Chapter 1744: Ambush (2)
Chapter 1744: Ambush (2)
The seven warriors sent by the Twin Dagger Fiend stood atop seven different asteroids, each with 10,000 warriors.
They stood in such a manner that, regardless of what one did, they could not approach the Shattered Valley without first passing through them.
“Number Seven, you will attack first, so be ready. I can sense them approaching,” a figure standing no shorter than 6’7″ said, looking at another figure much shorter than him.
The person he spoke to smiled and nodded, a large sabre sheathed behind him.
He looked into the distance, his gaze travelling far and wide as he looked at the approaching spaceship. The smile on his face widened when the spaceship suddenly came within reach for them to attack.
He raised his hand and was about to order the start of the attack when something strange happened. The spaceship slowed down, and then it came to a sudden halt.
Then the doors opened, and a lone figure, standing at least 4 meters tall and wielding a giant axe, walked out, a smile spreading across his face.
Danny locked eyes with Number Seven, who, despite being a Celestial, was no weaker than a Pseudo-Primordial. The staring contest lasted for a mere second, but then something even more chilling happened.
Just as the two were locked in a staring contest, a hand came from the void and grabbed Number Seven’s hair. Before he could struggle and free himself, another hand appeared, and with a decisive slash, it severed his head, killing both his body and Celestial Soul.
Yaxche stepped out of the void holding Number Seven’s head, while his body rested on the asteroid.
“You could have done it less brutally, but this is okay. Nothing a needle and thread can’t fix,” Asmodeus said with a chilling laughter, appearing beside Yaxche, the Blood Dagger Prince.
He waved his hand, and Number Seven’s body and head vanished into his undead space, where his Undead Shamans and Oracles would work to awaken and modify him into a warrior worthy of following the Undead Sovereign, Asmodeus.
He turned, looked at the thousands of warriors, each with a stunned expression, and laughed. “Ladies and gentlemen, you are all going to die.”
Number Six, a man with a muscular physique, wielding a spear, frowned and was about to charge toward Asmodeus when a large shadow fell on him.
“Eat my hammer!” Daniel came from the void, and with his hammer bathed in flames, he unleashed a deadly attack, causing Number Six to change his target.
The next second, the space around them exploded, and a dangerous battle was underway.
Number Five, who happened to be a lady wielding a bow, sensed her life was threatened, and the next second, an arrow arrived before her. Luckily, she had come face-to-face with such attacks before, so Kay’s arrow was blocked.
But she underestimated the power behind the arrow. Despite blocking it, her body was thrown back, causing her to stagger a few times.
That slight mistake on her part was all Kay needed to turn the tide of the battle.
His crimson hair changed to black, then his bow transformed into a curved sword, and before Number Five could stabilize herself, Kay was upon her, catching her off guard.
She was supposed to fight long-distance battles, but now that Kay had managed to close in on her, she felt restricted, causing her first injury to be her last.
Kay’s sword stabbed toward her chest, piercing through her heart.
There was a struggle, but before she could do much, her life was ripped from her soul, ending her pitiful existence.
“WHAT?”
Number One, who saw all that had happened, frowned. He never expected their glorious campaign to result in the deaths of two of their very best. What was even more humiliating was the fact that they both died in under 2 seconds.
That wasn’t what he expected; he knew he had to act.
But he couldn’t, since the moment he made an attempt to move, Jason appeared before him, his spear surrounded by wind blades, each sending the feeling of death deep into Number One’s soul.
“Are you the Paragon?” Number One asked, his hand reaching for his weapon. If this figure was the Paragon, then he planned to kill him once and for all before things turned more dire for them.
Jason smirked and answered, “You wish I was the Paragon. That said, I was once among the few who came close to killing him, so well… I just want you to know that before I claim your life.”
His figure blurred, and the next moment, he was before Number One.
“Not so fast.” Number One used a movement technique to escape, then, tapping into the Law of Void, he teleported away, appearing somewhere far from the battlefield.
The next second, a large cannon appeared, aimed at Jason. His eyes narrowed immediately.
He could sense death smiling at him, and inasmuch as he willed his body to move, he felt something had locked him down.
‘A Doomsday weapon, huh?’ he smiled, and then he closed his eyes.
Perhaps Number One thought he had given up and was ready to embrace death. This made him happy and even gloat a little…
“Accept your death, you peasant.” He really wished to use it first on the Paragon since he could fire only three shots. However, since Jason had threatened his life, he might as well take him out.
“Die!”
He pressed the trigger, and a red beam fired, aimed directly at Jason’s chest. The beam was so powerful that if it landed on him, he would die for sure. He would even be vaporized.
So, Number One really pressed that trigger, knowing he would be taking Jason out for sure.
Unfortunately for him, just when the beam was halfway to its target, two identical twins appeared, and with a wave of their hands, 10 stacks of large shields, each at least 3 feet thick, appeared before them.
“Doomsday Titan Shield.”
Lin and Zing pressed both hands against the shields and, channeling their understanding of the Earth and Metal Laws, reinforced them.
However, they didn’t stop there.
“Three Shield Divergent.”
Number One saw the first three shields rearrange themselves, and thanks to his superior mind, he saw what they were trying to do. But it was already too late to stop it.
BOOOM!
The beam landed on the shield, and it divided into three and then diverged, each going toward the 10,000 warriors they each brought with them.
“NOOOOOOOOOO!”
