Chapter 830: Supreme Dragon of Darkness, Valus. (11)
As the Darkness posed its question, the frost let out a frigid breath. Lanesha was unwilling to answer, even as her brother pressured her on. This was merely the type of question that shouldn’t be answered.
Not yet, at the very least. She didn’t feel like answering it yet.
"So..."
Valus sighed, seeing his sister remain silent.
"This is your choice?"
Lanesha looked up at Valus, and in his eyes she could see his sorrow, guilt, and regret, but she chose to stay silent even further. She knew no matter how much she disappointed him at this very moment.
The secret was with her, Valus wouldn’t use his eyes on her, no matter what line she crossed, because at the end.
She was family, and the house of Death valued family above all else. Valus would never use his omnipotent eyes on his younger sister, she was sure of it.
"Fine."
And as she expected, he had retreated. The darkness surrounding the throne room receded as Valus turned around.
"If you want him to meet me so much, then fine."
The tidal wave of darkness disappeared, concentrating under Valus’s feet, an endless abyss of black. The Supreme Dragon of Darkness decided that it was time to go.
His figure disappeared into the darkness below, and soon enough the throne room was filled with dark blue light once again. Lanesha sighed.
’He’ll understand everything when he sees him.’
She muttered to herself, turning her head up to look at the Weave once more, now that the darkness that veiled it was gone.
’He’ll understand.’

Back at Lanekia, everyone was waiting at the platform for Azmakul to finish the portal to the World of Darkness. It was the last step of their journey. A few months ago, all of them had departed from Earth.
They missed home, and after the trials of darkness were over, they could all go back without any form of guilt. They had grown stronger, no one could deny that.
Each one of them had rediscovered their abilities and enhanced them as much as they could. They honed what they were good at as much as possible, and now the final hurdle was here.
The world of Darkness, the final set of trials Alan had to complete for the House of Death, to become the official heir. They silently watched Azmakul prepare the portal, steeling themselves.
All of them wore a black cloak, as advised by Azmakul.
When Alan had requested Sabrina to get as much information about Valus, the supreme dragon of darkness, she had done her very best.
And she had gathered a lot.
The Supreme Dragon of Darkness, unlike the other dragons, was a bit special. All the species of the Alliance held respect for the Dragons, the Elves elevated this to another degree, almost to the point of reverence... but it never truly reached that point.
Dragons didn’t like to be worshiped like a God, and they did everything in their might to stop them from becoming so. Even though the Elves, the Dwarves and every other race that utilized mana had tried to do so, the dragons had made sure they were not treated like the God Beasts.
The only exception to this was Valus, the Supreme Dragon of Darkness, and it wasn’t because he was different from the other dragons. He, too, did not want to be worshiped, and had done everything he could to stop it.
But the Dark Elves, the Duerger, and the other dark races that had been persecuted in the past, even some demons, all worshiped Valus. Their reverence was at such a great level that the Dragon had failed to stop them.
Long ago, races that were more attuned to the element of darkness and chaos were despised by the Alliance. The Elves despised the Dark Elves, the Dwarves despised the Duerger, and many others.
They were treated just like the demons of the Abyss, and so, this sparked revolution. They wanted liberation, but how could they?
They didn’t live in a society where a man was equal to a man in terms of strength, where a single weapon could turn the tides. They lived in a society where there were existences that had transcended. It was simply impossible.
They didn’t birth someone with immeasurable talent that could topple the tides, but they did birth someone with incredible wills, ambition unlike any other.
The First Kings of their races, but even then... Could Ambition and willpower alone topple the status quo of super powered beings? They could not.
And it was exactly this reason why they worshiped Valus, for he had been the one to break the silence of the dragons. He had been unlike any other dragon, only focused on developing their sorceries. He had offered his hand.
He had seen the First Kings try to be the light of their races, he had seen them try to inspire hope and thus, he had done it. He did what a Dragon would never do.
He had accepted them, he had created worlds for them, he had advocated for them, forced the others to leave them alone. He had given them a home, not just one, but many. He had given them everything they had fought for, He had given them what everyone else had.
He had broken the silence of the dragons. He had been the one dragon to focus not on his sorcery but in the affairs of the others. He had been the light not once, but twice.
He saw them, He saw the First Kings fight despite their weakness, He saw them trapped in the darkness of their times and fight desperately to be a light. And so, he had acted.
They tried to be the light of their races, and so, as the darkness. He had to give them presence. He had to give them importance.
’For Darkness would not Darkness without light. Light would not be Light with Darkness. Both are two sides of the coin...’
Sabrina quoted a verse from the Church of Darkness’s bible in her mind, recalling all the history she had read, and explained to the others.
But there was so much more.
