Chapter 828: Supreme Dragon of Darkness, Valus.(9)
The group huddled together by the fire and discussed an important topic.
It was Sabrina, Alice, Alexander, Olivia, Maxwell, Azmakul, Maxwell, Emma, Edward and last but not least, Kazikato.
Alan was currently away, exploring the surface of Lanekia, he found the platform uncomfortable with the barrier regulating the temperature.
"So, am I the only one who noticed it?"
Sabrina presented the main topic of discussion with a shaking voice, her right hand on her right cheek.
"Yeah, your not the only one."
Maxwell replied, looking intensely at the fire. He too had noticed it.
"It's vague, but it's noticeable alright."
He affirmed.
"Indeed."
Sabrina responded, her hand still on her cheek, with focused but aimless eyes.
"Can you two explain?"
Alice interjected, raising her hand as she asked the question everyone else had in their minds.
Why had they been called to meet like this?
Sabrina didn't respond, stuck in some sort of daze. Maxwell answered in her stead.
"Alan changed, well, to be more precise, something about him has changed."
"Which is?"
Edward pointed out, wanting the information to be more precise. As far as he was concerned, he didn't notice anything different.
"It's his aura. Something changed, I'm certain of it."
Alexander raised his brows.
"Huh? No it didn't. Still the same."
Sabrina signed, and corrected.
"Not that kind of aura, his... Vibe, didn't you see the look in his grow sharper? The atmosphere around him just changed.
... I don't hate it though."
"Yeah, I noticed it back in the shadow realm too, his vibe changed."
Everybody looked at the two of them strangely, they were trying to recall anything from their memories.
It had been a short interaction after returning from the Realm of Shadows, Alan had healed most of the party, and went to check on Sabrina's domain after eating, after that he complained about it being unbreable on the platform, and left to go explore the surface of Lanekia.
They hadn't really noticed any changes to him, he acted like himself.
If there was, a change, more people than Sabrina and Maxwell would have picked it up, like Alexander and Kazikato.
They also knew him for quite a long while, and even with their enhanced senses, they failed to notice any change.
Or did they?
"I don't think anything about him changed, or did it?"
Alexander scratched his chin, trying desperately to recall anything different... Meanwhile Kazikato desperately fought against the drowsiness.
He was in his own trance... and was hardly paying any attention to the conversation.
Olivia merely remained quiet, eyeing Sabrina, who had been acting odd. Azmakul participates silently, along with Emma.
The ones who had been to shadow realm with him were clueless, besides Maxwell.
"Maybe his trial did it? Did anyone notice his shadow moving strangely?"
Maxwell asked, looking down at his own shadow, which was scratching it's shadowy chin with it's shadowy hand, trying to recall anything.
Olivia and Alice jumped back, creeped out by the sudden movement.
"Oh my, this is rare. I've only seen few move this much so quickly."
Azmakul commented from the side, surprised by Maxwell's shadow. Alexander and Edward looked at his with envy.
Alexander's was hardly moving at all, and even if it, it would always assume a crying position, meanwhile...
"... There has to be something wrong with mine, right?"
Edward pointed at his own, which was like a murderous beast, it was looking at him with... Bloodcurdling eyes, shadowy bloodcurdling eyes.
His shadiw was a total maniac, to the point Edward was scared to try shadow enhancement. Merely the thought of that bloodthirsty one enveloping him gave him shivers.
Sabrina ignored them all, stuck in her own daze.
"He kissed me... He took the initiative?"
"... Are you flaunting your improving relationship?"
"No... I'm just as surprised as you are. Has Alan grown a bit more handsome? The look in his eyes is a bit dreamy..."
"... Sabrina, what do you even find appealing in that brute?"
"Everything...".
Olivia, Alice and Emma could barely understand Sabrina. He was attractive, sure, even more so after coming to Lanekia.
But this much infatuation, especially from the most calm girl they knew was unsettling.
" The prince is a man of many talents, it definitely has something to do with his meeting with Highness Kulak, though."
Azmakul said, and it was then that everybody realized the ancient dragon was with them, assuming the same pose, around a fire nonetheless.
The very fire that Alan hated to be near, was Alan just extremely sensitive to heat or was Azmakul just extremely resistant?
While they had their questions about Azmakul joining them like this, they didn't dwell on it too much. The divine dragon was busy blending in, although his mask made it difficult.
"Whatever it is, it is certainly for the better. "
He added, and Sabrina was the first to agree.
"Definitely."
"Sister, chill."
Maxwell rolled his eyes, watching Olivia and the rest of the girls look at the dazed Sabrina with concern evident in their eyes.
They were questioning many things...
"Well, whatever it is, when are we going to the land of darkness? I really want to go back to Earth as soon as possible."
Alexander asked, to which Maxwell replied.
"You can go whenever you want, Alan can just make a portal."
"Hell no, if I go back alone Master will give most of his time to teaching me! That is better reserved for Alan!"
"..."
"So are we going to gloss over his change?"
"Yes, Sabrina, we are."
"Bummer..."
And while all of this was going on, Alan was up above, on the wide scapula of Kizmal, an endless white plain.
He wasn't really exploring or anything, rather, he was enjoying himself. The uncomfortable environment of the realm shadows, and the warm platform had made him miss the cold of Lanekia.
It truly was a frost dragons home, considering it made even Alan bury himself in snow and wave his arms and legs around with an elated smile on his face.
"Hehe."
He really had missed the cold...
