Chapter 1335: Early Immortal Tribulation (2)

"Here we go."

The moment the five-minute wait was over, Klaus focused his gaze upward.

From within the cloud, the tip of a spear appeared, and with it, a terrible pressure followed, crashing down on him.

Far away on Planet Baski, the same spear appeared; only this time, it was less dangerous since he was merely using the Lightning Source Diagram to simulate what was happening with his main tribulation.

Klaus stood quietly on the ground, looking at the spear slowly appear through the cloud. When it wasn’t even halfway through the clouds, its length had already reached 60 meters, indicating that what was coming was dangerous.

The more it appeared through the cloud, the heavier the pressure felt. However, Klaus stood his ground, not showing any sign of pain.

’Icon, do you know what kind of tribulation this is?’ Klaus asked, summoning his bow.

[From the knowledge the senor left me, I believe this is the Seven Superimposing Spear Trial. You would face seven different spear strikes, each double the strength of the previous.]

’Sounds like a terrible thing, don’t you think?’

[The master is already under a lot of pressure with the first spear. I wonder just how dangerous it would be for the second, then the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh.]

Klaus smiled.

At the same time, too, the spear appeared and hovered in the air for a few seconds before descending on him with deadly speed.

"Tsk," Klaus chuckled, then he lifted his bow and unleashed a deadly arrow. The arrow flew with an even greater speed than the spear, creating sonic booms as it ascended.

BOOM

They clashed, creating a powerful sonic shockwave that spread through the air.

However, the spear couldn’t withstand the arrow, so the moment it struck, cracks appeared, and it shattered, releasing tribulation runes that flew into Klaus’s body.

"That was easy enough."

RUMBLE

The sky turned darker as the tribulation cloud started churning again, preparing the second spear. Klaus remained standing, looking as the cloud spun and released all kinds of terrifying energy.

"Things are about to get dangerous now." Even without the spear appearing yet, he sensed the danger coming. He could sense it; the heavens were getting serious, and that said a lot.

For them to take things seriously from merely the second phase of the tribulation meant they were not joking around. They wanted him dead, but they also had to be within the acceptable inflated rules, else they risked destroying the universe.

"It is just funny how people who claim they hate me always find ways to make me grow stronger. The tribulation runes I have absorbed have already pushed my first core to 30% completion.

If that is just the first form of the tribulation, then who knows how much I would be absorbing now that an even more powerful spear is coming."

Klaus extended his hand, and a thick metallic arrow appeared. He then tapped into a technique and started applying all forms of power-ups to the arrow.

Around the arrow, runes carved from the Space Law coated it, transforming it from an ordinary God-Killing Arrow to a deadly Space Law-imbued God-Killer Arrow.

The moment the tip of the second spear appeared through the cloud, the ground beneath Klaus’s feet cracked, showing that the pressure falling down on him was several times heavier than the first.

However, even with the change, Klaus wore a calm smile, watching the spear slowly appear.

This time, while the spear was a bit thicker, longer, and more deadly, it also had subtle runes that made it feel even heavier and more deadly.

It felt more like the spear was real and not a mere construction formed from a bunch of tribulation runes.

"Nothing has changed. I will just shatter it." Klaus pointed his arrow up, and then a smile appeared on his face. "If I were to master this tribulation and transform it into a technique, wouldn’t that be nice?"

A crazy look appeared in his eyes. Clearly, he meant what he said, which, if put into practice, could be considered the most dangerous thing he had ever thought of thus far.

However, he had no time to think it over since the next second, the spear descended, and all he could do was unleash his arrow.

This time, when his arrow met the tip of the spear, cracks appeared in both. However, he merely formed a hand seal, and the runes he had carved into the arrow activated.

This gave the arrow the needed force to push and draw a hole through the spear, shattering it in the process. The runes were absorbed into his body, taking his core to 90% completion.

A couple of seconds later, the third spear appeared; however, this time, there was something different. Just when the spear appeared, Klaus sensed another presence.

He saw no one appear with the spear; however, his instincts told him someone else was there. So he became alert. The pressure tripled, and the thickness of the spear became even more solid.

However, while he would have loved to be careless and examine it closely, what he feared happened.

Just when the spear shot at him, another attack came from the clouds, making it impossible to defend against both by using one arrow.

If he were to switch weapons, he might succeed, but impact would rattle him and even create openings for the invisible presence to attack him.

So he could only watch as the spear shot forward and a sword arc came from the other side.

"Hmm, shameless as ever," Klaus smiled, and then he formed a hand seal. "Since I can’t defend against both at the same time, why don’t you do the defending for me?"

Just when both attacks were 100 meters away, the void shattered, and the sword arc vanished into it. Then the void opened again in the path of the spear, and the sword arc came out, meeting the spear in a deadly collision.

BOOOOOM

They both exploded, turning into tribulation runes. They were absorbed into Klaus’s body. However, instead of smiling, his expression narrowed at the tribulation cloud. A few seconds later, he spoke.

"Are you going to come out, or are you going to keep hiding inside the tribulation cloud like a bitch?" The Flame Eater Bow vanished, and a long, red-bladed sword appeared in Klaus’s firm grip.

A second later, a humanoid with four eyes appeared, looking coldly at Klaus. He held two crescent-shaped weapons in his firm grip, each exuding the power of a True Immortal.

"How ironic," Klaus smirked, then he asked, "If I were to go into a staring contest with you, would it be counted as my win if you blink with two of your eyes while the remaining two are open?"

Standing several km away, Maud facepalmed, clearly not expecting Klaus to ask such a question.

That question should have stayed inside his head, considering the person standing before him was a True Immortal with six Immortal Rings.

If anything, he should have been wary. However, Klaus is the kind of person who doesn’t let moments like this pass without cracking a joke.

As expected, the four-eyed demon took offence to what Klaus said. His four eyes glowed green. Then, like time had slowed down, he took a step, and he was standing before Klaus.

However, when he attacked with his crescent blades, Klaus merely sidestepped, evading his attack.

At the same time, the tip of the fourth spear appeared and locked its insidious tip on him.
