Chapter 1608: First Paragon God Ascension – Flame & Blood Path (2)
If this were before Klaus awakened the true power of his Nine Reincarnations Divine Body and attained Tribulation Immunity, today would have been the day the entire universe noticed his presence and would have tried to kill him.
After all, a Paragon becoming a god wasn’t something the heavens would allow. It had never happened before, and they most certainly never planned on seeing it happen ever.
In the past, Klaus knew that if he attempted it, he would die, ruining all of his efforts. So, with every incarnation, he cultivated a part of the Nine Reincarnations Divine Body, all for today.
Today, one of his incarnations had stepped onto the path to become a god, and there was nothing the heavens could do about it. They could only watch and seethe in anger.
After walking through the gateway, Rhazor found himself in front of a grand building, one built from a combination of bones and red stones.
The building was supposed to look terrifying. However, it didn’t quite take that path if one looks at it objectively. It looked pleasing to the eye and aesthetically beautiful.
Of course, this building was the Tower of Ascension, the one located in the 4th Paragon Star, the star Hanna was connected to.
Today was Klaus’s first time appearing on this star, yet he felt at home, almost as if it were where he was always meant to live.
But until he gathered all Nine Star Lights, he could only visit it briefly.
Today, as he walked toward the main gate of the 4th Tower of Ascension, he felt his nature as the Paragon standing just below a realm that would transform him from a mere Paragon into the Paragon he was always meant to become.
The paragon that the heavens are afraid of seeing.
When he reached the gate, it opened on its own, revealing a hall with a stone tablet standing at the centre. After walking to the stone tablet, he saw the inscriptions engraved upon it.
Rhazor took a deep breath before taking in everything he had read. From the look of things, the rewards were far beyond what he had learned from most people.
He had researched God Ascension in the past and knew it involved undertaking the God Ascension Trial and leaving your mark on the God Ascension Tablet.
The more trials one passed, the stronger one became. So, he had already expected something similar from the Paragon Star, and he came prepared. However, he never expected there to be these additional rewards.
His wives skipped this process because he had no plans allowing them to inscribe the names on the Heavenly Dao God Ascension tablet.
He is a paragon, so he can do just about anything he wants. But they aren’t, and he didn’t want them to be at the mercy of the heavens. Right now, his blood is cleaning the names of his legion off that tablet.
“100 layers, huh?” he smiled, knowing he alone was already too much for this universe, so passing the 100th layer shouldn’t be a struggle.
However, the fact that no one else had managed to pass it made him wonder what lay in wait at the 100th layer.
“No need to think too much. I am a Paragon, after all. So naturally, things are meant to be a bit harder for me.” he let a smile form on his face.
“But an insight into the Great Catastrophe sounds like something I should aim for.”
What Rhazor didn’t know was that, by deciding to surpass the realm many couldn’t, he would soon discover the threat that loomed over everyone’s head and who could help him ensure that life would be preserved.
In a way, he was about to discover a mission the Paragon was born to fulfil.
“Better to hurry then.”
He took one last deep breath before pressing his palm against the Paragon Path Tablet.
A low humming sound echoed through the surroundings, and the scene before him instantly changed. In the blink of an eye, he found himself standing on a vast scorched land where the metallic scent of blood permeated the air.
Before he could even blink, a panel appeared before him.
<You have arrived in an endless tide battlefield, every second, thousands of beasts will spawn, adding to the already countless hordes making their way toward you. You are required to kill all of them before they overrun you and make their way to the Gate of Calamity.
For every 10,000 beasts killed, you will pass one layer of the God Ascension Trial. The trial will change and continue to adapt for as long as you remain standing. Good luck.>
The description sounded vague, but its meaning became clear almost immediately when the ground beneath him started to shake violently. Rhazor quickly flew into the air to get a better view.
In the distance, he saw thousands of beasts charging in his direction.
“Immortal-level beasts,” he muttered after reading their cultivation realms, a smile appearing on his face.
He summoned his sword and shot into the sky, understanding that to pass the trial, he had to kill and keep killing until there was nothing left alive.
Soon, the two sides clashed, and beasts began to die one after another.
The path he was destined to walk was one of flames and blood. Already, the battlefield had begun to transform, taking on a fiery nature, while the endless slaughter filled the air with the overwhelming stench of blood.
Basically, Rhazor was about to have the time of his life.
—
Meanwhile, while Rhazor was having the time of his life inside the God Ascension Trial, something alarming had begun to unfold at the Heavens Court.
The Celestial Supreme had been summoned once again by the mysterious man within the void. He practically ran over, as the summons carried an unmistakable sense of urgency.
“My lord, you called?” the Celestial Supreme said as he knelt with his head bowed.
A few seconds later, a response came, and it was grim.
“Something is wrong, Elorm. Something has gone terribly wrong, so we have to fast-track my arrival.”
“What is wrong, my lord?” Elorm, as the mysterious man within the void called him, asked.
“The Heavenly Dao seems to have lost its hold over the Paragon.”
“What?”
Elorm’s face turned deathly pale upon hearing something he never expected to hear in this life or the next.
“But… how?” he asked, beads of sweat rolling down his face.
“I do not know either. I felt his presence vanish from the Heavenly Dao, and now I can also sense it trembling in sheer terror. They are afraid, and as far as I know, the only person capable of making the Heavenly Dao afraid is the Paragon,” the man within the void replied.
His words alone showed that even he was afraid.
Unlike beings such as the Celestial Supreme of the Primus Universe, who knew little to nothing about the Paragon, he knew far more than he ever wished to, so he immediately understood what all of this meant.
A Paragon freed from the suppression of the Heavenly Dao was a Paragon with untamed potential and boundless fury.
For nine eras, the heavens had ensured that the Paragon could never advance beyond the Demigod Stage. They made certain that was his absolute limit because allowing him to ascend further was something they simply could not afford.
So, for him to break free from that invisible spiderweb meant there was no telling when he would strike.
Klaus was now like a bird released from its cage.
He could go anywhere.
He could do anything he wanted.
