
She took a deep breath, lifted her head, and looked at Nolan with renewed determination.
"I get it! I’ll study hard and become the strongest in the Tower of Silence!" she declared confidently, clenching her fists.
Nolan nodded in satisfaction. For some reason, this little girl reminded him of Elina when she was young.
Elina had been full of spirit and stubbornness—just like Sylvia sitting beside him.
"Well then, let’s go."
Nolan stood up and brushed the dirt from his clothes.
"Go? Where?" Sylvia asked curiously.
Nolan smiled and said, "I heard there’s a night market in Solen. Want to check it out?"
Sylvia’s eyes lit up, but a moment later her excitement faded into hesitation.
"I’ve never left the tower before. If I do, I’m afraid my master will scold me."
The Great Sage Moracle was very strict. She had scolded Sylvia even for the smallest mistakes.
But among all her rules, the strictest was the ban on leaving the tower grounds. Sylvia had never broken it, so she didn’t know how her master would react.
Even so, she could already imagine how furious her master would be if she disobeyed that rule.
"Don’t worry about that. If your master scolds you, I’ll handle it," Nolan said confidently.
"Huh? Are you serious? But my master is a Celestial-level mage. She’s the strongest in the Tower of Silence," Sylvia replied timidly.
"Just Celestial? Relax, I’m far stronger than your master," Nolan said, patting his chest.
Forget Celestial—even if the Great Sage Moracle had reached the Beyond the World level, Nolan still wouldn’t be intimidated.
Sylvia hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded.
"Alright... I’ll trust you!"
Nolan chuckled softly and extended his right hand.
"Let’s go."

The city of Solen was bustling with life, even at night. People weren’t sleeping—instead, they took advantage of the cool evening to stroll with their loved ones.
Although its population wasn’t as large as Solen City’s in the future, the streets still felt lively and crowded.
"Wow! Is this Solen City? It’s so busy!" Sylvia exclaimed in awe.
She wore a hood to hide her appearance from the people around her. She didn’t want anyone to realize she was an elf.
Walking beside her, Nolan was just as amazed. He had never seen Solen City at night before and hadn’t expected it to be this vibrant.
"Do you want to try something?" Nolan asked.
Sylvia rubbed her chin for a moment before replying, "I want to buy some candy from that stall!"
She pointed to a stall not far away.
Nolan smiled. "Alright. Let’s go."
