The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1743: Ambush (1)

Chapter 1743: Ambush (1)

[Somewhere in the Ancient Battlefield]

Inside a metallic structure somewhere in the shattered valley, a man with skin composed entirely of metal sat on a throne-like chair, his green eyes piercing the distance. He isn’t very muscular, but he is tall, very tall.

In fact, he would easily surpass 7 feet.

He had no hair on his head. Instead of hair, he has thousands of tattoos lining his bald head and his neck.

Standing below in various postures are seven individuals, each a warrior in their own right.

Clearly, they are subordinates of the man seated in the chair.

Well, calling him a man when he is made purely of metal is a long stretch. But then again, if men from the Metal Race or Metal Demons are referred to as men, then who is to protest this person being called a man?

A man’s identity is relative to his physical appearance, and right now, he looks like a man.

“My Lord, we have received word from the higher-ups. Apparently, the Paragon is on his way here to kill you,” one of the seven, a lady clad in form-fitting leather armor, said, her expression showing mockery.

“He is on his way with over a dozen others. According to the reports, one of them is already a Pseudo-Primordial, and guess what? The infamous God Butcher is part of his team.”

“Oh, that is interesting,” the man allowed a smile to appear on his face. “I have always waited for the day the Paragon would dare step foot on this battlefield. Who would have thought his next opponent would be me? He really is unlucky, isn’t he?”

The seven warriors laughed…

“It appears so, my Lord. In fact, this is his first mission since he arrived on the Ancient Battlefield a few days ago. Maybe he thought he could use you as his first win, perhaps to send a message.”

“If only he knew the stepping stone he expected is actually the weapon fashioned against him.”

They all laughed, clearly not taking Klaus (Rhazor’s) arrival very seriously.

One of the seven, a slender man with Elven features despite his race being from the Foreign Race, said.

“The General has issued orders. He wants us to make sure the Paragon dies at all costs. He even authorized the use of the Doomsday weapon. It appears even the higher-ups take him seriously.”

The metal man, who goes by Twin Dagger Fiend, nodded. “Meaning killing him will earn us so much merit. This means we cannot fail no matter what.”

“We will not fail, my Lord. Since he never expected us to be the ones he will be meeting, let’s make sure he receives a terrible welcome.”

The Twin Dagger Fiend nodded and issued his orders. “Each of you should take 10,000 men and a hundred SSE Battle Androids. No matter what happens, make sure they all die, the Paragon most especially. We cannot allow him to escape.”

“As you command.”

The seven left the hall, and soon, they started marching away.

“Paragon, oh Paragon, why did you have to arrogantly walk into my domain?” Twin Dagger Fiend sighed. “Since you have come, then you might as well stay…”

His laughter echoed beyond the walls of his mansion.

Meanwhile, somewhere light-years away from the 4th Shattered Valley, Rhazor sat in a lotus posture with his eyes closed.

He had been in deep meditation for some days now.

It wasn’t that he was scared; it was more like he was planning for what awaited him where he was going. Klaus is smart, perhaps the smartest man in the entire universe… multiverse even.

So he knew when he was walking into a trap.

Right now, he knew his opponent would be made aware that he was on his way. Already, his arrival in the Ancient Battlefield had spread far and wide, so he knew the traitors in the 7th Outpost would leak his mission to the enemy.

Meaning they would be prepared and waiting for his arrival.

The mission said the Twin Dagger Fiend had a few Celestial warriors and close to 500 Supremes. However, Klaus knew for a fact that wasn’t the truth at all.

If anything, he knew that for someone who was governing his own domain, if he didn’t have much, he would have over 100,000 warriors.

This meant there would be thousands of Supremes and Celestials waiting for them.

The danger would be on another level, but he also recognised that the gain, if they managed to succeed, would be on another level. If they won this, Asmodeus alone would have enough undead warriors to sweep the entire Ancient Battlefield.

The Foreign Race clearly didn’t know what kind of monster they were about to face.

After a few more hours of travelling, Rhazor opened his eyes and turned to look at his teammates.

Danny, Daniel, Mark, Miguel, Kilian, Kay, and Jason, alongside their girlfriends, are all Supremes, but with abilities and bloodline powers strong enough that they can easily handle Celestials.

Asmodeus and Gorr are also Supremes, but even they are more dreadful than Klaus’s other friends. In fact, they are far more dreadful than most Peak Celestials.

Aside from them, there are Akutaq and Yaxche, who, back during the Primordial Era, were the Blood Sabre Vampire King and Blood Dagger Prince, two of the greatest warriors to ever live back then.

They both are Peak Celestial stage warriors, each wielding powers far more dreadful than one can imagine.

Then there is Matthew, the strongest of them, who is a Pseudo-Primordial.

Klaus knew he would play a bigger role, just like Asmodeus, who also has 7 Pseudo-Primordial Undead warriors, would come in handy in the battles ahead.

“Well then, we are almost at our destination, guys,” Rhazor said, a smile forming on his face. “This also means we have to be prepared for an ambush, which I can smell is already waiting for us.”

“They should bring it on,” Danny said, his voice booming across the spaceship.

Rhazor just smiled and ignored him.

“The question is, should we allow a broadcast where the entire Ancient Battlefield will witness our victory, or should we remain low-key for now?”

Akutaq, the talkative one, replied, proposing a sound solution. “We are here to train and empower Asmodeus, so I say we create as much chaos as we can. That will draw all the big fishes to us.”
